Great location. Clean and comfortable rooms.
Good location, nice staff, good value for money considering its location in Madrid
1/ location is very good: close to metro station and to the nice cafe for a morning breakfast 2/ the bed - with the ortopedic matrass it was a great thing for my sick back.
1/ the room is not very comfortable: there are no table, no tea kettle, no cups, only one chair in the room for two people. When you come back to the hotel you want to drink a hot tea, or maybe to have a small snack. If i were a hotel owner, i would provide the simple tea kettle and a pair of cups to provide the comfort for the people staying in the room. When we come back to the hotel after a day in the city we want to feel very comfortable. 2/ bathroom is very very small: if you are not slender, you will have problems moving around 3/ walls: you can hear everything that is going on in other rooms, everything: talking on the phone, conversations. Often we were awake because of the telephone calls of our neighbours.
Location: walking distance to almost all attractions and metro; vibrant neighborhood with shops and restaurants. Very clean rooms with private bathrooms, friendly staff, full cleaning service, comfortable beds. Nice balconies. Good WiFi. Recommended for single or couples without small children on leisure vacation. I will go back!
Lack of elevator - climbing 3 floors with heavy suitcase. Rooms not very well insulated for indoor/outdoor noise - alarm clock next door woke me up (I am a light sleeper).
in the center, clean rooms
very-very small rooms, windows to a very noisy street. It is basically just rooms, not a hostel. No common area.. Not worth the 8,6 rating ! !
The place is very close to the subway and it's located very central which is a great perk! The room was very clean as well as the bathroom. Bed was very comfortable, TV available. Recommended for a short period anyway.
You can hear people speaking while you are in the room, despite the closed door. However, the place was very quite and I had a very good sleep, considering the fact that I need enough silence to get some sleep.
The staff were extremely friendly, the bedroom was spotless and so was the bathroom! The size of the bedroom was just about right and it had everything necessary for a pleasant stay! I would highly recommend staying here! Also the closest metro was Anton Martín as it was a straight road all the way up to the B&B!
There was nothing that I didn't like!
Nice and clean room full of light, clean bathroom, nothing was missing. Friendly and helpful personal. Located in a street with many pubs, it wasn't too noisy however.
Bathroom has no window or airing
Pretty good location.
Very small (claustofhobic) double room with even smaller bathroom. Although we have asked for another room, they kindly answered that it was not possible. The building is very old with the specific odour. The balcony was so small, not even for the chair. Although we have read that the neighbourhood pretty quiet, it was noisy most of the nights and especially early in the morning. I suggest that you ask for larger double room when booking.
Family operated, very friendly and helpful. Close to groceries, cafés and sights/museums. Very clean.
Cleanliness! Nice people!
Great location, really good value for money, very helpful staff. Compared to other places nearby (in calle Atocha) this is far better because you get the best of the location without the noise. Even though I went for work, the atmosphere in calle Huertas and around is so fun it was difficult to stay 100% in work mode.
very good location, very clean and nice hotel, good overall wifi signal, good price/quality correlation
I was not allowed to leave my luggage until the time needed. Had to return for it in some hours (3h earlier than I needed), no elevator. The hotel is held by a couple: the woman is neither nice nor welcoming, although the man is ready to help.
I was pleasantly surprised by the size of my single private room, which was fairly big for the amount I paid. The staff was very helpful from the moment I checked in, from providing me with an international adapter when I couldn't find my own to helping me find my way around the city. The building, despite being old, was very clean and well- maintained, and it was perfectly located- located within walking distance from el Parque de Retiro, el Palacio Real, and el Museo del Prado. Highly highly recommended, especially for its price.
The only downside at Hostal San Antonio was the unreliability of the wi- fi. When it worked, it was very fast, but other times it would unexpectedly disconnect. It worked often enough though that I was able to accomplish whatever I needed online.
Its location was great for our city travels. We even had a small balcony to watch people up and down the street. The staff answered any of our questions happily
Spotless rooms Friendly staff Homely feel Great location with several breakfast options in close proximity (including a bakery opposite the hotel)
Wifi did not work in room
Small room but good value. Fairly quiet street.
Theres no lift in the building so can be hard work getting up to the 2nd floor with heavy luggage.
Very clean, good location and helpful staff.
Bath too small
The staff were very friendly and helpful and the location was excellent. The room albeit small was just right for me and was very clean.
I did struggle up the stairs with a very heavy suitcase and no lift available!
Quiet and clean! Wifi worked well and the location is excellent.
Small and short double bed.
Very welcoming staff with plenty of good advice on places to eat and see. We had a small inside room without a balcony as this was a quiet room. The balcony rooms are on the street which can be noisy at night. Our room was small but had a cupboard and desk. Air con was good but the temperature could not be controlled unless it was set by the owner. The location is superb for the main museums/galleries, shopping, eating and some entertainment. A laundry and a supermarket is in the street. The double bed was firm but comfortable but be sure to ask for two pillows as ours came with one long single pillow at first. Great little wine/food place across the street (Gonzales); very nice Greek restaurant in the street (Dionisis); a good value general restaurant (Ginger) in Plaza Angel just up Calle de Las Huertas; nice watering hole in Plaza Matute in C. Huertas. Overall expect a small well maintained room where you will only spend time for sleeping and washing.
Stairs - no lift. Walls are a bit thin for those lighter sleepers.
Location is great and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
Very nice small hostal in the heart of Madrid. Staff was extremely friendly.
Very good location. Clean. Friendly staff.
