Excellent service from staff.

An amazing building, excellent breakfast buffet, central location. We had just walked the Camino and were dirty and tired but they welcomed us openly.

The history within the hotel and the cathedral is overwhelming, there was no need to visit anywhere else in the district. Added benefit was we were there on Ascention day and witnessed the full mass and the arrival of the walkers from St James way. Incredibly moving. The whole experience of being in the area was exceptional.

The room was very small for 2 single people sharing. Twin beds were more like 1 bed, they were so close together. Heating was poor - the room was quite cool.

All in this hotel is very good. The rooms, baths, cleaner, linnen are perfect and the location is excepcional. The restsurant is the best. Thanks

Location Staff room history accessible to all venues

What we booked with you was different. The tax was included with our booking with you and they charged us the tax. My husband didn't realize it until payment was made and i checked the bill after we had left.

Location, historic building, staff, breakfast, room (large and silent)...in one word: everything!

An historic building (1499) in the best possible location for visiting Santiago de Compostela which has been converted into a first-rate modern hotel. Ate in less formal restaurant (Enxerre [sp?]) both nights and it provides quality dining at modest cost. For an old building, rooms are surprisingly spacious.

Finding the entrance when arriving by car is effectively impossible. Computer direction services refer to street names, but street name signs are mostly missing or invisible. Even if you get close, at the last intersection about 100 meters from the hotel entrance on the main plaza there are signs and bollards which clearly say that private cars are forbidden and this street is packed with pedestrians. In fact you can and must go through this street. Hotel will garage the car for only slightly more than nearby municipal parking garages (Euros 18.50 vs. €16.00).

Atmosphere & Location Room 402 - far superior to Room 407 yet at same price!

Impersonal staff

staff were very off-hand and not very helpful. breakfast service was very poor - no checking if things were finished and needed to be replenished

The location, in the main square is as good as it gets. Front desk staff were good.

Room we were given had no view and the hotel had very few guests so no excuse. There was a slightly sour smell on our floor. Restaurant was not five star and bar staff tried to add an extra two drinks to my bill (front desk cleared the problem). Parking expensive and no alternative available.

A wonderful hotel, steeped in history and extremely well run. Perhaps not the amenities of 5 stars but the beauty and history make up for any shortcomings ie squeaky floorboards.

The wet weather

It is like staying in a living museum. I liked everyting about it ! The staff at the reception very ekstremely helpfull when I had problems with my flight booking back Home. They all tried to help me and called for about half a hour ( i dont speak spanish ).

Everything was really Nice ! Perhaps the bed could have been more compfortable.

The building is extraordinary, and the location unparalleled. The staff was friendly and capable.

Perfect location in the heart of the old city. Like living in a museum. Nice bar and restaurant, excellent food.

The Best there is in Santiago de Cmpostela. After walking the Camino a like bit of luxury is needed and welcome. Its not that expensive

Extremely friendly and attentive staff. Bar cafe was very good. Restauration and condition of the hospital wa execellent. The grounds and tour were very nice as well.

The weather! Too bad it rained all day and was chilly, but the hotel was execllent.

The location cannot be bettered. The hotel itself is fascinating - of great architectural interest and, at the same time, made really comfortable. I am so pleased that I was able to stay there.
