Location is good, inside the Gothic district. You can go in and out any time you want. The balcony is a very Barcelonean experience.
No air-conditioning, just an old fan. Lots of mosquitos, we had to go out and buy defense sprays ourselves. Wifi is bad. The staff answers our questions but is not pro-active for solving problems.
It had a nice balcony. It is in a quieter alley of central Barcelona.we slept okay.
The WiFi was very bad. They might as well have not had any. The beds were so uncomfortable and hard on your back. There were so many extra fees. Luggage storage and using the computer cost money. They also, expected you to pay 5 euros a day for breakfast.
Very central position in Barcelona. Despite of the location no noise comes from the street during the night.
Bad WiFi signal. The wireless router is a domestic one so, at peak hours, when many devices are connected to the network, you might experience connection issues.
Excellent location, close to La Rambla. Quite street so no traffic sounds. No fuss and no problems and... very reasonable price!
Just one key per room and no possibility to get into the hostel at night without the key requires some coordination when not the roommates are not going out as a group. WiFi worked some of the time.
Just off La Rambla but not noisy at all. Staff very friendly. Perfect base for anyone who wants to see Barcelona rather than spend their time in their hotel room
Website said there's a safety deposit box in each room (there isn't) and reception is 24 hours (no one manning it after 10pm). Not really a problem, just be aware
The location was fantastic and the staff was great - they were always friendly and polite and happy to give recommendations.
The hotel requires stairs and my room was small and basic. This was what I expected (and paid for) going in, and wasn't a big deal, but good to know in advance
Location is super, clean bathroom & helpful staff
Friendliness and helpfulness of the young Man receptionist.
Everything is okay.
Kamel was very helpful in showing me on map how to get places. He answered requests promptly.
The stairs were tough when I had to carry suitcase & back pack up. Street noise. Trucks unloading till 4:30 am on 1 night. Would have liked my own bath mat to use. Didn't seem sanitary when others left it all wet.
Location was great, a quick walk to La Rambla where there was a variety of shops and places to eat. The staff was friendly, willing to give suggestions for local restaurants. They also kept the place very clean as there were shared bathrooms.
The place was loud due to the shared bathrooms being next to our room. Air conditioning or some sort of air flow would have been desirable.
well cited in the old city.
being asked to pay €20 to shove our 2 bikes in an empty storeroom
The manager was a lovely man trying to make everyone feel at home and helping out whenever possible. The balcony had room for a chair, albeit sideways. Very close to everything in the rumbler area.
The price. For a little less the hotel Atiram has ensuits plus a restaurant. The price here is far too high. The bathroom is shared by too many, and the bath measures just over a metre. The bed was more spring than padding.
Superb location and friendly, helpful staff.
Shared bathrooms not especially nice. Rooms small. Bloke smoking pot on balcony below almost constantly wasn't pleasant.
It is a very nice hostel.I Am sure that I will choose it again if I visit Barcelona again. It is 5 mins to Rambla.Everything was perfect.
Only one thing there was dust at same spots but that was non a really problem. You will have a pleasant stay at Rembrandt Hostal.
Very friendly. Close to the Rambla. And very clean.
The bathroom was a bit basic....
Staff asked for €40 per night just to leave 2 bikes in the courtyard, where they were not obstructing anything or causing any inconvenience. When I managed to negotiate this down to €30 they asked what time I was leaving the next day as they wanted me to remove the bikes early, even after paying extra. The walls were so thin that I was kept up by someone snoring next door. The street was very loud and the balcony doors did not close as they were broken, meaning the noise made it impossible to sleep. I would certainly not recommend Hostal Rembrandt.
Do not recommend if you want to stay for more than one night. Don't take your girlfriend to that hostel :) Hostel was chosen for location, price and 24h reception, but there is no 24h reception!!! We were lucky to catch person leaving reception at 00:30 till morning. I've booked twin room, and specified that i'll need separate beds, what we've got is double room with single bed. Walls are thin and you can hear whats going on in other rooms, too much noise to get good sleep.
The location and friendly staff.
Nothing worth mentioning
Very friendly and accommodating staff which definitely makes a difference! Beds were comfortable and the hostel was quiet.
There were only two bathrooms so if you are sharing a bathroom, there is always the waiting around although this wasn't too intense. The pictures are a bit deceiving... Definitely needs to provide more realistic pictures so disappointment is avoided upon arrival.
Great location! The double room with bathroom was very small, but not a real problem and the room was very good with noise cancellation. Hardly any noise from the street when inside the room! Fantastic for a few nights with Las Ramblas so close.
Worst place I've ever stayed in.
First of all, please note that the place looks nothing like what you see in these images so you can pretty much ignore them. There is so much noise there you are almost guaranteed a horrible sleep. The windows don't close properly so you hear absolutely every movement from outside and it gets really noisy at night. The best way to describe it is as sleeping on the street. You think I'm exaggerating? Check out the other reviews. I had the "honor" of staying in a room next to the shower. When people took showers, it sounded as if I were in the bathroom with them. Also, water from showers would somehow get into my room. Some sockets were not working. Two people could not stand in the balcony at the same time, unlike what it seems in the pictures. Wi-Fi only worked sometimes. If you pay by card, you pay 4 euros extra. Your only heating is a horribly noisy electric heater.
Nothing, worst hotel I have ever been in
Everything, location, room , all were a bad joke. Large drain in the middle of the room, taped up to reduce the incredible stink! Place should be closed down.
No wifi un thé room
