he Colorful Soul of the Costa del Sol
The birthplace of Picasso is as colorful as an artists palette, from the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea to the golden sun, which gives 300 days of sunshine per year. Malaga is historically and culturally interesting, very walkable, sunny, not too long a flight from the UK and by the sea. It has some very good restaurants and excellent tapas bars. Good quality food and drink is readily available and relatively cheap. It has a spectacular food market and lots of quite high end shopping. It's also on the Spanish high speed train service and most other Spanish cities are easy to reach from Malaga.

Yes, Malaga is a great place to visit. We particularly liked the castle, the beach and the Picasso museum. Be aware that Malaga is a very popular party city and that it gets very crowded particularly when many cruise ships are in port. The historic centre is great for eating and drinking and has good shops and bars. Do not stay in this part of town if you like to get a good night's sleep as it is very noisy all night and then again in the morning as the bars and so on restock. Better to choose an accommodation option near to the centre but accessible to public transport, which is excellent. Also be aware that to get taxis if you sty in the pedestrianised centre you have to walk some way with cases to a point where they can pick you up.

An exciting and vibrant city with so much to see and do - especially for art lovers! So many art museums and the Roman theatre and Alcazaba are also so worth a visit. Small specialist shops, plus a wonderful fabric shop behind the ATARAZANAS market.
