The family-run Hostal Rober is centrally located, 2 minutes’ walk from Madrid’s Puerta del Sol. It offers a 24-hour reception and free Wi-Fi throughout. All air-conditioned rooms have a flat-screen...
Score from 125 reviews Excellent
This hostal exceeded our expectations. It is centrally located and within walking distance to all the major tourist spots. The hotel manager was very genial and friendly and gave us a comfortable room and also a kettle! We felt at home immediately and had a lovely two night stay. The bed was comfortable , the air conditioning was fine and overall it was a clean and restful place. An absolute bargain for students and budget travelers given the location and facilities. I would strongly recommend it and would love to stay here again!
Wi-fi was a bit slow at times.
The location is very central !!Everybody was friendly there!!!I Love this hotel!!Its the third time i come!!
Great location, facilities were really good given the very reasonable rate. Free wifi with great connetion. Air Con. Friendly & helpful staff.
Couldn't fault it
Friendliness and Cleanliness ..
Excellent location, good sized room, excellent low price
awkward getting luggage up and down, but OK
Good location, heart of the city with quick access to transport(opera and Sol stations are nearby). Most of the places to visit can be easily done walking around the city. Good places to eat(vegetarian) nearby. Room is a bit small but the icanf you are not going to spend much time other than sleeping, then makes no difference. Quite safe an area.
Coffee machine was broken and nothing was done about it during my stay.
Room 28 is a dump. It should not be let in current condition. Appalling!
Its in the centre of madrid value for money Air conditioned and very Clean!!that was what i was looking for!
The hostel is near everything so that was awesome, the wifi worked perfectly, the bedroom was very cozy and the staff very polite.
My bf and I had some problems in finding the hostel, its not very well signalised that was the only significant problem we had. Maybe if they change the hostel sign near the bell that wud be enough cuz we cudnt even find the right bell button to press, i ended up pressing 3 different ones haha
The location is excellent and the staff were fantastic. Extremely helpful and friendly, they really went out of their way to help. Rooms are basic, but clean and comfortable. One thing to note about the rooms- the double room I was in was very small, which was absolutely fine for one person and for one night, but for 2 ppl it would've have been too small. So check the size of your room when booking. But very happy with the hotel and would definitely stay there again.
I stayed in a single room which was clean and comfortable along with the rest of the hostel. Staff were freindly and helpful. The hostel is situated in a great location within walking distance of all key sites. Strongly recommend this hostel.
Tomas and the rest of the staff were so helpful and kind. They gave us great restaurant recommendations and were always available for questions.
Super small rooms, but that wasn't really a problem. GREAT value for the price.
It is an excellent place with small but comfortable rooms with everything that you need for short stay. I have been there for three nights and I would stay again. It is in a hart of the city center. Firstly it was not easy to find and I would like to explain how to get there by metro. Come out of the station named opera, then when you get out from subway from your left side will be opera tourn around so now is opera from your right side go straight 15 meters tourn in first street left then first street right, you will be on the right street and hostel is at number 10 brown woody door. You need less then 5 min. Hope that this will help someone. For breakfast they offer 3 meals, one is sweet and two are not :) . Also on a daily basis bed linen and towels are changed which was great for me.
During weekend WiFi can be a little slow, but in the corridor on the 2nd floor you can find a pc I didn't use it.
great place and position helpfull staff
a bit noisy the street front
Very good hotel! Clean and calm! Very close to metro! Just in the centre of the city! There are a lot of cafes near.
The lady at the front desk was very professional and nice.
The man at the front desk who claimed to be the director of the hostal screamed at me when I came up with my luggage to check in: "IS that all that is YOOOURS?" in a very disrespectful way and made me feel very unwelcome. I'd come up in the elevator with my daughter's and my luggage while my daughter stayed downstairs waiting to send the luggage two by two upstairs as the elevator is very tiny. On top of that he denied me late checkout, rudely told me there was no vacancy after that night and when I checked out the next morning and informed him after checking myself with the room maid that the tv didn't work, he screamed at me so loud that my daughter heard him from the first floor! He was yelling at me off the top of his lungs like a mad man and extremely aggressive: "WHAT are you sayiiiing??? The tv WOOOOORKS!!!!". I replied that it didn't and that the maid had already checked and he went nuts replying: "THE tv wooooorks, come with me upstairs, you're calling me LIAR!!!" I told him I'd already left the room and didn't have to go anywhere. When my daughter came up and asked him to tone it down because I'm a senior citizen and have high blood pressure, he approached her and walked up to her face very defiant and with a very violent demeanor and yelled at her that that's the way he speaks and that we were being taped. My daughter told him she'd check my blood pressure and would make him responsible for anything that happened to me and he screamed at her: " I have high blood pressure also!
Couldn't be more in the center of the city. Great crew and comfort. Really enjoyed staying there.
Room was cleaned each day. Breakfast was good. Good location and access to metro. Office staff very nice.
My room was a shoebox. I did not receive the directions so I had a very difficult time finding it. It is located on an alley street with graffiti writing.
Very good location, everything is close to the hostal. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean and nice.
Poor Wifi connection on the 2nd floor
the room is a bit small, but ok for solo traveler
Location Staff very friendly and helpful
Street room, very noisy even with windows closed. Bed too small, feet outside and I'm only 1m77. No option with Booking.com to order with or whithout breakfast. Awful owner who did not stop discussing about previous comment. No isolation, could here EVERYTHING from neughbours. Very slow internet, not even possible to skype...
Location, price and most of the staff
Very small room, but at the same time this was acceptable
The value for money was excellent. It is very safe and well situated in Madrid. It suited our purpose to stay for one night.
You cannot easily locate the place.
