Location. Room very clean.
Very noisy street below. Had to ask for aircon so could close windows & sleep at night.
I booked a room at the Victoria II,but I think I was put in the brand new annex next door. Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. Location was excellent.
This was the smallest room I have ever seen. It was listed as a double, and the only one available for my solo stay, so I booked it. There was no room for anything, even your suitcase. I cannot imagine two people staying in this room without getting on each others nerves. There was no elevator so I had to walk up to the second (third) floor, carrying my heavy suitcase. No offer of help was given. You also had to ring in at two separate doors every time you wanted to come in. That was a bit annoying.
Tv, fridge, safe deposit, hair dryer
Small and can hear the neighbor walk
The position was fantastic. It overlooked the Puerto do Sol, which is in the heart of the tourist highlights. Most sights are within walking distance. If a Metro is needed the entrance is 100 metres from the hotel. There are dozens of restaurants and Tapas bars within a 10 minute walk.
Because of the closeness of Puerto do Sol, it can be a bit noisy at night, as people were in the square until 4am on the 2 nights we were there, so it is essential to keep the windows closed. It is a bit of a nuisance having to check into Victoria 1 and the go to Victoria 2 for the room, but once in, this did not matter. We were offered car parking at 14 Euros per night, but when we discovered that this was quite a long walk away, we decided to park in a free park and ride and come into the city by Metro. From the Metro, it is just a few metres to the hotel.
The location is great - the metro is on your doorstep.
It's too close to the Sol Plaza. Two 24-hour eateries downstairs and young people carry on right through the night! Earplugs won't help. Join them of your are young. Look from something else if you are older or need to sleep.
The location is great, the room was clean and the air conditioner works very good.
The room was a bit small but bearable, the stuff knows only spanish, bring your own shampoo.
Amazing location, directly in the heart of the city. The facilities itself are very good value for money.
didn't find anything I didn't like to be honest
Location very near to Metro Sol , shopping area and attraction sites Our room was facing the Plaza del Sol so we could see what was going on / street performers performing
Intermittent wifi signal
location and cleaness
- Right in the heart of Madrid, you'd need to pitch a tent in Plaza del Sol to be closer - Sound isolation is good
- I had asked for parking for my car (which needs previous reservation) and they "forgot" it, so I was left to find my own parking in busy Madrid - No notice is given in the hotel listing, but Madrid's city center is off-limits to cars, so we had to walk quite a bit with our bags in hand - Wifi signal was unusable, even on a high-end laptop
The room was nice and clean.
When we arrived we were basically given a key and shown our room. Other hostels we stayed in on our trip gave us info on the area, free guided tours and had a shared area for meeting fellow travelers. This was more like a hotel than a hostel and we felt quite isolated.
The location is very good. It’s near sol station. There are lots of shops near the hotel.
I took the shower in the morning and it was hard to adjust the temperature. You have to buzz each time before entering the front door.
Wifi not great, stain on sheets
Great location, helpful workers and receptionists, clean rooms.
A bigger fridge would be better..
Location. price, silence, air-co, new furniture, complete bathroom inside of the room.
The location and proximity was good.
The "hotel" is a floor in a building with other businesses and tenants. The actual lobby is down the street in another building. We didn't get any sleep, the walls were paper thin, we could hear people speaking, watching tv, coming and going all night. There were 24hr renos happening on the floor above - constant banging, drilling, hammering. Lastly, the toilet was flush with the wall so we had to sit on it sideways. Definitely not an 8/10 in our books.
The location is perfect. Central close to the Metro
The reception (and the staff) is shared withe the Hostal Victoria I. so you need to go there to get the key. (To be honest It was stated in the booking but I did not see)
The central location yet still quiet. All three buildings I, II & ? were only on the second floor (floor 3 in American useage). Victoria I & ? had AC for July that was a life saver!
I do not use lifts but the Victoria ?? building 5 did not have one but both Victoria II and I did.
Price Quality ratio...
Good location, strong wifi, friendly staff
Noise all night long from others staying there; cigarette smoke in the room all day every day even though was non-smoking
Location was excellent, and the room was quiet
The room was old and not very clean
The location was excellent, right in the middle of everything with good food within walking distance. Staff was helpful.
We booked two rooms and while one of them was excellent, the other was poorly lit, smelled of cigarette and opened out into a rubbish dump.
The location is incredible. If you enjoy walking you can go almost every single major Madrid's attraction. If you don't Metro is literally downstairs. Clean, with washroom inside is a luxury in that price range.
Staff was not really unfriendly but not very helpful or cheerful either. Well, that could actually be a Madrid thing. I felt that almost everywhere. The air conditioner could not stand to the heat of Madrid in the summer. It made it tolerable but still quite warm in the room.
All new and clean in an excellent location!
Excellent location right in the center of the city.
I booked two rooms, one of them was ok (with balcony) the other - a dark and stuffy interior courtyard room, really awful.
