Score from 766 reviews Very good
Felt like a quality small hotel room for cheaper than two beds in a dorm. Close to the metro and Main Street, but far enough back that it was quiet.
A little difficult to find as there is no signage
Very kind and helpful staff, everything very clean, perfect location for a short city trip: shopping around, 100 m to metro station, Palacio Real walking distance, lots of nice bars and restaurants around.
Rooms with a window on the street are a little bit noisy, pillows are not the most comfortable.
good location with many metro stations around. The staff was very helpful. The hostal is on the 4th floor and they live on the 5th. Newly redecorate so it's nice and room has everything i needed
Location and price--Very reasonable for two nights in Madrid and within easy walking distance to all major attractions. Owner friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and efficient.
Very small hotel---narrow hallway and small, compact room, bathroom with very limited supplies. Owner speaks little English but tried to accommodate us with information. Very noisy at night with trash collectors coming by about 2 a.m. emptying a large industrial bin from some rehabbing. What's up with one giant pillow on the bed for two people ?
everything is excellent
Perfect location, clean and comfortable rooms. Wi-fi works well.
Not often when there was a person in the reception, even it should have been open from 10:00-22:00.
location, staff, cleanliness, value of money
a little noisy
location, location, location. The managers are very accommodating.
Building is shoddy, old and not well kept. Trash in the front of the entrance, Room was very small. Two average-size adults would have mobility issues. Bathroom tiny. You get what you pay for. Managers do not speak English. Difficult to communicate. Had to call a friend on mobile phone to understand me. No common area. It is a pension.
Very central but quiet place, good room size and interior, individual approach, very friendly and helpful owner
Broken tap and dirty curtain in the bathroom, stairs to pass on the way to the elevator, but nothing big actually
good value for money
Noisy environment. When clients come and leave through the hallway, seem to enter the room. So much conversation between clients and personnel of the Hostel. Horrible!
location was excellent, also the room was really nice and comfortable
Perfect Location, Friendly and helpful staff. Very clean, comfortable beds.
Initially difficult to locate, but fantastic otherwise
The staff was terrific, the location was wonderful, and it was VERY clean.
Smaller than what I expected but adequate.
Have stayed before and I love everything about it!
friendly and helpfull stuff. very good location
pour sound isolation. you can hear all your neighbours are doing
Modern, clean and comfortable room! Well located in the city cente! Good value for money! Very hospitable owners!
Loved it - owners were sweet and felt like I was staying with family! As a single girl who often stays in madrid to catch an early flight, the location was great for the metro. Also the perfect location for everything else, great price, clean and remodeled beautifully - will stay at Hostal Nersan again!
A little noisy from additional guests who came in late and were staying in the next room, but if you are used to a little noise - you will be fine. The downstairs entrance is a bit dark at night, but that is the fault of the building owners and not the hostal.
Our room was comfortable and check in and out was easy. We even added an extra day and there was no problem. Owner/manager and his daughter who spoke better english were eager to please and gave good information on the area.
Wifi was iffy. Not strong enough for good signal. Realizing the entrance was on the 4th floor, may or may not have been our fault (we're not used to foreign addresses with floor designations), but we couldn't figure out where to go. This was made even more confusing by the fact that the manager/owner lives on the floor above and we had to go get them to let us in. Thankfully there were other people who lived in the building that would tell us what to do.
