- Perfect location - Very clean

- Very noisy, you could hear everything from the hallway. No noise from outside though. - Night watch guy seemed to be Skyping or talking long after midnight, which was so loud we couldn't sleep.

The staff was very very friendly. My room was clean and simple. It was a bit loud outside, but the location was perfect for city tour.

The hotel has a perfect location, its above a very busy street but it was not disturbing while sleeping, however I was accomadate in a corner room. The room is very cleen, nicely decorated, Heating/AC works well, personal very friendly with fair english. Recommended for single traveller or couples

I find very annoying that the door on the 2nd was closed and I didnt receive keys so everytime the receptionist must be called to open it.

The reception lady is really nice, can speak English. Location is excellent, near Metro Opera and Sol. Room is clean. Even though room is not very big, but it's comfortable.

Just near by the main street, a little bit noisy during night, but still acceptable.

It is a hostal which meant it was very noisy: you can hear conversations, tv and music my single room only had a small window opening on a building

the location, the hostel is very centrally located near the plaza Mayor and the Puerta del Sol. The hostel is situated on the 2nd floor in the building.Very large and beautiful rooms. Very helpfull and friendly staff. Exellent place to stay when visiting Madrid.

Great location Great staff and very comfortable. I had a street side room and enjoyed the noise from the activity below. Closing the window doors and shutter can block out almost all of the sound if you require much quieter. Rooms are on second floor and above and there is an elevator. To get into the building there is a buzzer at front door and just wait for the click and push door open. I highly recommend this Hotel. To have your room cleaned each day just leave the key with them and get it back from reception when you return.

Staff friendly & very helpful. Modern, clean, comfortable room, ensuite & with air conditioning. Extremely good value for money. Central location a bonus. Would definitely stay here again and would whole heatredly recommend.

The twin room was clean and decent size for two. Had a fridge and a very small balcony with double glazed doors which helped screen out the noise from the busy street below. Location was great, less than 20 mins walk to most sights in Madrid central city.

The internet signal was so poor it was pretty much unavailable for the whole two days we were there. Reported to reception (at Hostal Mayrit on floor above) but was uninterested in doing anything to improve as his signal was fine - he was standing a metre from the router. If internet access is not important for you then I recommend Hostal Ivor, otherwise you would be best to stay somewhere else.

- Location: very very good location near sol and opera metro stations. Near some very good and famous food outlets such as La Casa (cod fritters & croquettes) and Chocolateria San Gines (churros) - check them out on tripadvisor! Note: See addition note about its location below!!! - Notable amenities: Small refrigerator in room, as well as a bathtub. - Room specific: The room was slightly bigger than expected (considering the utterly central location) and had a good street view of Calle del Arenal (I had room 4) * Note that Hostal Ivor == Hostal Mayritt. The are the same, according to the receptionist.

(1) Location problem: The location is not that shown on the given map as shown on booking.com! Map is inaccurate as going there would land you at a building facing starbucks. If you walked there from sol metro station, walk slightly further down the road, about 150m away (Calle del Arenal). > To get the correct point on the map, copy and paste the given text address on to google maps. - Despite this little misrepresentation however, I still stand by what I said above, that the location is pretty much PERFECT for Madrid city trips. > Summary - IF YOU see starbucks, you are at the wrong place!! Look out for the Mango store instead (2) Made us wait outside the building under the hot sun while we buzzed the intercom repeatedly. The hostal was all the way on level 3 of the building! Later, we found out that the receptionist was doubling as the chambermaid and was busy clearing our room rather than manning the reception - and thus was not aware of the intercom buzzing away (while we stood outside the building perspiring away). This is not really a complaint of her - it wasnt really her fault, but i feel that this system isnt really good. (3) Blankets are incredibly thin - more like sheets! Overall this hotel is not bad, except for the poor welcome given (bad first impressions). The location alone is good enough reason for one to try out this hotel, however - yep it's really THAT good
