This guest house is located in the historic old town in the centre of Tarifa and is an ideal base from which to visit this wind surf capital and its surrounding areas. Hostal La Calzada's rooms are simple and cosy and the establishment is perfectly located only a few minutes from the port and the beach. It is also near the nightlife and traditional tapas bar route. For surfers, there are numerous specialist cloth and equipment shops in the town. On the outskirts of the town there are spectacular landscapes such as the Roman ruins of Bolonia. The guest house organises excursions to these ruins, as well as to Morocco and Guzmán Castle. You can also go whale watching. Very helpful staff, nice room and bath. Price. Old town. Tarifa is great! Closeness to beach and port/ferry to Tangier. Local restaurants. Vibe. WiFi would not work up in room. A breakfast would always be nice, but not necessary. Keep doing what you're doing.

A great location in the old town, the staff were very friendly, room clean & quiet at night, would definately stay there again. Parking is not easy we would recommend parking outside the old town & walking in.

Staff was friendly and always available. Room was very clean and nicely decorated. Good central location. We appreciated being able to buy a beer or softdrink in the lobby. Shower was very small. Balcony overlooked narrow alley with a view of wall. These are minor things... overall it was a very good place to stay.

We spent two nights at this hostal before going to Morocco. The ferry/port is five minutes away on foot - very convenient. Also it was close enough for a day trip to Gibraltar. The old town is very compact so the location was excellent. Staff did not speak any English so even with my few words of Spanish communication was a bit of a problem. We paid cash and they would not give us a receipt. Also the room, though cozy, had a bit of a mold smell in the bed/mattress - probably due to dampness being close to the sea.

Location was very good. In the centre of Tarifa and close to everywhere. The room was way too small and dated. It was also missing basic stuff, such as handsoap. There were just two small packets of shampoo, but nothing to wash your hands with. The staff, although friendly, speak nothing else beyond Spanish, so it's difficult to get any information.

We were given a warm welcome and the hotel was spotlessly clean throughout. It is centrally situated, next to the Church and the centre of town with all its bars and shops.

La chambre était propre et confortable. L'hôtel est bien situé, à proximité des attraits et de la plage. Les rideaux de douche qui collent au corps, c'est un peu désagréable. Également, il y avait une odeur d'eaux usées à mon arrivée dans la chambre, mais ça a passé en laissant la fenêtre ouverte.

Muy linda habitación, excelente ubicación y muy buena atención. No es un gran problema, pero a otros viajeros tal vez les sirva saber que para nuestra habitación había que subir dos pisos por escalera. Por lo demás, todo perfecto.

hotel bardzo mile nas zaskoczył - czysto, bardzo ładne wnętrze, na samej starówce. Żałowałam, że nie miałam tam zaplanowanych więcej nocy :) wszystko było w porządku - same plusy!
