Location great - short walk from station and right in middle of old town. Virtually all areas of interest accessible on foot - we didn't need public transport. Close to numerous restaurants etc. large room.

Very convenient location for walking everywhere in Bilbao and very nice staff who helped get luggage upstairs.

Only parking in the area costs 17 euros a day. Hotal is up one very long and two slightly shorter flights of stairs.

The location was amazing, right in the heart of Casco Viejo. With easy access to everything, including the tranvia and metro, I has no problems and could focus on having fun.

As others have mentioned, there is no elevator. But as I told myself puffing and panting with my suitcase, once up and once down. Also the street noise was loud--- not the pension's fault. There is almost no traffic but lots of people enjoying the bars and old friends and the young kids. Part of the experience!

Hostal Gurea is very centrally located and easily reachable from all directions in Bilbao. The staff are very helpful and always ready to assist you with your questions on Bilbao.

The water heater in my room was broken so the hot water was erratic.

Great and charming location in the old town area and easy to find from Casco Viejo metro station. Too many gourmet restaurants and pintxos bars around to be explored and my stay of 2 nights was definitely insufficient to explore them all! I personally prefer the old town area to the new city area on the other side of the river. Lovely neighbourhood that is safe even late into the night. And very easy to get around, with the tram and metro just within very short walking distance. Extremely friendly staff who are willing to provide information and even suggested travel route within Bilbao to explore the most and the best within our limited time.

No airconditioning and fan were available at all. I would think it can get rather uncomfortable in summer as it was already rather stuffy in autumn in the heatwave. WIFI connection is very weak in the rooms farthest from the main office/lobby area so that can be improved upon.

Location, ideal for the old town. And great for Pintxos bars. Room was comfortable, service (for what an hostal provides) was excellent. You've just got to love a place where the night porter recognises you in the bar across the road and recommends a local hooch you haven't tried before.

Whilst the hotel advertised help with parking, we ended up in Arenal, which is quite a long way away, and were rewarded with a shrug. Apart from that, the staff were as helpful as could be.

It was fiesta time which we hadnt realised and so all of the old town was noisy with celebrations until 6am but we still seemed to sleep ok and had a fine view of the fireworks from the balcony.

We only stayed one night but the staff were extremely helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help us. I would most definitely recommend it and hope to return

Very central, you can virtually see the cathedral from the hostel. In the interior there are nice wooden floors and some antique pieces of furniture, and there is a comfortable sitting room with vending machines and a computer. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Rather expensive for what it offers (slightly oldish interior and bathrooms, no air conditioning). As it is on the third floor and has no lift, a certain degree of fitness is required, especially with luggage. No free parking anywhere in the area, but that's what you'd expect right in the very centre of town. As it's in a pededestrianized area, access by car is subject to time restrictions (only until 11 am).

Right in the heart of the old city of Bilbao. Balcony overlooking one of the many streets alive with people and activity. Could not ask for a better location.

No elevator. But the lack of this also added to the ambiance of a building in the heart of an old medieval city.

Nothing but loacation.

Good location in the old town on a quiet street. The hotel is nothing fancy but it has all the facilities expected of a two star (if you can live without a lift) and was clean and tidy. I'd stay there again.

It's on the 4th floor with no lift. Not a problem for me, but may be for others.

We had a double-bed room, but with two single beds one put beyond the other. I hate this thing. The room was nice, but dirty. We found a imprecise blood-blob into the shower! Better if we don't know what it was...
