Loved Altea especially the old part, good restaurants open in January, which you can take your dog into.
The only problem is if you are travelling with a dog that gets upset when you leave him. You can't take your dog into the bar area or restaurant. So hostel accepts pets but doesn't cater for them,
Good central position, friendly staff, affordable, and good free internet.
My room had no window or extractor fan in the bathroom. This wasn't satisfactory and if I'd stayed longer I'd have asked to change rooms. The bar/cafe closed very early, but it was early week and off season.
Central position, car parking nearby and free
Complex entrance and exit arrangements, early morning and after ten ,bar and restaurant closed at 10 pm.
All we needed in a hostel at a great price.
Great location, staff very friendly and very clean
Good location not far from old town. Rooms clean and beds v.comfy.
Booked half board. B/fast continental but no attention given to ensuring everything was available. Not enough plates, no juices, cold coffee etc. Half board was that you got what you were given and no choice! A la carte I don't think so.
Hostal is located very conveniently for the beautiful old town of Altea.
It can be cold during the night in winter.
This was very central.bit difficult to park as we arrived on a public holiday but still managed about 200 metres away.5 minuite walk to main square of old town.very friendly staff even though they could speak very little english and we could speak little spanish we managed ok.would definatley recommend.
Good value. Friendly staff
The position of the hostel is fantastic. The room we had was overlooking the front of the hostel, it had a lovely balcony off the bathroom, which was quirky. This the second time we have stayed here and would definitely stay again.
Breakfast was chaotic, not enough staff and area for preparing and collecting breakfast was too small.
Location - price - breakfast. Friendly staff , good bar area. Clean and tidy rooms.
There was no sea view or mountain view from our room. There was no double bed and the mattresses were uncomfortable. There was no tea - making facility.
Location, Price, Staff & Locals. First impressions were not favourable, but as the days passed all the benefits became apparent and we loved the place. Would completely agree with the most insightful review, Altea is a gem. Recommended.
In the middle of the old historic town Bars and restaurants close
Traffic noise all night
Excellent position for the old town. Short, cheap taxi ride to the beach area.
Quiet position Located near the main square Helpful reception Clean rooms Nice balcony Excellent value for money
unreliable wi fi signal
GREAT location , in the nicest area of Altea , cute hotel and excellent value for the money . The staff had an excellent behaviour helping us with our late arrival , cant thank them enought . Friendly and Profesional . The best days of our holidays has been in this hotel , the best one of the ones we stayed on the area during our weel holiday . Best choice and best value .
Average at best. For 50.00 USD, not bad if you're a mountain goat, or have a scooter.
The town, I just don't get it, why go! So many other places along the coast.
Simple but nice rooms. Amazing location. Great views. Private balcony. Plenty of hot water. Bathtub. Great wireless internet. Excellent value for money.
Breakfast that was included was mediocre. Staff were busy, service a bit slow.
Old mattresses and furnishings Clean but smells of disinfectant Location excellent Free parking close by
Location, close to the Church Square. Lift available.
Decor needs a bit of a freshen up - but everywhere was clean.
This is a perfect place to spend a couple of days in the old city. A lot of nice small shops and great restaurants around. Just keep in mind that you have to climb up for 10-12 minuets to come back from the sea.
Poor service. They urged us to change the room without prior notice and no convincing explanation by sending an early text message and writing a note left under the door. The new bedroom was much worse: smaller, with bad matresses and a shower that didn't work (it was later repaired). Not expensive doesn't allow losing respect for the customer.
Location is great for the main plaza and best restaurants. Be prepared for a climb back if you are going to the beach. The rooms are very nice and comfortable.
Bathroom could be nicer and restaurant staff were not very helpful.
Hostel Fornet is an excellent hotel, immediately behind the old town of Altea, with views towards the cathedral and coast. Each room has a balcony and the roof terrace has amazing 270 degree views. Staff were very helpful and enabled us to extend our stay by 3 days after we realised what a gem the town of Altea was. The location is very near to the high class shops and artist's studios and also close to the large variety of amazing restaurants. Our stay in ALtea was the highlight of our month in Spain!
