The location was good.
The hotel staff were not at all welcoming, and our room was tiny (very poor for what we paid). It faced the back of the building and attracted noise from surrounding apartments, bad cooking smells, and cigarette smells. There were cigarette burns on our bed sheet. No more than functional-- not a nice welcome to a great city.
Nice bed Good shower/toilet Flat screen tv Free wi-fi
Clean bathroom and rooms; friendly staff; free wifi; good location (2 blocks from Puerta del Sol)
Cleanliness, hospitality, breakfast etc.
Basically everything. Excellent location, just a few minutes walk to different tourist spots. Our room was equipped with a private bathroom and shower and air conditioning and was cleaned every day. Staff were friendly and helpful though 1 of them did not speak English but she was still nice and friendly and tried to communicate with us in Spanish and gesture.
Really nothing, except that the lady who works in the day time does not speak English.
Nice for one night. Staff was friendly and helpful.
Bathroom was very small and there was a lot of street noise.
It is located in the heart of city and very close to metro station called SOL.
Good location, clean rooms. A bit difficult to find as there is no sign on the street.
Fantastic location, so central to every site seeing option.
Staff was very helpful, would have been even better if more of them could speak English!
Nothing in particular
Terrible smell of fried food Very noisy you can hear if some one is speaking pr walking in the hallway
Access to the hotel is annoying. You need to keep your room key at the reception. Main Hostal door is closed and you don't have a key. You need to wait for the reception to open the door.
Location, fairly quiet
Not having exterior door key
Ex location - near theatre Very quiet
The nice smell of the room and the clean sheets. Although the room was tight fit there was enough space for everything as the furniture - BTW while quaint, was tasteful - was set up thoughtfully. I especially like the boxed window! There was a piano in the living room which folks could play .. gave it a homey feel. Staff were helpful. Pity English wasn't spoken but we managed to communicate :)
The plumbing had issues - water flowed out of the main man-hole of the bathroom when I had my shower. Hopefully it was a one-off issue. I advised them and they said that a plumber would be coming over the Monday (by then I would have left the city so I can't comment on the outcome).
Good position near the centre.
We could never open the window because of a terrible, unbearable smell of cooking coming from the restaurant below, at any hour of the day and night (the window was overlooking an internal quadrangle). Mediocre cleanliness. Stains on the blanket. Small and old bathroom.
location is good, right near one of the central squares. parking is round the corner.
nobody at the reception desk speaks english, so it`s very difficult to understand where to park a car and how to get to that place (note that the garage is open at some certain hours and beyond these hours you must take a key at the reception to open it - but here we have a problem again - nobody can explain this in english, so you have to gain your own experience which is not always positive). if you don`t speak spanish be ready to use body language. our room was rather shabby and the bathroom was terribly small.
The location was good and we had secure parking for our car. Restaurants close by and most tourist sites within walking distance.
the staff is really helpful and the location is in the city center.I'll come back again.
the manager is not that kind and not flexible！
Very comfortable beds and very good value for money for its central location.
Rooms quite small also small bathroom but everything good quality.
Muy bien situado y personal muy amable Very fine located and friendly staff
No hay cuartos con cama de matrimonio con baño propio (o eso me dijeron) A pesar de que me dijeron que podía pagar al irme, me lo exigieron la noche anterior a nuestra marcha There are not rooms with marriage bed with self bathroom (or this I were told) Despite they told me I could pay when we were leaving, I was demanded to pay the previous night of our departure
clean, all you need for couple of days is in your room. in comparison with other hostals, fair price!
very small room, only for couple of days. hard to find the hotel (no signs on a street). personnel does not speak english at all. no windows to look through.no breakfast.
nice bed, good location
bathroom very small .
The proximity to the heart of Madrid.
Friendly very helpful staff eventhough they did not speak English and I spoke only a little Spanish. Convenient hotel and whilst nothing very special good value for money and would go again.
Hotel/corridor a bit dark.
