the location and staffs were very good and helpful
the toliet is a bit small
The central location meant acess to the beautiful city one Madrid was stress free. The room was compact but suited our needs simply for rest over night. The bathroom and room were both clean and when we requested new towels and maid service (by turning the door Handle card round) it was promptly done. Would happily stay here again for a short break.
The corridor has wooden floor so you could hear people walking around when we wanted a lye in (this may have been partly due to our room being one of the first through the main door). The shower head was a little broken but didn't stop it from working (we didn't feel the need to report it to staff but if we had I'm sure they would have sorted it)
Friendly staff Good location, just south of the city center (walking distance) Relatively clean.
Somewhat hard to find (1st floor of an apartment block with a small sign next to the door bell) Rather noisy at night (hallway, other rooms, exterior) Cramped No English language channels on TV (not even CNN, BBC World)
Great Location and friendly staff
Noisy at night
- location: directly in the city centre and close to the metro station - great price/performance ratio
- very dark and small room with almost no access to fresh air
location is good
toilet is too small the air conditioner pipe drain into showering place..... you should know that those water is potntially dirty...
The location is good. Metro buses and taxi very closer. The cleaning is great, the housekeeper was amazing, everything perfect. Had towels cleaned, soap and shampoo on the room, a/c and tv too. Place with elevetor.
The noise of the street at night. Thats all.
Good position in the very centre of Madrid, room small but clean and comfortable.
The street is very animated practically all night and soundproofing against outside noise is not very good. Another thing I didn't like is that they tried to charge my debit card before we were even arrived there, while on booking is clearly specified that you pay when you're there and not earlier.
very central right in the centre of Madrid, friendly staff, clean room, airco, no noise in the rooms at the back of the hostal, breakfast facility right next door
very small room and bathroom, ideal to sleep only but not to stay much time in the room as no space to move around
I liked everything except size of room. Staffs are so kind, rooms are clean, hostel is in the city center and so close to metro station..
The mattress and pillows were good, and the shower was very powerful. The location was brilliant. Few facilities but to be fair, we knew that when we booked, and can't complain for the price we paid.
The room was too small for a double, even by European standards. No Wifi in the rooms. They could get a a Wifi extender as in other hotels. Two nights was enough for us.
- The central location to everything important in Madrid. - Air Conditioning & private bathroom. - The cheap price.
- The building was a little noisy and there were little faults with everything in the bathroom. - Sometimes there'd be no warm water - The sink was ridiculously small. - The shower was leaky and sprayed dirty water for a while.
The location and the price. Located in the lively La Latina district. Nightlife, dining and and shopping at a walking distance.
We stayed there 2 nights. The rooms are basic and small but nicely decorated and the bed quite comfortable. For us it was perfect because the location and price were very good. Room very clean and staff very helpful. We will be staying again.
no AC very small room, incredible small room bad smell from outside
As the reviews say it has one of the best locations. Torso de Molina metro stop is 5 min away and then we have Puerto del sol close by also. Many eating spots in the area and a supermarket nearby. If you are young a dance club is just up the street also.
The area in general is noisy. It does not help that our room had a balcony facing the street. It is true that people in Madrid do not sleep so you hear people yelling until 4-5 am. By that time, we have all the morning crew people working. Try and get a room inside or not windows. That may help the noise.
Worth every penny you pay. Location is fantastic, 1 min walk from Metro, 10 min from Puerta del Sol). Staffs are helpful and friendly. Room is very clean.
Room is small. Communication in English sometimes is challenging.
Very clean room and the staff tried to be very helpful but relied on one maid to speak English.
Room was a bit small
Very close to plaza mayor, Puerta del sol and other attractions. Nice staff.
Thin walls. You could constantly hear the street and sometimes the other guests. Prepare for shouting, partying, dogs barking, glass breaking, sirens and honking.
Very good location and its reasonable price
Staff have difficulty speaking English. We cannot soundly at night because the streets below are very noisy. the room is no sound proof, noise from next room is loud and clear.
Centrally situated in a safe neighborhood. Room is very small but fine for a couple of days. Nicely decorated and clean.
There is a problem with the water of shower coming up from a central tab in the floor of the bathroom so we had clean out water every time.
location, price, clean place, staff
location and cleaning
room too small
The location was truly excellent, within a walking distance to many of Madrid's main attractions and located just a ten minute's walk from the main train station. However, the place itself can be very tricky to find a first, given the lack of appropriate signs. The room was small, but sufficiently clean and comfortable - the shower is to die for!
We were very unimpressed with the unprofessional behaviour of the staff. When we first arrived, tired and hungry after a long journey, we found ourselves waiting for a good half an hour outside the reception room because the receptionist had gone out for lunch even though the we arrived well within the stated check-in time. When the receptionist finally deigned to show up, she was completely unapologetic. Worst of all, however, was the fact that we had money stolen from our room. They were very sneaky in the way that they did not take all the money (as that would have been too immediately obvious) and the fact that they only took the money on our very last day there, as by the time we realised money was actually missing, we had already left to Barcelona and could not confront the staff in person. Another minor quibble is that the walls are really, really thin. Expect to be privy to your neighbour's lavatory and showering habits. All in all, a place with an excellent location and relatively good value for money, so long as you don't expect too much. My advice to anyone planning to stay here would be to try not to leave any money or valuables in the room. You may think your valuables are safe so long as you hide in somewhere safe in the room, but we thought the same. I would advise getting a safe money belt or something. We were appalled that not only was money taken but the thief must have gone through and rummaged through all our belongings in order to find the money (as we had hidden in deep inside one of our luggage's hidden pockets). It was an extreme violation of personal property and I do not think I would be comfortable staying here again.
