Very happy with this place. It's clean, clean, clean! cheap and every thing you need. Well located. Good wifi. Yeh, it's basic and it's 3 flights of stairs but the stairs are not too bad.
Couldn't extend our stay, it was booked out
The room was very clean and has all comfort you need. The location is great, you can reach all the main sights without using public transport. The staff at reception desk speak English and gave us some very useful information.Excellent value for money we paid.
No elevator and no private parking. Public parking is cca 300 m away. This can be particulary troublersome for eldery tourists.
great location, clean, comfy bed, really useful information from the reception girl upon arrival
no elevator but good information on it before booking
Clean with comfortable rooms. The only "problem" is that there are too many stairs and there isn't the elevator. But the position is very good
Lack of elevator
Clean, relaxed feeling of staff, liked the location in the casco viejo, price was good, close to restaurants.
The price to pay for staying in casco viejo is the street noise. It was unusually warm for late October so we kept our window open at night. As was the case with every hotel we stayed in on our trip through Spain and Portugal, we heard noise from the sidewalk cafes, bars and pedestrians until 2 or 3 a.m.; then the cleaning away of the tables/chairs; then around 4 a.m., the street cleaning machine which sounds remarkably like a typhoon. Things settle down for a few hours until morning traffic starts around 7. This became so routine for us, it didn't bother us at all towards the end.
Some noise from busy shopping street below.... but not too much.
great access to the city and in the old city
noise at night and the stairs
The location is brilliant. Lots of places to eat and buses, trams at the door step to move around.
Bedrooms very close together. People arriving late at night could be heard opening/closing doors and talking, in other words they wake you up.
No parking facility
The room is nicely refurbished, with parquet, a long table and a big comfortable bed. The hostel is 50 m from the cathedral, in the centre of the lively old town. The reception girl was really nice and helpful, giving a lot of tips about the city.
The bathroom could be refurbished.
Great location.really nice girl on. The front desk
Was a bit noisy with the balcony door open it didn't detract from the place
Good prices pension in the old centre.
Very good location in old pedestrian part of town. Was right in the centre of everything and only a short walk from train station. Use of computer was very convenient. Rooms bright, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Would stay here again.
The price was very good; staff very helpful and the location couldn't be better! Street noise was mostly pleasant i.e. musicians but at times disturbed our sleep. The restaurant right next door was excellent! Served the best cheesecake I have ever tasted!
the stairs - 72 steps is a long way for me to carry two bags. my 88 year old mother, who is fit and in good health, found that she limited the number of times she did the stairs.
This was the only thing...the noise Our room was at the front So we were on the street and close to a Plaza...... So get a room at the back
excellent location, friendly staff with great sightseeing suggestions, comfortable bed, free wifi
Fantastic spot with very friendly staff. In the old town so right beside everything you could ever want.
The rooms were clean and all have en-suite facilities. Plenty of cafes and bars nearby.
They do say they have no lift, but they do not say the hostal is on the 3rd floor. There are 80 steps to the entrance,so do not take a heavy case. Set in pedestrian area,so do not expect taxi to drop off outside.
room was comfortable and spotless staff couldnt be more helpful and pleasant.
It was very noisy up to around 1am and also noisy early in the morning
Good central location ,the hostal was basic but clean and well maintained
The hostal was on the third floor of the building with nobody to help with luggage and a lot of stairs to climb. Also our room had a lot of noise from the street below and it did not have double glazing to cut down the noise. Not suitable for anybody old and infirm.
The situation of the hotel was excellent for exploring Bilbao. Using the tram was easy and very inexpensive.
There is no lift so anyone having a problem with using the many stairs must take note of this. Underground parking is a fair distance away - about 10 minutes walking. Our GPS correctly found the lane to enter the Old City but as it appeared to be a pedestrian walkway, we circled for a long time before deciding to leave the car at the parking garage and take our luggage by hand.
Very centralized location
A room with a small window with no view and no elevator
The hostel was very central, basic but clean with hot showers and helpful staff
No escalator and the hostel is based on the third floor. Not funny having to take luggage up over three flights of stairs. This should be pointed out when booking. Extremely noisy all night
Very well located, with a nice view. Very confortable, clean and modern. Decorated in blue and white, very nice! We really enjoyed our stayed at this hostal. For the price we payed, it was perfect! highly recommended!
- location - very friendly staff - wifi works perfect - price - hotel-feeling - underground parking around the corner (only 17 euro/24h)
- no elevator (hostal at 3rd floor) - very noisy at night (the street gets cleaned at 2 am!) but we've read some other reviews in advance so we brought earplugs: problem solved! - tv: all channels dubbed in Spanish
