Liked the location and room size. Shared bathroom was excellent and all other staff were helpful and friendly. Really good value for money.
En-suite shower was poor size and quality.
Location, location, location. Easy to find from train station and go to museums. NEW & clean bathrooms. Understanding owner. No kettle but allowed me to heat mugs of water for drinking. Totally recommend this place and would love to return.
If I had to nitpick, Better wall paint colors? Better mattress?
If you stay in Madrid this budget hotel is perfect. Near atocha station about 5 min walk, easy to access city center about 3 stops by bus. especially if you are to see museums, there is no place better than this; just in front of the hostal is reina-sofia, near prado and thyssen-krupp about 5 min walk and many fabulous restaurants on the way. since museums provide free-admission after 7pm, this is perfect place to art-lovers.
The location of apartment is very close to the train station.
The room is very small and it was very cold. The worst thing was the receptionist. He did not even talk english, I was lucky that I know spanish. And what happened... We paid for a room when we arrived. And when we were leaving in the morning, he required that we paid again! He acted like he did not remember anything! He was telling us that we did not paid and we were argueing with him but it did not help at all....we had to pay again... so I do not recommend this hotel unless you want lose your money.......!
It's at walking distance from any major sites and in a very nice area. We had a room with balcony and a wonderful view onto the Reina Sofia Museum (n.b. not all rooms come with a view, but we requested one upon booking). The room was silent and the mattress of excellent quality. The staff was very helpful and kind. For breakfast we got handed over vouchers to eat at a nearby cafe' which serves typical Spanish breakfast and with the voucher we paid only 2 Euros for coffee, orange juice and a croissant or churros! It was a very authentic experience. I would definitely stay here again in the future.
We travelled in January and the radiator in the room could have been slightly warmer
Staff, room, location, toilet, hot water, cozy bed
Location is good, Wifi good and price is good
The sound from neighbors can be heard
We booked this hotel because we had to travel by train early in the morning. The people in hotel dont speak or understand English. Was difficult to communicate. I paid the hotel and in the early morning there was an old guy who refused that we have paid. I had to really tell him we are going because we will miss our train. too noisy.
Across the street from Atocha train station and surrounded by food places.
The toilet in our room made very loud grumbling noises every time we flushed and we could hear the other toilets flushing during the night. We could also hear other people snoring during the night through the walls.
Affordable. Friendly staff. Feels safe as it's on the second floor behind some locked doors.
Walls are paper-thin. The young couple in the room next to ours made our stay very unpleasant by coming home late and... being a young couple. It's also a shared bathroom (which they do keep quite clean!) but bring your shower shoes.
Close to the train station and restaurants.
Difficult to find.
Staff is nice, though some of them don't speak English, but with minimum Spanish I learnt, everything works out. They didn't give you the key to the Gate downstairs, so you have to ring the bell everytime when you come back, but's it's fine for me. The location is very convenient, just opposite Reina Sofia, and very near the subway Atocha and the Atocha Train Station. Museum of Prado, Forum Caixa, and Park Reino is within walking distance, not to mention Reina Sofia just opposite. Staff will come in to clean up your bed and throw out gabarge the next morning, giving you a nice and comfortable room when you come back.
The room is a bit small, especially the personal washroom. But the public washrooms outside are pretty great, big, bright, and clean.
Central city location Short walking distance to major museums and parks. Small Hostal within vehicle free attractive plaza with abundance of eating places. Very very clean and quiet. Excellent security. Atocha railway station just opposite plaza is convenient for travelling direct to/from airport. Have returned to this hostal many times and am never disappointed
clean rooms everyday. good location.
staffs don't speak english
- close to Atocha railway station - good wifi
- difficult to find at night as it is on the pedestrian street and there is only small sign near the door that there is a hostel here. But people that were walking at the street helped to find the address. - personnel doesn't speak English though very friendly - as it is small hostel than you can here noises once people pass in the corridor.
1. Once booking confirmed, I received a n email, describing way to the hostal in details starting my entrance point to Barcelona (my case was train) 2. Location is perfect, in Rambla street, which is the most touristic area in Barcelona 3. I was staying in individual room in one apartment, was clean enough and comfortable
1. I received promises from the stuff to keep my luggage in the hostal till I go Paris and come back, and in the evening before my flight which was in very early in the morning, they told me they are not able to keep my luggage, and didn’t advise any other alternative, which costed me 50 Euro to take them with me to Paris 2. Lady in the apartment, doesn’t speak english
Wifi worked perfectly the night that i stayed there. Perfect room rest room very clean
Central location. Just 1 minute from the central train station.
There was TV in the room but no English channel. But it's not a big problem.
Location and value for money.
Comfort of the bed and the location of my room which was next to the owners sorting room.
Great location Decent price Friendly staff
You can hear every noise in the halls and every time someone flushes the toilet. I was woken up probably a dozen times.
Great location that near Atocha main station. The room is clean, staffs are nice, the wifi is stable.
The staffs do not practice English.
Friendly personal, clean, not far from the city centre, 5 min to Atocha railway station
it was difficult to sleep in the night between Saturday anf Sunday: till 4-5 o'clock a.m. too much noises from the street like music, laud singing. Other nights it was ok. Sometimes one can listen to laud talking on the flour early in the morning.
Fantastic location, right in the courtyard of Reina Sofia museum!
the location is the best part of the hostal. The tv in the roo was not working, but is a nice place to spend a couple days if you want to pay less then most of the hostals
Tv not working in the room
Close to Atocha station, clean, staff nice.
