Noise from other rooms and outside ( main road)
Good location,cheap parking,nice staff,very clean place
Very clean. The shower was good. Near to the train station so catching the 6.50 a.m train to Barcelona was not a problem. The room was small and basic but was inexpensive. Fitted the bill for a few nights when all we needed was somewhere to sleep.
We spent one night in this hotel during our trip through spain and it was perfect for what we were looking: it's a cheap hotel but very clean, 5min to the center of cambrils, quiet in the night and a small breakfast was included. Staff speaks only spain but this we worked out ;)
Where do I start! Poor standard, not worth the price, poor room space, poor beds, poor air con, poor service, if I was not charged on arrival I would of gone elsewhere, catering facilities unavailable, advertised as a hotel when it shoul be a poor mans hostal, nil and void customer service, avoid at all costs!!!!!!!!! This place is not safe and very very poor standard !!!!!!!!!
where to begin ...gloomy interior depressing room with tired cheap furniture. room full of ants and at least 1 cockroach. 'Air conditioning' amounted to an old huge portable fan unit the size of a fridge that produced such a racket I could not hear myself think and barely reduced the room's stuffiness - I could not use it whilst sleeping so had 3 bad nights due to the heat. An outside pipe emitted a loud hissing noise day and most of the night. only 1 toilet for 12 rooms - toilet did not flush one night - with 1 guest spending 30 minutes inside every morning. The pension is above a crèche so continual noise of kids playing/fighting/crying from 815am on.breakfast amounted to a coffee and a croissant served by two totally bored resentful looking girls who avoided all eye contact and looked like they were there under sufferance. over 15 years of budget travel in Spain and Portugal this pension is easily one of the worst encountered and am frankly staggered at some of the favourable comments about this place which sold it to me when I did my research. I've booked a lot of rooms with booking.com (I'm a 'genius booker') and this is the first time I feel totally let down. The experience ruined my trip to Cambrils. Because Cambrils is a small fairly upmarket resort it lacks an established competitive budget pension sector. Hopefully the internet will drive these sorts of places out of business or they will be forced to make more of an effort. I resented paying for such a bad experience. Book it at your peril !
The mattress was new and very comfy The price was excellent Close to train station
Noisy at night No water on the last day Leg broken on bed Bathroom needs updating
This is a hidden gem. The staff/owners are very friendly and helpful. The restaurant of Fonda Monserrat deserves 3 Michelin stars. The chef cooks authentic Catalan cuisine (such dishes as xuquet, fideua, crema catalana etc.) using the freshest local produce (fish and seafood caught by local fishermen daily, meat, eggs, milks, veg&fruit). Would definitely recommend this place just for the sake of food. The location is great too - close to the old town, railway station is 3 mins walk (trains are infrequent and do not run at night, so it is still quiet), beach is ~12-15 mins walk. Rooms are clean and have TV, AC and a small fridge. There is free (limited) parking right next to the hotel and a bigger parking lot for 1 (one) EUR per day.
All very basic
Close to main town.
Difficult to find. Parking in public car park. Very basic. Breakfast times published but no staff arrived until after stated time so didn't get breakfast.basic hostel .

By chance we appeared in Cambrils. We had reserved room in Fonda Montserrat only for one night. The next day we planned to ride farther, in Tarragona. But we were attracted by a menu, which was laying on a table in a number. In the past I was a cook at restaurants with fine cuisine, and I understood, that we must to try some of the dishes of the menu. And the price of dishes was very accessible. We dined and stayed for 7 more days))) Magnificent cook, Angel his name (he is also a head of hotel) is simply remarkable man: man, who is in love with what he does: cook for people and making them comfortable at his hotel. Later we found out, that restaurant in Fonda Montserrat – the most popular place for locals to go for lunch and dinners. So popular, that they make reservations for tables tame ahead. We ate three times per day and were in complete raptures. Not planning our vocations in Cambrils, we conducted part of the trip with great pleasure. We had a wonderful room with three beds (it was ideal for our family 2 adults and two little kids). They were cleaning room and cared about maximal comfort and pleasant stay for us. A view from our room was luxurious – on a local cathedral. But the best about Fonda Montserrat – is an auxiliary personnel. We have feeling, that we stayed at house of our relatives, we were behaved with love and care. Thank to all of you, family-team of Fonda Montserrat. We recommend this place to everybody: wonderful place, remarkable people, magnificent cooking! Anna and Sasha from Belarus.
