Score from 741 reviews Very good
The (older) lady that served us was rude and arrogant from the very start. She should not be working in hospitality at all.
The location is perfect - close to all major sightseeing sites in the city. The room had its own bathroom, although the add said it would be shared (I guess it was luck, as I saw other rooms with no bathrooms).
My room was quite noisy as the ''window'' looked to the building staircase and even though it was closed, it was quite noisy all night. The host spoke only Spanish, but it was not a problem for me.
Locations is excellent.
Smell of tobacco everywhere. Beds not comfortable.
Location is excellent. 2 minutes from Puerto del Sol.
Very rude staff. We arrived with Spanish friends who helped us to check in. We had booked a double room but got a room with 3 singles instead, even though we asked our Spanish friends to help ask to change rooms but the woman refused. wouldn't stay there again or recommend it to anyone. Unfortunate, as the location is so great!
Location and price
No wifi even though advertised
Perfect localization; Near Puertas del sol; Near to 24h supermarkect; Really clean;
Lot of noise during the morning
My room and hostel itself was clean. It was comfortable and quiet to sleep. It's very good place for its price. Location is excellent.
with out aircontinion
Excellent location between P Sol ja P Mayor.
The Location was great. if the room had a small fridge (minibar) it would have been awesome.
Had to get up 3 flights of stairs with my luggage.
Central location, the staff lady was amazing although couldn't speak much English, comfortable room.
The front room was a designated smoking room so unfortunately the whole place had the scent of smoke which wasn't appealing since I assumed this place was non-smoking, however, this was the only downfall
They only have one bath room (both shower and toilet) for all of their rooms. So you should plan some more time in the morning / if you need to go to toilet.
An excellent choice for young people not requiring comfort at the heart of historic city with bathrooms in almost every room.
A little bit unfriendly for those arriving at night. Not very clean and not quite quiet.
The receipton Everything nice and clean Not far from restaurant Fast internet
No hot water in the room There is a dog in the house
Its location is very good. You can reach almost every thing by foot from there like Plaza Mayor, Catedral de la Almudena, Palacio Real de Madrid. It fits its purpose - somewhere to sleep and take a shower. I've had a bathroom - shower and toilet in my room (not every room has one). Free Wifi.
The personnel doesn't speak English (as almost no other people in Spain). The insulation of the room wasn't so good, especially that of the window. My window looked at the staircase and I could hear everything even with closed windows.
Cheap, clean and right in the centre of Madrid.
Quite everything. Stuff is great and very helpful. Great price-quality-location combination. Wi-fi is fast.
Just long way from room to toilet which sometimes was ocupated, but really I should have chosen a room with WC, that's just my pity
when I went there It wasn't peak season so I did use bathroom whenever I want it wasn't busy and I like the Murcia's location its really really near with Sol
Very good location, just few minutes from the Sol, I can walk to every sights without metro. Safe area, I can enjoying shopping at nigh. Staffs clean the room every day, providing new towel every day.
No kettle, I stayed four night, can't even make a cup to tea. a little noisy
it is in the heart of the city!
Hostal Murcia has excellent location and it is cheap. The building is old, my room was in the courtyard and it has a fantastic staircase. The bed was comfortable and the room clean.
The hostal allowed smoking and it smelled of smoke; so did my clothes after staying there. Although the room and bathroom were cleaned, there were little ants all over the floor. The owners' dog kept barking at people which was very annoying.
Great location. just couple of minutes walk from Sol train station. It took me less than an hour to get there from the airport. Clean room, all necessary was there (i booked room with bathroom). rather fast wifi connection.
window to the stairs. In the morning there was noone at the reception to check out. it was hard to find breakfast nearbay at 7 am (but that's not about hostal)
Location Location Location!!! I looooved that it was in the center of Madrid, puertas del sol, close to anything and everything. I booked a room with a private bathroom, no luxury, but, comfortable and clean and bed was very good. Also the lady (can´t remember her name) at the hostal was very sweet. Checked in still in the morning and she gave us a map with all the main indications. Also, bags were kept at the hostal on the day of checkout, as flight was end of the day. Would definitely go there again.
I found something for 20 euro more than was like a 3 star hotel right around the corner, closer to plaza del sol. This wasn't remotely worth it.
