Having flown in that morning, by the time we arrived and settled in, we had missed lunch and they don't serve dinner) The manager directed us to a nearby town for that but gave us our beers on the house before setting out. FANTASTIC BREAKFAST
That is was too quiet a place to warrant serving dinner and the town of Colera is very quiet so nothing was open there either
The couple running the hotel are friendly, open, accomodating, helpful. The rooms are comfortable (though some curtains might be good for privacy without darkness, especially for bathroom window). The food in the restaurant is of excellent quality, and copious! We will be returning here!
Very friendly owners. Excellent breakfast with fresh food.
Really friendly owners - nothing is too much trouble. Delicious, enormous breakfasts. Beautiful room. And how can you resist a hotel decorated with pictures of octopuses?
Everything was great.
The host, the food and each day a very clean room!
Hostal Totsompops is a small hotel of only 4 rooms and a decent restaurant. Since we were tripping in the neighbourhood the enthusiast booking-reviews of this place got our attention. We cannot but confirm the good words in these reviews. The owners of the hotel, Joan and Carme, really did everything in their power to give us a good time. Our room was modern and spacious, not posh, with a wonderful bathroom and a perfect airco. Wifi works perfect. Breakfast was super, we even got Pata Negra in the morning. For diner we ate delicious local Catalonian food cooked by Joan himself. Out of the many hotel experiences on our many European trips so far, the experience at Totsompops is one of the most hearty we have ever experienced. For Dutch or Flemish people I extra note we have discovered a link between the hotel and Toon Hermans. But please, go and find out what that is yourself. Totsompops is set in a sleepy, non-commercial little town on the Mediterranean coast just a couple of kilometres south of the Spain-France border. The town doesn't bring much apart from a small beach. But the location is perfect for to explore the region of artist Salvator Dali, meaning picture postcard village Cadaqués, his house (now museum) in Port Lligat, the amazing natural park Cap de Creus both are set in and some other nice things like the Monestir de St Pere de Roses and the outskirts of the Pyrenees. But, did I mention the hearty B&B-plus mentality of Joan and Carme?
The food was excellent. Although eating hours in Spain are late. Breakfast was very good. Staff accommodated our special, dietary requirements.
Staff friendliness. Outstanding breakfast and interesting dinner cooked with care and attention. Nicely uncluttered and stylish room. Will stay there again next time we're on the Costa Brava, with delight
Everything! The hotel owner went out her way to help and make our stay amazing. When we got there she booked us in no problem (she struggled abit with English, but she did an excellent job with translating stuff for us). There was no lift, so she got her husband to help us with our luggage up the one flight of stairs. Dinner in the hotel restaurant was amazing - huge with plenty of complimentary nibblies and reasonably priced. The complimentary breakfast was huge! There was a selection of different items, and many of each, we took our time finishing it and even then were struggling to get to the end. And, everything tasted and looked amazing. The service was amazing, and we would reccomend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Costa Brava.
Took us a little while to find it, but then again we had forgotten to check a map before hand. The ocean is beautiful but in winter there is not much to do in the town :/ I wish there was so we could have a reason to stay longer.
the owners are extremely helpul, kind...the room very modern and clean.comfortable..the breakfast wonderful..dinner and local wine. suburb...only th highest opinion of this warm familiy owned modern little gem in a small fishing village. would return.!
This is a very very quiet town...everything closed up as we went off season..which was nice...quiet...we drove to the next few villages for something to do. Missed hacving a blow drier. Booking.com says 300 meters from the beach >I misinterprete as a beach view property which it is not.. however a short walk only.
The owners were most kind and helpful. Our meal in the restaurant was followed by an evening of Catalan folk songs until 1.30 in the morning. We will definitely go back!
