Spartan accommodation. The room I was given was very small and "borderline acceptable" for a short stay. It was hot and airless when I arrived. Window difficult to open. I was given a small portable fan, which helped to some degree. However, the other power outlet was not working, so I couldn't charge my devices at the same time. There is an inconvenient/ hazardous step between the bathroom and main room. Also, 73 steps to climb from street level to the third floor. An elevator will be installed, which is a necessity (people with disabilities; older, less fit travelers).
This pension is extremely well-located in an interesting area, Bilbao's old town (Casco Viejo). Close to many restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. As well, the young woman at the reception desk is very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
