Perfect location - 10/10
Towels are not changed, terrible toilet, poor breakfasts (baguette + ham + jam + cupcake, sometimes cheese, nothing more), people in reception who speak english no clearly, loud noises on our 5th, level, loud elevator
Cheap, cheerful, everything we needed, 24 hour reception, not too noisy, free breakfast. Good places to eat all around, in walking distance of a lot of the attractions, and near the port.
The showers could use some serious maintenance to avoid inadvertent hair and clothes washing::::::
in the Gothic quarter and few metres away of the sea, metro is only about 10 minutes away, many nice restaurants and bars around
worse breakfast, but enough for that money
Good location; Good value for money; Helpful staff;
No wi-fi in the room; Do not expect anything but the basic facilities;
The location. For the price, the breakfast is ok. They serve bread, some pastries, ham, butter, juice and coffee.
You can hear pretty much everything that comes from the other room. If you are with a child, it can be a big problem. The shower is irritating. You have to press it every 10 seconds for the water to come out. Some people in the staff were friendly but one of the ladies that served breakfast was in a terrible mood. I have been to many hostels with my child before and I would say it is not very child-friendly.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Clean Full kitchen facilities Free wifi Central location Free room locker
You can't always choose your room mates....
awesome location, breakfast was great, helpful staff
some of the staff was a bit grumpy
I wish they have soap in the bsthroom
- Great location (although a bit noisy, but that's to be expected in this area), - clean, - cheap, - with breakfast included, - nice kitchen (cooking only allowed from 6 to 10 pm) and dining area.
- the beds are really bad - no sheets included so people are sleeping directly under the blankets - no wifi in the rooms but available at the reception. - the shower was splitting water in many direction, and not only on my.
The bed was comfy, the toilets were clean, the staff were helpful
The showers not great for pressure but thats not really a problem
Perfect location, close to all the attractions
Wifi is just available in the lobby
The woman at the hostel was very friendly and helpfull
The man in the hostel, were very arrogant and not helpfull at all. They were very irritated al the time so it was not pleasent to ask them anything.
It's good because you are in the center of BCN. You can find a lot of good bars.
Small rooms. No wifi in the rooms! No soap in the toilets!
Thè breakfast Was not all you need. Not much but nice. the nice girl sitting the other morning at reception Was so nice to us!
When we arrived there Was a big man at the reception. Hè Was not nice at all. There Was no hello or good evening. He was a real ashwole.he did not look at us!
Receptionist advises attached to place to go. Really look after guests.
No view through the windows
Helpful reception staff Avaibility of eaflets
The cleaner (also the serving staff) was not friendly and not happy when we had another bread (which was hard to chew as well). First we book a double-bed room, but then they gave a double-decked bed room. Wifi is not available except the ground floor.
Location in perfect. In the middle of el barri gotic area, also near the beach (about 10min by walk).
Location and breakfast.
Internet service is bad, bed sheets are dirty. Bathrooms are uncomfortable to use.
Friendly helpful staff. Generous breakfast. Hot showers.
Great location, clean, sufficient breakfast.
Can get noisy (thin walls) but ear plugs should help.
Location was great!
Facilities, staff and cleanliness were below par, as far as I'm concerned.
Location. Nothing else.
WHERE DO I START!? The staff were HORRIBLE to say the least, i did not have one pleasant moment interacting with any of the staff members including the cleaner! Clean sheets and towels had to be paid for and the towel provided was i kid you not the size of a hand towel. The hostel itself is terribly outdated and not interactive in the slightest. Myself and my friend had to pay 3 nights extra for reasons unknown to us, and another friend was accused of not paying at all!! (Even though payment is received on arrival). The 'breakfast included' is a few slices of sweaty cheese and ham and a poor excuses for a croissant… So that left the other option of eating out every morning, i understand it is a hostel but for the overpricing you'd expect something slightly substantial.. Wifi- is non-existent, there are computers that work but sitting in a dark foyer with the worlds most unwelcoming staff isn't exactly my idea of fun. In all honesty this hostel was the only bad thing about my stay in Barcelona. It is an epic area with tonnes to do and see, such a shame this was the place i chose to stay.
based on other people comments we expected much worse breakfast, but we were really satisfied. There was tea, coffee, juices, bread, butter, marmelades, cheese & ham, also some sweets. So nobody can complain he was hungry. Maybe some vegetable would be ok, but not necessary for paid money:)
maybe staff - woman serving breakfast could be a bit nicer, but I understand she has enough of work:). As well wifi could be working upstairs, not only at reception
friendly staff, good place
Location was good in middle of old town and near Las ramblas. Night was queit.
Well, breakfast was very poor, many guests was almost fighting over few pieces of cheese until there was no more. Lady who was making coffee and ration out juice was very rude, didn't even bother answer me when I said "buenos dias". She didn't like when we wanted more coffee and there was no smile. Staff in Hostel New York: please, let her go to the pension, she seems to be very tired or she just is not good customer service. We were paying customers so there was no need to act like we are not welcome there.
