Score from 935 reviews Very good
Excellent location tucked behind Grand Vía. Perfect for a solo traveller. Especially the price. Less than a one minute walk to the main strip. And ten minutes from the Royal Palace. Anna, one of the workers, is extremely nice! She doesn't speak English but is willing to use her translator to communicate with you :)
The room was quite small. I stayed in the single bed room wjth a shared bathroom. I would recommend upgrading to a double bed room with private bathroom. BUT, If you're fine with a tiny room with no flare, go for it. The tv was super old in my room and didn't turn on. But I just used YouTube instead and watched videos on their super fast wifi. The woman that owns the hotel is quite rude. I am unsure of her name. She yelled at me in the morning and told me to switch rooms. I understand explaining the reason why I had to switch rooms. But there is a massive communication barrier and all she could do was yell in Spanish. I guess she thought the louder she yelled, the better I would understand???
Free Wifi in the room
The lift & the room is too small. The bed is not comfortable & too noisy.
It was very clean and two member of staff were friendly.
Fridge didn't work on my last day and also hair dryer didn't work while I was blowing my hair and not finished yet.
central location,good price
a bit hard to find, staff do not speak english but they do try and help so not rearly an issue
We stayed 2 nights there, I don't know if it was the staff or the guests but they kept chatting and arguing loudly until 4 am for both of the nights. The walls are not soundproofed. Worst experience in Europe
The staff is incredibly friendly and can help you for anything. The location is perfect for visiting Madrid by foot.
When we were at the room, the woman(maybe she is the master) came into our room without our permission. We were very tired, so we didn't want to be disturbed, but she knocked continuously and came into our room without any apology or any explanation. It was terrible.
Great location, friendly and helpful staff.
Room was very small and needed a bit of tlc. The WiFi signal was so weak that it was useless.
I spent three week in hostel Estrella and I was really satisfied. The hostel was very clean and landlady was really nice lady. She don't speak english but she always try to help you. Hostel have the best location. Is next to Grad via and Plaza de Espana. If you want to party in the night you will love it the location. Because you needn't to wait for first metro or must take the last one. Everything is very close to the hostel. And also hostel is situated in calm street. So don't worry about your sleep.
Like in every hostels and hotels, hostel estrella have thin walls. But if you will take Earplugs you won't have problem.
