Staff were generally speaking obliging. .
I had booked about 6 weeks in advance of my arrival. The room I spent the first 3 nights in was not fit for anyone. There were no windows, it measured 8feet by 9 feet, it was stiflingly warm, and I could hear quite a bit of noise. I was quite literally exhausted through lack of sleep. During the 3rd night, a light came on quite frequently from some where outside and shone throught opaque glass onto my pillow. I sought out the supervisor at that point (2am) and he promised me another room in the morning. Given that I had booked well in advance, I most certainly should not have been given that room!
The location of the hostal was very good, right between La Rambla and The Old Town. The staff were very friendly and ready to help. It's possible to come and go as you wish since you get a key for the frontdoor.
There was a lot of noise from the street during the night because the window in the room didn't close all the way. The bed was old and quite uncomfortable.
location and balcony
Place is excellent, 2 min from La Rambla.
Breakfest starts only at 9 a.m. No internet available. No soaps or shampoo.
If you want luxury go and pay the Barcelona prices. If you want cheap and cheerful book the Rembrandt. Staff are very helpful and friendly and my second time staying.
If it has a day of rain the rooms can be a bit depressing but hey you get what you pay for.
staff was helpful.
toilet and bathroom are so small. also hard to sleep at room because it was too noisy.
Simple words- do not stay here. It is not worth the money you pay for it.
Great Location , staffs are ok
The buildings are really old and not very comfortable
Very central. later rooms we had - good outlook on to Via Portaferissa, friendly staff, full of old city atmosphere- hear the cathedral bells, but also late night revellers, early morning deliveries, bin lorries, neighbours ! Plumbing good -plenty of hot water ...
First rooms we had at back of hotel were really bad -dingy stuffy ,small ,airless, scruffy ,and noise from all night toilet use.
according to the booking rules, they should charge fee for the first day only if client doesn't appear for the booked room. However when i can't be there by accident, they charged me fee for all 3 days! totally compulsive and unreasonable!!!
In the center of Barcelona, close to the Ramblas
Location is good, inside the Gothic district. You can go in and out any time you want. The balcony is a very Barcelonean experience.
No air-conditioning, just an old fan. Lots of mosquitos, we had to go out and buy defense sprays ourselves. Wifi is bad. The staff answers our questions but is not pro-active for solving problems.
1.Super nice location and easy access to get to the airport. 2.Great deal.
1. No air conditioning. stay in the 38℃ room was really uncomfortable. 2. Not so clean. Bathroom was full of fallen hairs and was really nasty.
Very nice and kind personal. Clean and always free shared bathroom. Possibility to leave your luggage. Centric location. Free maps of the city.
No windows and a bit noisy - you can hear your neighbors all they do.
It had a nice balcony. It is in a quieter alley of central Barcelona.we slept okay.
The WiFi was very bad. They might as well have not had any. The beds were so uncomfortable and hard on your back. There were so many extra fees. Luggage storage and using the computer cost money. They also, expected you to pay 5 euros a day for breakfast.
Very central position in Barcelona. Despite of the location no noise comes from the street during the night.
Bad WiFi signal. The wireless router is a domestic one so, at peak hours, when many devices are connected to the network, you might experience connection issues.
Excellent location, close to La Rambla. Quite street so no traffic sounds. No fuss and no problems and... very reasonable price!
Just one key per room and no possibility to get into the hostel at night without the key requires some coordination when not the roommates are not going out as a group. WiFi worked some of the time.
Just off La Rambla but not noisy at all. Staff very friendly. Perfect base for anyone who wants to see Barcelona rather than spend their time in their hotel room
Website said there's a safety deposit box in each room (there isn't) and reception is 24 hours (no one manning it after 10pm). Not really a problem, just be aware
The location was fantastic and the staff was great - they were always friendly and polite and happy to give recommendations.
The hotel requires stairs and my room was small and basic. This was what I expected (and paid for) going in, and wasn't a big deal, but good to know in advance
Location is super, clean bathroom & helpful staff
Friendliness and helpfulness of the young Man receptionist.
Everything is okay.
Kamel was very helpful in showing me on map how to get places. He answered requests promptly.
The stairs were tough when I had to carry suitcase & back pack up. Street noise. Trucks unloading till 4:30 am on 1 night. Would have liked my own bath mat to use. Didn't seem sanitary when others left it all wet.
Location was great, a quick walk to La Rambla where there was a variety of shops and places to eat. The staff was friendly, willing to give suggestions for local restaurants. They also kept the place very clean as there were shared bathrooms.
The place was loud due to the shared bathrooms being next to our room. Air conditioning or some sort of air flow would have been desirable.
well cited in the old city.
being asked to pay €20 to shove our 2 bikes in an empty storeroom
The manager was a lovely man trying to make everyone feel at home and helping out whenever possible. The balcony had room for a chair, albeit sideways. Very close to everything in the rumbler area.
The price. For a little less the hotel Atiram has ensuits plus a restaurant. The price here is far too high. The bathroom is shared by too many, and the bath measures just over a metre. The bed was more spring than padding.
