- room was very clean - fair price - internet working well - although the room was small, everything one would need was there
- heating turned off during the day, it was cold - staff although friendly doesn't speak English - walls are clairaudient - you can hear your neighbour snoring in his bed
Excellent location, though on a busy street and close to shopping area, we didn't hear any noise from the street. And the room is cozy and comfy. The staff team is very helpful and friendly.
Though the staff team is really nice, but it seems none of them speaks English. A lot of guess and body language were used while communicating with the team.
Location! Photos don't do it justice. Great facilities!!
Welcome, clean comfortable room and value.
The occasional elephant on the stairs clomping
Close to Puerta del Sol. Very clean, now has a lift. Access to property easy. Arranged shuttle to airport for a reasonable price.
We were in a room backing onto reception and could hear conversations.
the shower... the cleaningness... the save... the towels.... the pressure in the shower.
the owner... having to ring the bell to get inside the Hostel....
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The location perfect. Friendly staff (even though they don't know any English). It was like staying in a family home. Really nice vibe.
The location is prefect, it is on the busy shopping street, but it has double windows that you can't really hear the noise from the street. One block away is the virbant neighbourhood, Cheuca. You can find all the local stores, especially if you love shoes. The food market few blocks away offers Tapas for only 1euro, delicious and feel like locals. This hostal is worth the value, clean bedding sheet and pillow.
The staff can't speak English, it is a bit difficult to communicate. However they are nice people though you can feel. The area is very busy, lots of shops. If you don't like on the busiest street then you may find it too crowded.
Hostal is about 100-200 meters from the Gran Via metro station. Very easy access from the airport. Free Wi-Fi. Friendly staff. 24 hour reception. You can walk most of the highlight points of madrid. At Gran Via there is a big McDonald's that open 24 hour. It is a safe place.
No one speaks english.
Good hotel, basic, but at a great spot and very good price!
Location and staff excellent
Beds a little to short and hard
Location is perfect, close to Gran via shopping street, main sights can be reached within walking distance( if you like walking). The staff is helpful, friendly, although doesn't speak English at all.
Sometimes, wifi doesn't work properly.
The noise from outside. Thin walls, we listen everything from outside and other rooms. Just that.
Excellent place, wonderful staff, quiet, clean spacious rooms, everything works, safe, surrounded by shops
Location, stuff., rooms and prices
The hostal was warm, welcoming, and clean. The furnishings are old style and basic but comfortable. I had a little room that was perfect for me. The location was right in the heart of central Madrid. It was a typical European pension. If I return to Madrid, I will definitely stay there again.
Very good location, clean, wi-fi
Communication with Staff: they understand English, but answer Spanish. We received an internal room with a small window. The window exited to something like “hole” between walls
The hotel is perfectly located, practically in the center of Madrid, low cost. Separate thanks to the employee of hotel who occupied us. Such participation and desire to help guests very seldom meets in hotels.
The hotel is on a pedestrian street therefore to approach by the car very not easy.
Needed an English speaker on reception!!
The location was superb, 200 mtrs from the metro, service bus and tour bus. The room was spotless and cleaned every day. Excellent value for money.
The location of the hostal was close to go anywhere and Gran via metro station. A single room was small but it was perfect for a person. There are air conditioning and good wifi. Especially I liked cleanness. Everyday they clean up my room after I left this hostal.
The staffs cannot speak English so I was difficult to communicate but they were friendly.
service people are kind clean
the bed is not very comfortable no english speaking service
the great location, coffee machine, helpful staff. My room was very clean everyday, and the room was warm - doesn't happen regulary in city centre's cheap places out of the summer...
very very noisy... but this is usual in spanish hostels or low budget acommodation... they talk allllllllll the time in the aisle and walls are not good enough... If your room has a front window to the street it's worse... but comparing to other cheap places in the city centre I've stayed, I can say this is one of the bests!
