Great location, too many places of food around... The room was at the end of a big labirint. At least three hotels work at the same building, and we had to pass for some cleaning materials to reach our room.

Location was perfect.Really close to the metro station. 10 minutes walking from plaza del sol. The room that was initially given to us was really really small with a broken window and view to the skylight. However, they gave us another room when we asked to. The second room was a bit bigger but it faced to the street and it was really noisy. Moreover, the bathroom had nothing to do with the photos shown in booking.com. It was really small and the bath tab as well as some of the tiles were broken. In general, the pictures shown in the site have nth to do with the actual rooms. At least not with the ones that we saw.

The location of the hostel is close to shopping venues, metro station and tourist interests. The staff was helpful and kind they gave me my breakfast at night since I was leaving very early before the breakfast is served. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes next to the hostel. The hostel is basically a hostel so no high expectations to be considered, it was good enough to sleep and stay for city trip.

The location was excellent, and in a lovely, narrow street close to Atocha and Puerta del Sol. Simple but was what we wanted. Breakfast is a good deal too. Getting back in later at night may be a bit problematic, but there were provisions for that.

Helpful staff, good and well priced breakfast. Plenty of hot water. Individual room air cond. hall and stairs have sensor lights coming on when you need them. My grand-son, age 10, and I were in a very small room, little space to place 2 suitcases, but the bathroom was good size and everything worked. wish they had provided a hair-dryer. beds are very very firm.

The greatest aspect about the hotel is its location. Most major tourist attractions, like Plaza de la Sol, Museum Prado, the Royal Palace, are within walking distance. The traffic is also convenient, with a Metro station nearby, within five minutes' walk. Another good aspect about the hotel is that it has a kitchen where the customers can cook themselves. Great place for backpackers. I think the facilities are a little bit outdated, especially the elevator which is somehow scary. Also, the hotel is severely understaffed. There was often only one staff at the reception, so customers had to wait a long time to be served.

Location: 5mins walk from Sol. Friendly staff. Overall, good value for money. Confusion (deliberate?) between Cervelo (1st and 2nd floors) and Martin (3rd floor) - they have the same reception. Cervelo rooms appear to be smaller, while Martin has bigger rooms and has been recently refurbished (bigger bathroom, bigger TV, AC). Stayed one night in Cervelo and then asked to be moved to Martin - staff were friendly and happy to do so. Breakfast - quite good, but limited options. Boring if you stay more than a long weekend. And the bf room is somewhere across the street. Bf is good value for money, nonetheless.

Location, location, location. A short walk downhill to the three great museums, a few steps from the lovely Plaza St Anna and Plaza Angel, about 5 minutes walk to Sol and to Plaza Mayor, and a 20 minute downhill walk to Atocha station. My single room had a comfortable bed, good lighting, free wi-fi with excellent signal strength, plenty of hot water and towels, and pleasant decoration. The Hostal offers a lounge with some PCs, free breakfast across the street, some visitor information from the friendly staff. My room was in the back so there was no street noise which people who want quiet might specially appreciate. The Hostal shares a building with two other hostals and reception is on the FIRST floor while your actual room could be on the 3rd floor. There is--thankfully---an elevator. Look from the street upwards for the sign at Atocha 43. Oh---warning. The hill also goes up---as in steep, precipitous and exhausting to haul a lot of luggage from Atocha. Taxis at Atocha may NOT take you for this short a distance because they have been waiting for a lucratuve fare. OK, go around the roundabout to the next big street by the Botanical Garden and get a cab from there unless you want a heavy duty workout! Highly totally recommend the restaurant Ginger in Plaza Angel----marvelous Menu del Dia choices and excellent service. Neigborhood is fine at least during the day and Hostal seems fine re security, which as a solo traveller in her 80s, I value. Nothing just keep your expectations realistic. This is a fine budget hotel and an excellent value in the museum area. If you need Frette linens and rooms so large you get lost, this is not your choice.

The staff were very friendly & helpful. They booked a taxi to the airport for us.The hostal is central & we were able to walk to the places of interest we wanted to visit. The best bathroom i've had in the 3 hostals i've stayed at so far. Would have liked an extra pillow
