the location and closeness of parking
we were greeted by a man in his pyjamas at 7 in the evening who was extremely unfriendly, and the room only had a shower in it not an ensuite. the room was not clean but did not complain as he almost did not let our daughter stay as she only had her driving licence not a passport, had to be grateful to be there!!!! plenty of other hostels/hotels in the same road which looked much better
At least it has WiFi.
The building, doors, rooms, windows, elevator are very, very old. I tried to call for check-in earlier, nobody answer. The one who is there all the time is an old man who doesn't speak English. The building is very old, the room...oh...! The bad is only covered by curtain (no door, no toilet). You still have to use common toilet. No insulation on the wall, you can hear all noisy until 3 o'clock. I only can sleep after the noise is over (3:30 AM) and made my day in Madrid horrible. If you still want to stay here, make sure to bring ear plug. Common kitchen is not clean. I stayed one day in another better apartment with modern kitchen and bathroom for a lower price than I paid for this, in almost the same area.
There is a cute and talkative old man, advice and chat with him, and you will be happy.
Noisy streets at night, the room is clean to improve.
The location is perfect, right in the city centre and where all the life at night happens. You have lots of restaurants, bars and discos. The hostel is clean, rooms are good enough to sleep and shower if you just want them to that. Rooms have wifi, shower, washbasin, TV and fans. The hostel have a kitchen where you can cook.
Located in the heart of the city, easy walking access to various places of interest. Presents fair value for money.
No day light in a room, as windows were orientated towards the wall.
The floor is very dirty. Hotel is very old.
It was very cheap and very well located, so definitely worth the stay. Clean enough, friendly staff.
good location - almost everithing is close from here 100 montaditos - good and cheap place to drink (1,5 E for beer) and eat shower at the room
rush from the street (expected)
The room was clean and tidy but the toilets weren't and the kitchen was a little grotty... but location and wifi great
With the great location comes noise at night which was to be expected where it is, however someone blowing the leaves with one of them machines at 3am is one sound you can't sleep through
Central location and close to a lot of good bars, restaurants, museums etc.
Dirty old bathroom. Paint covering the dirt it seems. Room was okay but very hot and noisy having to leave the window open
Brilliant location in the centre of Madrid, within walking distance of the Prado and other attractions and near lots of good tapas bars. The hostel was quiet during our stay and comfortable. There is a kitchen which was useful.
Location is perfect, view from the balcony is very pleasant, hostess is very sweet. The price - is overwhelming!!
Furniture seems to be there since the reign of Franco. And all the time i was afraid of ghosts of that period. But the price of hosting is so low, that it doesn't matter.
Very central place, very friendly and helpful staff
Decoration is awful but ok for the price. Shared bathhroom.
It´s located in the center of Madrid, easy and quick to get to the interesting points.
There were some things that we didn't like but the worst was the cleaning of the room. It was filthy, it had hairs all over the sheets and also stains in the bedspread that appeared to be body fluids, the pillowcases were yellow. It seemed that the sheets were not changed. There was also a lot of dust. There was a bucket for garbage but it didn't even had a bag, my girlfriend always put one but in the room cleaning they always took it out. We had to buy blankets because we just couldn't sleep on top of that. The bed and the room in general were really old, there was a lot of noise coming from the street (there is a bar/cafe underneath the building) and from the other rooms as well. The Wi-Fi didn´t work properly, a lot of times it had no signal. The staff, we didn´t find them anything special too. Overall, if Madrid wasn't so good and we didn't had a very good time and experience like we did, the trip could have been ruined because of this room. It was very cheap but it didn´t pay off.
There is a kitchen too to use
Besides of the good location, there was a key to get out of this terrible place!
Terrible circumstances inside; bad smell, very dirty kitchen, dirty rooms and beds, bathroom not clean at all with paint falling from the ceiling, staff not speaking in English at all besides of the owner who was never there, ... (any need to continue?)
Very kind staff, excellent position, clean and comfortable.
Location and staff were excellent. Great value for money.
Joined together pillow
Hostal Regional has fridge which is very helpful for young travelers who can not afford to eat in Madrid city center all the time.
If you dont expect much its perfect value for your money
- Excellent location - Extremely pleasant and helpful staff - Probably one of the cheapest places to find in Madrid
- Very old hostel - Given the condition the rooms were in it seemed unclean although the rooms were done daily. - Cold at night (no heating) - Had an individual bathroom but not much hot water
Rooms were very sipmle, but clean. Staff was very very friendly and kind. And the best benefit is that you can stay in centre of city for little money.
Batrhroom could be in better condition.
