perfect location in the middle of Chueca, Huertas and Old Town; great value for money
1.The promotion price. You can get 20 or 25 euros sometimes for JUST ONE night. 2.The location.Very close to the plaza del sol.
1.There are bugs on the bed, so the cleanliness... 2.The wall is thin, not very sound-proof.
The wi-fi signal was poor and unstable, everything else very good
nothing. except for the location.
The worst hotel/hostel that i've ever stayed at. very badly run in terms of operations - other guests and i waited for ages just to check in - they were just very inefficient in dealing with customers and just two ladies manning reception, phonecalls, and a buzzer to let people in. and THEN i was told that i could have one room for one night, and then i had to transfer room for the other two nights. I asked why can't i have the same room for three nights, the person just said 'because its not possible'. i only stayed with the hotel because i didn't want to walk around with my backpack looking for another. on the day of checkout, two other guests waited at least 10 minutes while the receptionist was on the phone, only to be told that there was no room. I have been in backpacker hostels that were much cheaper and run more efficiently. if i were asked, i'd tell people to stay away from this hotel at all costs.
Cleanliness, fridge, safe for keeping valuables, hangers in closet, lighting in hallways ,the street view! With puerta del sol plaza. The sound of music and people on the streets
A bit small ,the room .yet still comfortable.
Everything was good but 1 thing missing was there was no hot water cattle in the room to make tea or coffee
This hotel is in an excellent location and is a great value! It is right in the middle of town and close to so many sights and restaurants. Plus the metro is very close. The room was quite small, but we managed. Very clean and well secured.
This didn't bother us, but it is noisy through the early morning hours. If you're a light sleeper, you might want to bring ear plugs. Called the manager one morning and couldn't communicate because the person didn't speak any English. No on-site manager.
very good location near bus and metro
could hear the neighbours, and room very small
Great location, nice and clean room.
The hostel is very noisy, high level of noise both from outside and inside.
The location and elevator.
Room size was too small.
location is great.
many noises at midnight.
Good central location, minutes away from the metro, restaurants and shopping areas. Value for money, and the room is clean and cosy.
The reception area is not in the same building as our room (2 units down the block), which caused some confusion initially. The guy at the reception, though very friendly, couldn't speak a word of English, so we had trouble checking in initially.
the location The price
beds too hard
Our room was nice, and it had a balcony that overlooked Puerta de Sol, which is the center of Madrid. If you want a great location with a nice room, this is the place for you.
I was charged in dollars (not Euros) without my consent. When I questioned it, the staff person insisted I has been charge in Euros, but the receipt clearly stated that I was charged in dollars. I truly believe that the staff person was honest, but poorly trained. Driving to this place is almost impossible, even with a GPS. I parked and walked to the place, and was charged for my reserved parking even though I did not use it. You have to check in a few doors down, which lead to some confusion by some guests who waited at the desk at the wrong location. I would suggest that they train their staff better on how they charge their guests, and put up a sign telling guests to register at the correct location. Also, being on Puerta de Sol had its drawback -- lots of noise! But then, nothing is perfect!
Convenience of location. Right by the Puerta del Sol.
The maintenance staff was wonderful!
The WIFI was veery weak, sometimes not at all. And after a few days, I finally got good air conditioning.
Great location, clean and tidy rooms, centrally located and humble staff. Would definitely recommend for budget travellers.
Wifi poor, reception at one hostal and stay at another caused a bit of inconvenience.
reasonable and convenient location
Location. Room very clean.
Very noisy street below. Had to ask for aircon so could close windows & sleep at night.
Private balcony with extra large room
No elevator and we had to carry heavy suitcases up to the third floor. Also we had to check in at another location which was 2 to 3 doors away.
I booked a room at the Victoria II,but I think I was put in the brand new annex next door. Bed was very comfortable and room was very clean. Location was excellent.
This was the smallest room I have ever seen. It was listed as a double, and the only one available for my solo stay, so I booked it. There was no room for anything, even your suitcase. I cannot imagine two people staying in this room without getting on each others nerves. There was no elevator so I had to walk up to the second (third) floor, carrying my heavy suitcase. No offer of help was given. You also had to ring in at two separate doors every time you wanted to come in. That was a bit annoying.
Tv, fridge, safe deposit, hair dryer
Small and can hear the neighbor walk
The position was fantastic. It overlooked the Puerto do Sol, which is in the heart of the tourist highlights. Most sights are within walking distance. If a Metro is needed the entrance is 100 metres from the hotel. There are dozens of restaurants and Tapas bars within a 10 minute walk.
Because of the closeness of Puerto do Sol, it can be a bit noisy at night, as people were in the square until 4am on the 2 nights we were there, so it is essential to keep the windows closed. It is a bit of a nuisance having to check into Victoria 1 and the go to Victoria 2 for the room, but once in, this did not matter. We were offered car parking at 14 Euros per night, but when we discovered that this was quite a long walk away, we decided to park in a free park and ride and come into the city by Metro. From the Metro, it is just a few metres to the hotel.
The location is great - the metro is on your doorstep.
It's too close to the Sol Plaza. Two 24-hour eateries downstairs and young people carry on right through the night! Earplugs won't help. Join them of your are young. Look from something else if you are older or need to sleep.
The location is great, the room was clean and the air conditioner works very good.
The room was a bit small but bearable, the stuff knows only spanish, bring your own shampoo.
