local resturants were dreadful
Clean, friendly staff, spacious bathroom and extemely central location to visit all major sights
Excellent location right in the heart of the old town and an easy walk to all the sights. Surprisingly comfortable and quiet room. Supposedly, Don Juan had stayed there, and Carmen was courted in a neighboring alley.
Being in a pedestrianized area meant the taxi from the train station couldn't drop us at the door. He dropped us and our many bags, pointed to an alley and in broken English explained "down there, left, left, la, 2 minutes" which it was, but it was a tough 2 minutes!
Everything was fine
proximity to transport and sights. Very quaint and historic part of Sevilla.
Bedroom for 3 adults rather tight
Loved the staff, friendly helpful and accommodating. Location great, hair dryer in the room ,
Bed slightly firming although that's spain in general.
We loved the look of the hotel right from when we arrived. It had an amazing shower, which took a bit of working out. The staff where helpful and there were many interesting cafés nearby. The air con was quiet and effective.
After a day the Internet stopped working in our room, we think the staff are working on this problem, one that happens in concrete buildings.
The location is charming. The room was quiet (despite the problems described). All that makes Sevilla soar is within a short walk.
Each time I took a brief shower, the water took at least an hour to drain. If I had been sharing the room with one other person, the shower would either have over-flowed or there would be a major inconvenience. The other problem I experienced was bizarre. In the middle of the night, the over-head light came on without any switch being turned on. The manager came to the room and was as surprised as I. He located the switch box and turned it off that way--leaving me with only the bedside reading lamps. At least I didn't have to change rooms.
Fun location- right on the main "tour" route. Made it easy to wander. The staff was friendly and knew enough English to answer all ?'s we had. Short (15 min) to bus station helped on leaving. Which we did have to do.
Hmm, the facilities are all there, but most are old. Some can't be helped, but new mattresses and working AC would go a long way. Wasn't bad in late Sept. Can't imagine in summer. Taxis can't get there so travel lite (maybe that's a plus!!)
Excellent location on lovely square. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Good value.
Rooms rather plain and uninspiring.
A cosy, original Hostal which is in an excellent location for exploring the sights of historic Sevilla. I'll probably regret giving it the thumbs up as maybe it will be full next time I want to stay !
Excellent value and location, very spacious room.
WiFi didn't reach my room, Air conditioning too strong.
Booked this hotel instead of a 'chain' for some authentic Spanish accommodation. We were not disappointed. The room and beds were clean and comfortable, the window opened into an internal courtyard which meant no passing noise! Food excellent. Highly recommend
Staff were helpful and polite, breakfast was a good start to the day. Air con worked well.
Our friends overlooked the square and were kept awake by street cleaners until 1:00 and then woken by table shifters at 5:00.
Great olde world hotel. Situated in the old town.in a nice little square. Five minutes walk from cathedral and Real Alcazer. Staff very helpful. Food good although a bit dearer than other places. Good Wi Fi connection in the room. Five minute walk where a taxi will drop you off.
Great location in the middle of the old neighbourhood of Santa Cruz with its small streets. Our room was quiet, no problems with noise from outside. Room was clean, not that big but fine for us. Reception staff was very helpful: they took time to answer all our questions, provided space for luggage after check out and even printed our boarding passes on our request. Cute little place.
The location is fantastic, plus we prefer smaller, cosy hotels - this is more like an inn, bags of character.
Bit noisy in the square at night, but we asked for an outside room so I'm not complaining - I must admit I didn't expect the binmen to be quite so noisy or so early !!
Fun area around the hotel. Decent breakfast.
Staff was unfriendly. Ants in the bathroom. Price was really high for the quality of the hotel. Our room overlooked the patio of the restaurant which was very noisy until about midnight, but then fortunately got quiet until 7 or 8am when dogs were barking. Would not recommend this hotel unless you are like us and couldn't find anything else in this price range available.
Location, friendly staff, breakfast (mixed fresh fruit, croissants, yoghurt, breakfast cereals), spacious bathroom with good, though a little complicated, shower.
Beds a little hard. Cleaning of the room could have been better. Furniture and wardrobe were very dusty. It improved after we mentioned this at the reception desk though.
Location, very nice balcony view over Santa Cruz hood, spacious room and excellent service from staff
Sliding door in bath tube needs repair, pillow could before comfortable
Great location, great price
Air con didn't work
Fantastic value for money. Amazing location and comfortable bed with a great shower. Breakfast was really good too. I'd stay again in a heartbeat.
No wifi in the rooms.
I asked for a quiet room, as I am a light sleeper, and was indeed allocated "the quietest room in the hotel" complete with birdsong! The receptionist (Manuel?) was very helpful and very patient whilst I tried to express myself in Spanish. The location was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend The Laurel to solo travellers.
No English language TV
Small rooms, too simple for the price and very hot room.
