Really helpful staff and nice warm room to fight the outdoor cold.
The kitchen was immaculate, the gentleman at reception very friendly, breakfast ok. Lacked some charm but ok if you just need somewhere to sleep over while you spend the day out. Very clean and tidy.
We had an internal room with no windows to the outside world so felt claustrophobic. Not enough dishes in the kitchen.
The location of Toril is superb. Easy walking to everything worth seeing in Antequera. The only drawback (and a minor one) was the noise late at night from the bar underneath the street front rooms. Other than that, a great place to stay
The price was pretty much the best thing about the place - 60 euros for four of us. It was cold (we went in November and there was no heat), the room had one window that went on to a dark corner of an interior courtyard and they apparently forgot to turn on the hot water. It was very basic, but clean and the room was large. We came late and left early, as it was a stopover on the way to the airport, but I wouldn't want to hang about in it.
Forgetting to turn on hot water is pretty unforgivable, especially in the winter when a cold shower is not refreshing. When we suggested that perhaps they should take the price down they shrugged their shoulders.
The staff were very friendly and directed us to somewhere nearby to park for free. The hotel was in a quiet area but with plenty of places to eat locally. Easy walk into the town centre. Very good value.
Lovely traditional Spanish house. Staff were lovely and welcoming. Rooms were basic but very clean and large and comfortable. Location was hard to find initially, but very central to the town and surrounding areas. Great for our stay as just passing through antequera .
No English TV channels. Would have been nice if we had states no longer but no probs otherwise
Location to town centre. Quiet side road. Clean.
We had trouble finding the hotel and ended up parking about 10 minutes walk away and asking locals for directions. However with sat nav you might not have any problems.
Very well located. Room was quite big and very well equipped, aircon+tv+ free Wi-fi. Massive bathroom
We booked a double bed and we found 2 singles. Receptionist said first to arrive are first to grab the double bed rooms.. a bit disappointed as that wasn't explained at the time of booking.
Extremely helpful and friendly staff.Perfect location in town.Superior room lovely decor.
We paid extra for a superior room with balcony overlooking the city. It was just a window with a railing and no view unless you craned your neck. Don't bother with the upgrade. Breakfast was poor although cheap.
didn't expect much as it is only 1 star ,but was pleasently suprised and would have not been dissapointed had it been a 2 or 3 star. very clean and quaint.
the off road car park was tiny and it was a good job we only have a small car,but it was available and it did the job so can't realy complain.
Clean comfortable room Value for money brilliant
Breakfast was basic Shower was tiny
Central location, underground parking possiblity makes things easier. Nicely renovated place.
Hotel Toril is in the centre of Antequerra, which is a very beautiful city. The owner was most helpful and friendly. The rooms and furniture is maybe a bit outdated but is was clean and that's what counts. Breakfast was, considering its price, ok.
Hostal is well located in the city center, staff helpful, rooms clean, but refreshing would help.
Breakfast was much below expectations. Wi-Fi - not working or working from time to time. In Spain it was the only place where I was not happy with the food, and I slept in several hostels. Even if there was not big choice, everything was fresh and of good quality - not in this place. In some other countries I would say it was acceptable, at most. One of reasons to choose this place was that breakfast was included, so my disappointment was even bigger.
Almost impossible to find amongst narrow one way streets. No place to park and street too narrow to stop and drop bags. Damp smelling. Lamp fell from wal during night due to decay of old concrete wall. No staff...checked selves in. Tiny room.
Staff offered space on the patio for my bicycle
WiFi reception in my room was unusable
Chatting with the friendly and helpful hotel staff who spoke good English. The WiFi was fast and reliable in my room which was clean and comfortable. The breakfast which was perfect for me - simple and relaxed. Great value.
The noisy guest in the room next door! But that was hardly the hotel's fault, so... Nada :)
Total surprise at how good this turned out to be. Friendly owner who spoke some English, very well located, welcoming interior. Parking was on site, with simple access through the kitchen. Truly excellent value for money.
It's a small family run hostal and very quaint. The check in was easy. The car parking is a short distance away and is subsidised by the hostal, leaving a minimal amount to pay. It was very quiet. The room is clean and comfortable with its own ensuite bathroom. The bed was very comfortable too. The view out of the shuttered window was like a postcard of narrow street and the alcazabar on the hill in the distance surrounded by the typical white houses of the hill towns.
We were perfectly happy with this hostal. It is not pretentious and suited our budget
The gentleman behind the reception was very helpful and spoke good english. He told us about a free carpark close to the Toril. The bedroom was very comfortable, bathroom very good. The hostil was very clean. The breakfast was continental and you could help yourself to what you wanted. Would stay here again. A very cenral location
Nothing to dislike
The hostal was ideally situated in the town centre. The staff were exceedingly helpful in all matters, and the breakfast provided was a good start to the day. There is a very good selection of fairly-priced restaurants in many of the nearby streets.
The car parking facility in the nearby town centre car park entails a circuitous driving route back to the hotel if clients wish to avoid having to transport heavy luggage from the hostal to their vehicle on leaving. Whilst this didn't affect us unduly, it could be difficult at certain times of the day when the town streets are busy.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Good, cheap breakfast. Very clean, modern, comfortable rooms with great air conditioning! We really enjoyed staying here.
We can't really complain about the wifi because the ad says it is available in public areas- which it is! We unfortunately couldn't access wifi in our room so this would be our only suggestion for improvement to make it perfect! (But there is a public computer you can use for free).
Nice friendly staff, good location.
The water was cold to start with but the staff did sort it out, however the shower was awful with hardly any water coming out. The other problem we had was the other guests who woke us up at 3 in the morning, there was no way of blocking the noise and there were no staff to sort the noise out, the whole hotel must have been woken up - so this spoilt our stay.
Central location. Friendly and helpful personality.
