The reception was not in the same location as the room - however, there were three locations where it could have been so it was extremely confusing, and very complicated to get to even once you knew the correct building, as it was sort of a block of flats and taking elevators up and down with the luggage was at least uncomfortable. Once I got to the reception, I wasn't properly explained why didn't the money get through directly from my account as in any other booking I made, but I had to pay for tte room 'again' - it turned up that I didn't pay twice, as I was afraid it happened, but the receptionist couldn't explain to me what is actually happening. The way to the room was a lot worse - as I had to take the elevator up to a certain floor, then walk to the end of some confusing corridors and go down by stairs another half a floor - the 30kg luggage I had with me didn't make the experience any better!
The room was clean, comfortable, extremely well-sized for a single traveller, double bed and incredibly good value for money, considering also the central location (few minutes from Puerta del Sol, on a street with cafes and restaurants, very active at night). Very small balcony in the room - but good enough for a smoker.
