As regular visitors to the area, in 2014, we have stayed at the Hostal Paris twice. This is a family run establishment that really makes you feel at home, The rooms are clean and comfortable, the lighting is beautiful and there is artwork seemingly on every wall space throughout. The location is excellent with a 2 minute walk to the resort centre, bars and restaurants. The sea and beaches are a 1 minute walk away and there are stunning views from the roof terrace of the surrounding mountains from where you can watch the sun come up or disappear behind the mountains at the end of the day. Unlike a lot of the front line hotels in the resort, the prices have not doubled or trebled in the last 10 years.

The location, near the beach.
There was no airconditioning. The temp was 33 degr., too hot for a place withour airco.
The staff are great and there is a nice atmosphere and a lovely garden at the rear for breakfast. It was only a 2 minute walk to the main port area and very quiet during the night.
Location Breakfast Staff
Uncomfortable beds Had to move rooms 3 days before we left (so that the other couple did not have to move) Loud room (facing the street) No air conditioning - just a loud fan Bathroom - terrible: 1m:1m - two people could not stand inside at the same time Shower was so tiny you could not move
location easy breakfast was ok
soft mattrasses quite loud so don't forget your earplugs bathroom is ok for one, but too small for two persons
our second room overlooking the street (brand new, roomy). Good beds and bed linen. Very pleasant breakfast room and garden
the first room we had with view over the inside courtyard (small, a bit smelly). Lack of variety for breakfast
Good location, lovely breakfast area and garden, very kind and helpful staff, safety box included, very basic but nice equipment, cleanness, touch of traditional feeling..
You could hear bit of noise coming from the corridor esp. in the evening.
Room was basic but clean. Facilities good, good wifi, bar and garden.
More chairs n tables on roof terrace would be nice.
Location excellent and breakfast very good.
Garden needs some tender loving care to improve the outside space especially for breakfast and leisure.
We came to the hostel with my boyfriend and at first no one could find the key from our room. Seemed that the key was taken by the previous guest and we got another. That is why we can't close the door inside the room and can't use the safe! And first time when we went in the room the floor was dirty and sand was everywhere on it! At next morning i woke up because of the smell of sewage! Our shower clogged. We asked to repair it and the hostess said that she can't get through. At this hostel no one wanted to help us. Yes, it's just a hostel, but we lived in great 4 stars hotel in center of Palma for almost the same price!
Public areas Breakfast Cleanliness Near centre
Shower room small Lights go out on stairs Location near centre but a bit gloomy
BREAKFAST WAS FINE THOUGH SAME EVERY DAY. CLEAN AND TIDY.
VERY HOT INDEED NEEDED A/C. VANS NOISY FROM 6AM. THE GARDEN AREA NEEDS A TIDY AS PEOPLE HAVE THEIR BREAKFAST OUTSIDE. WE WERE ON THE TOP FLOOR AND IT WAS A STRUGGLE ESPECIALLY FOR MY WIFE.
Friendly owners and staff. Good cold buffet breakfast with plenty to eat. Comfortable lounge and bar with interesting decor. Big TV in the corner with sport and news channels. Free wi fi. Shady garden. Linen changed alternate days and room cleaned. Handy for beach, marina and town. Peurto Pollensa is unbeatable. Reasonable price.
The weather was very hot and humid which is unusual for September. The bedroom had a fan but it was not enough to make a difference. The room was like an oven, and the shower room was unbearable. We aren't huge fans of air con but it was really needed as sleep was impossible all week. It is a very noisy street. Dogs barking, locals shouting, dustcarts at 4 am and yes this is what you get in Spain, but air con would have meant we could close the windows. The beds were uncomfortable and creaky. I guess not all beds are the same and maybe a room at the back would be quieter. You get what you pay for! We wouldn't stay there again, but would pop in to the bar to say hello.
Fairly central location to beaches, marina and restaurants.
Lack of cleaning in communal areas, bedding changed once and towels changed twice in a 10 day holiday.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
good location, friendly staff, very clean rooms, nice quiet breakfast room, good shower. plenty clean towels
inner room with no outside window or balcony , the cat!!!!!
The location is great either for the beach or town. No dedicated parking but plenty nearby. Room was simple but clean. No aircon but large fan was effective, albeit noisy. No tea & coffee facilities but fine at price. Simple buffet breakfast a bonus and the public space was nice. Overall, great value and, whilst I probably would book something more upmarket if travelling with my partner, it was just right for friends and would stay again.
Fan could have done with an intermediate setting and couldn't lock room from inside. Would prefer to have WiFi in all rooms and not just in public areas.
The location of this hotel/hostel is fabulous. Less then five mins walk from beach, bus terminus, town centre. The breakfast was constantly ok and the coffee was fab. I always liked the way my complaint was dealt with.. (see negatives).
Right, I booked this place on the back of varying reviews. The cost per night I was given was €44 per night. Now in other euro countries I have paid far less per night and received exceptional service and good facilities. The list: lack of cleanliness: I stayed for 7 nights, and not once was my room cleaned. Bed was "made" and toilet roll changed. The temp whilst staying was 34c everyday with high night time temps. The sheets at least should have been changed. No a/c, but noisy ceiling fan. Nets, but no curtains (so no light was blocked out). No TV or tea making facilities (not essential, but it just added to the whole experience). Bathroom so small, that I had one foot in the shower whilst using the toilet. Walls very thin, so can hear other guests quite clearly. Staff more interested in mobile phone than acknowledging guests. I know its a bad economic climate at moment, but the general cleanliness and lack of service just left a bad taste in my mouth. I have spoken to the manager/owner and he apologised profusely and said that these things should have been happening and thanked me for bringing it to his attention. My daily rate was reduced to reflect my comments. Now, if the owner/manager is true to his word and these issues are taken in hand, I would recommend this place. It could be lovely and well worth the money. Sadly, I think (I hope) I just caught them on a bad week.
Proffesional treatment from staff!
Lovely shady little garden with lemon and olive trees at the back of the hostal
A lot of street noise kept me awake
We stayed at the Uyal on a B & B basis because we prefer to visit the restaurants in the resort. If you do this, take into account the 20 minute stroll to the Pine Tree Walk where the majority of restaurants flank the marina. We requested a room in the main hotel and was more than pleased to have a corner location. Spacious, plenty of mirrors, tea & coffee facilities, good hair dryer(not quite salon strength but ok),sofa and minibar fridge. We can only comment in the breakfast which had a very varied choice. Hot and cold. We are not 'pool people' but the area looked OK. perhaps a little cramped without the possibility of rearranging your sunbed to face the sun. The beautiful beach and sea knocked spots off of any poolside. Would we go again? Deffinately !
The air con in our room was erratic and a little noisy. The hanging space in the wardrobe, too small for two. But plenty of shelves and drawers.
We had a warm welcome from both the owner and staff. They were always friendly and keen to help and really put us at ease. Hostal Paris has a central location at the port with a short stroll to a range of restaurants and the beach. La roda, as recommended by the hostal staff, serves a mean burger aswell as more traditional Spanish fare. Also La cabana offers some excellent value and tasty tapas . The breakfast is simple but fine and we enjoyed sitting in the pleasant garden and making friends with a local cat. Amenities are basic but on the whole I would say that the hostal provides very good value for money. We would certainly consider returning in the future.
Would benefit from some air con and possibly a fridge in the room.
The lobby bar was very interesting in design.
The bedroom floors were dirty and were not cleaned while we stayed there over 3 nights nor were the towels changed. The whole place needs a good clean.
Basic accommodation with no frills ok for a low budget holiday. Very pleasant lady on duty in kitchen.
The room (3rd floor) was very basic. Long climb up stairs in heat. Fan and open doors in room were not enough for heat. Limited space for clothes. Had to ask for change of bedding during 11 night stay. Room swept/new towels every other day. Breakfast was basic and dull. The outside area that could be used to eat or sit was infested with ants. Building work (not hotels fault) opposite for several days meant early start. Noise (conversation) from neighbouring bedroom disturbing. Sorry, we would not stay here again.
The Hostal Paris is a lovely little place to stay. We were only there 3 nights. The room was adequate size & had an ensuite bathroom. It was very hot & humid when we were there and air con would have made a difference as the ceiling fan didn't cool the room down. But we still enjoyed our few days there. Paddy & Danny are excellent hosts and make you feel very welcome. The continental breakfast is reasonable & you can have whatever is put out. It is in an ideal location for the beach, bars & restaurants. We had a room at the back so it was quiet. The views from the roof terrace are amazing. We would definitely stay there again.
It would have been great if there was somewhere to hang swim wear/towels to dry after a day at the beach.
