Score from 98 reviews Good
Very good location, close to Chueca, supermarkets & subway.
Only half the rooms have wifi, beds are not very comfortable, overhead fans do not help much cooling the rooms down in summer.
Excellent location and staff were pleasant. Excellent value for money.
Only 20 euro for a single room, in the middle of Malasaña, quiet at night
Smell from the bathroom, grumpy owner (didn't feel welcome)
Staff very friendly, had help me with a lot of things.
Nothing in specific.
the location is not easy to find and you can easily get lost. the smell of the hostel is terrible, so is the cleanliness. you can't sleep coz you can hear everything going onin the other rooms even other bathrooms. the guys there only speaks spanish no english. there's no AC. the wifi is only connected in the lobby. there's no elevator, you have to go up the stairs with your luggage. its charges higher than other hostals that have better location and facilities.
great location. great wifi. very nice double room. very clean.
no air conditioning. it was hot in the spanish summer. in the winter it's not a problem.
Cheap price, clean room
Staffs cannot speak English at all
The location of the hostel is close to the city center and close to the metro station ( Placa de Espanya) where two major lines intersect. The room was clean and comfortable. I didn`t find air condition but a big fan on the ceiling of the room did the work just fine.
The only things I didn`t like was the street on which the hostel was located (little bit dirty ) and the fact that you will have to be a little bit careful not to pass by the location because it doesn`t have any big sign for you just the name of the hostel on the intercom of the building. So if the problem with the location advertisement will be solved I think it is like I said in the title " a gem for the budget backpackers".
Lots of value for low budget.
Nobody speaks english.
Very clean. Handy for the centre and local shops and bars.
Our room was onto the street and we couldn't get much sleep Friday and Saturday night due to the noise in the street. We stayed out til 2 but the noise didn't stop until 7am.
Location, hot water, reasonably cheap, strong wifi.
Didn't speak English, no information/advice given, they advertised drinks/snacks but refused to give them when asked, bathroom very small, very hot room- no Ac and fan was useless, just made a noise!
Not very expensive, not far from metro station, near the supermarket
Really cute place. I had a tiny room with a bathroom down the hall..I was only in Madrid for one night so it was perfect for me. I saw there were other rooms with bigger beds and a bigger space that I would have paid a little bit extra for but I only paid like 15 euro for the night so it was great!
The idea of a Shared bathroom...but for 15 euro it was fine.
Great location, clean rooms, good price.
It's in the centrum, so one must be aware it can be noisy during weekends.
Hmm..reception manager just talk about the room and keys. And nothing. I have never seen her for4 days. I was surprised that the shower place is just next to the door and bed.
The room was small but very clean and was cleaned thoroughly everyday. The bed was also made very nicely each day and it was obvious a lot of effort was put into it. Despite the location near several bars the noise was not too bad. The room did not have A/C but the ceiling fan did a good job of keeping us cool. The location was good. Not in the centre but close. Many shops, bars and cafeterias were close by and the subway was 5 mintues away. The price per night was excellent, especially since it included a private bathroom.
All the of the problems were in the bathroom; The temperature of the shower was very difficult to control and would change suddenly on it's own. The water also drained very slowly almost causing a flood in the bathroom. Sometimes the toilet would not flush. We were only given one toilet roll at a time so had to ask each time we needed a new one.
No wifi inside the room.
Bed surprisingly comfortable. Price is right.
In bathroom every noise next door was heard. WIFI only available in hall by reception area.
For the price, it was really great.
Very good place in the centre, close to underground and shops.
Very good palce. Nice and friendly people. Cozy atmosphere
LOCATION GOOD PRICE
Location, small but cozy room, no need to be bigger, nice shower.
The room (nr 1) is next to the entry hall and some light comes through the door as well as noise when guests arrive.
Friendly staff, nice and clean room. Staff was not speaking any English bu they were trying to communicate with us using Google translator and helping us with our queries.
I can't think if I didn't like anything.
Good location and perfect host. The rooms were spotlessly clean the shower was fantastic loads of hot water and toiletries supplied as well brilliant. If I come back to Madrid would be sure to return
