The hostel was clean and the bed confortable. we had a metro station almost at door and a convenience store very near as well.
The building is old in a historical zone, but we think improvements could be made in order to provide more confort (bathroom needs renovation).
Good localisation close to Gran Via and underground station. Really low price
Most of photos of the room are from the other part of the hostal. Host doesn't speak a word in english. Heating in room wasn't working. It was January and it was freezing cold inside that made us sick after first night. Shower inside the room was riddiculus.
the location is near the city centre and metro station. The building have an elevator. The toilet is clean and warm water for bath available 24 hours.
the staff is unable to speak english, we cant communicate, they always say 'no' for every question, i bet this is because they dont understand the question. the room is very small, the room heater is very limited (only on at 21-24 pm with its lowest level of warm). there's no tv remote control. the commercial says that they have 24 hours staff who can speak english...you will never find this.
Good location near the center
Heating was switched on just on evening for one hour, it was cool in the room
TV in the room, wi fi, location.
the owner fought with a guest, bad acoustic isolation, no kitchen and no breakfast.
The old lady is really nice, though she cannot speak English at all. We got a room with super large bed which makes it really comfortable for us to sleep. The location is just perfect, right next to the noviciado metro station, and it got lift( which is not available in many other hostels we lived). Oh, and you get a individual shower area in your room, making it easier to take shower whenever you want.
The street is really noisy, earplug is needed. The heater seems only work two hours at night, so, you have to expect freezing night to suffer if you are out of your bed
there is nothing common with the pictures of hostel and the reality. the room was old, stuff also - is't not a problem but the bed lingerie was so dirty as we use our clothes just to not touch it. one night was also there a drunk guest of noviciado who was shouting and behave like on the movie and nobody react.
Location was excellent, easy access to everything. Wifi was good, free and easy to connect. Staff were reasonably helpful when asked.
Rather dirty, showers in rooms were black and the drains stank of urine. Bed sheets had some....dodgy stains....(slept fully clothed) Staff didn't know any English, reception stayed up late shouting at TV every night. The rooms look nothing like the pictures provided. You get tilled floor, dirty bed and cupboard/shower thing...
Good location, nice staff
The staff was nice and the internet was working. Also, good location.
Everything else was terrible. The place doesn't look like the pictures and it's dirty and noisy. Don't recommend.
Clean, perfect location, staff were friendly near all main attractions, right by the metro
Blinds/curtains didnt shut in bedroom so another room could see in. The drainage in bathroom smelt at all times unless you had the bathroom door shut at all times.
wi-fi connection was very unstable, staff doesn't speak English
excellent location, cleanliness and design of room, late check-in permitted. Generally, good value for money.
I was in a single room next to Calle Bernardo (the main street). It was extremely noisy, even with the windows closed. I would not want to be in this room again. Also, there was lsnguage confusion. My Spanish is not that great and I didn´t understand some things that the woman said (they don´t speak English). Some consideration of how difficult it is for a foreigner to understand Spanish would have been appreciated.
Location, just 200m from the metro station
The old lady can not speak English even one word. We find out there's no remote of the air conditioner so we ask her and another room's guest help us to translate, she said the the A/C is broken and we ask to change to another room, but the answer is all the rooms A/C are broken, that's absolutely excuse!!! We chose this when we were comparing the hostels, one of the must is the A/C! The weather was not that cool and it's fearful to open the window because it's facing some clothes dryer line which is connected to the other buiding and it's 2nd floor!!! If you don't want to provide the A/c you should not say the room has it, or you can just ask for a higher price in booking, but now it's totally cheating!!!!!!
Location, the subway is very close
Windows on a main street - it was very noisy
Ordinary small hostel.
Stuff can not speak or understand English at all so be prepared for body language communication.
location room decor hospitality
wifi - conection only available at aisle
Everything. Big room. Clean. Nice decor. Great bathroom. Walking distance to all bars/clubs/restaurants/shops. Fast Wifi. Privacy. awesome aircon and lovely little balcony balcony.
There was a little noise from a party below until 1am, however it must have been really loud as once that stopped I couldn't hear any other guests or noise and I slept perfectly.
As we were in Madrid for 5 nights mainly to see Real Madrid vs Atletico, we were extremely happy with the location as it is close to ewerywhere. Tram station just near by and even by walk it was not so far anywhere. We have seen all famous places, had where to go for breakfast and beer, all just behind the corner. Staff really friendly, nice lady all the time there to help you or just say hello but unfortunately for us, only in Spanish :) Room was nothing like on pictures, only corridor and first room are for marketing purposes but anyway was nice and clean even with shower and balcony.
Noise from the street was really terrible. You can't close the balcony because you have no air but there are so many cars all night long that we couldn't sleep. We had just fan in a room and at night is too warm without it and too noisy and bit cold with it so overall we came home exhausted as we did not sleep properly so I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay.
Size and cleanliness
None of staff spoke any English
nothing in particular
Don't be fooled by those nice photos of the hostel, the reality is quite different
The location was perfect, near the metro and close by to are Uni which is Pontificia Comillas. Facilities were good and the Land Lady was amazing and madr us feel right at home, evrn taught us some spanish.
Good value for Money, Close to gran via and lots of cafeys around. Close to metro aswell.
Some problems with the air conditioning.
