Just a 4 minute walk from Gran Via Metro Station, Hostal Cibeles is in an excellent location for Madrid’s bars, restaurants, shops and entertainment. Lively Chueca is just a short walk away.
Score from 325 reviews Good
neat, and very clean, location, nice rooms, staff :)
Very close to the metro, shopping and restaurants.
VERY noisy. Smallish rooms. Not super clean.
The localization is totally PERFECT. Just 3 minutes from Gran Via! Very good point for travelling and enjoying city. Really worth it's price.
It's hard to say something wrong, but maybe for some people with light sleep, the outside elevator may be disturbing during the night (because of the noice).
Everything was just great for the budget everything was amazing and the staff so lovely
friendly staff, clean and cheap.
noisy lodgers in other rooms, crying and yelling deep into the night
leaving in the morning
NOISE ! It was impossible to sleep until 2.30- 3.00am due to outside noise (on a wet Thursday night)with the window tightly closed and the shutters down. People in the next room could be heard clearly very late at night, until I eventually asked them to be quiet. Never again
The hotel is situated in a very central place. The price we paid was more than reasonable. The room was a fair size and the shower was spotless.
our room was at the back and there was a monotonous noise coming through an open window we left. I discovered it was the engine of the elevator that was interrupting my sleep:-( However, I still think that value for money this place is very good!
Location, price, staff, cleaning.
Window without blackout curtains, room was not too dark at night. We could be watched from other guests and staff.
Everything was really nice. We stayed there for two nights. It's really good placed hotel, two mins from Gran Via in a beautiful district Chueca. Stuff is friendly, speak English very well. Rooms are small, but clear and light. Free Wi-Fi with a high speed. We had no any problems. And the price is really great. Thank you very much, guys!
Great location and the hotel itself is on the third floor of an apartment block. Great character and plenty of nice restaurants and shopping nearby. Very very small bathroom but quite adequate.
Our room was right near the entrance door and we were often woken with people coming and going. Our main problem was a bright light on the street outside our bedroom window and it was always daylight as the curtains were a light see through fabric.
Very friendly, welcoming staff. Generous sized room with en suite. Perfect central location. Very affordable.
Clean place in a great location. Room was quiet with the window away fRom the street.
Wi-fi didn't work, had signal, but none of our devices could get an IP. Guy wasn't helpful and didn't want to restart the router. Staff doesn't speak English if that's something you're looking for. Room was quite small. Only one free plug in the room.
The elevator (lift, ascensor) went to the door. In some buidings on the same street, one must walk up or down a half flight of stairs. The room was quiet and comfortable The refrig was perfect for having breakfast in the room. There's a supermarket next door.
The bathtub would be fine for anyone under 5 years old.
Everything concerning this hotel is perfect. It was the first time for me being in Madrid and we were so impressed how useful was the hotel. The hotel located near all attractions and the staff were so helpful. Overall no single problem
Old owner couples were so nice and helpful. Hostel location is excallent, it is close to sol square like a 2 mins by walking. Hostel is clean, comfortable and very nice for young couples.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The location couldn't be beat. The rooms were clean and quiet.
I didn't like having to ring to be let in. I would rather have had a key to the outside door.
Excellent location friendly staff good for the money.
noise you can hear other room shower.
Great location and friendly staff.Good value for money
The man at the reception doesnt speak english
The location, the price, easy to find, friendly staff
Plumbing a bit noisy
The front staff (owner) is rude and rasis that I ever see..never smilling and there scold to the customer! the room is noisy, no privacy at all internet is so terrible! you can't access the hostel rule just like army camp you can't leave your bag most tourist get the same experience, unless you are spanish not RECOMMENDED hostal!!!
Hostal María Luisa has everything one may need for a wonderful stay in Madrid: it is two steps from Gran Vía and from lively Chueca, staff is always polite and helpful, there are lots of restaurants and cafés around, where you can have breakfast, a good meal and/or a glass of wine with tapas in a very friendly neighborhood. The hostal is extremely well kept and ideally clean, spacious; rooms are not small, toilets new. I always stay here when I come to Madrid, for around one week once a year.
There is nothing I don't like about Hostal María Luisa, everything is OK.
Room was quite spacious. Location is ANAZING. Price is very good.
Although I requested a room with good wifi reception, my phone got constantly disconnected. When I complained to the woman at the reception, she said there is a problem with cell phone connection to the routes and she can't do anything. We got room #2, which is right next to the entrance door and heard each and every person coming or going, day and night. The bathroom as TINY but satisfactory.
perfect location, just at the city center within 3 minute walk to Gran Via and 10 minute to sol. near busy street, but very quiet. fast wifi. several restaurants and supermarkets around, very convenient.
the socket is deep inwards, adapter cant be put in, thank god we brought a portable charger. staff is not very friendly, and only speak very little English.
The location, just a block off f Gran Via and very near the Gran Via metro station, was fantastic. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the wi-fi was fine. The staff, while speaking relatively little English, were helpful and did their best to help us communicate. We liked it enough to use it again on our return trip.
It is a bit tricky to find (a small sign on the side of the door is the only thing announcing it's location) and the walls were thin enough to make every door shut, and every hallway conversation a very real part of your night's stay. Also, you have to leave your key at reception and ring the bell to get in every time you leave the hotel. This is not actually a problem, just something I wasn't used to.
location, 24h reception, cheap price, cleanliness
bed was too short (I'm 1.88cm tall), we checked out at 12.05pm and the staff was extremely unfriendly because of that
