Wondeful historic building complex inlovely countryside. Most rooms look over hillside and at night the only thing we could hear was the little stream. We got upgraded to a room with sitting area which was great. Restaurant decor is very nice. Price of quality wine was very reasonable. There was background classical music at breakfast which was good. Quality of breakfast was good and included in our room tarif. Would definitely come back and look around monastery next time as time was just stopping off point for us, would possibly consider eating dinner elsewhere but dessert white chocolate mousse with red berries was v good.Restaurant- Starters about 8€,mains 11-15€ , there was no menu fixe maybe because it wasn't high season.

Quality at dinner could be improved. It is a shame because it could easily be improved by several notches by simple changes- saute real potatoes instead of horrible frozen chips. Starters are large so are ideal for sharing as often in Spain. It was a bit library like - a bit of backrgound music could fix this as used at breakfast-as there were only 3 tables occupied - a total of 5 other diners. Wifi signal was poor in our room, but worked fine in reception area.

Very nice room with separate sitting room. Comfortable bed. Peaceful surroundings, and the Monesterio adjacent was well worth a visit. Food in Restaurant very good, but starters too big for one person

This is a very nice hotel with excellent breakfast buffet. However, for us the main reason for staying there was visiting Yuso and Suso -- which in fact turned out quite unpleasant as only guided tours are allowed in both monasteries, and there are only Spanish language guided tours. So, we ended up spending 10-15 min in every room listening to the guide we did not understand.

It was also a mistake to take the room with a wine cellar package -- the guided visit to the wine cellar is also available only in Spanish, and the non-guided one is free anyway; and the bottle of wine in the room was the worst you can imgine in this God-blessed region.

A very pleasant place in a beautiful and interesting location. The rooms are lovely and the service was good. The wifi worked very well and there was a nice desk for working on one's iPad. A couple more electrical outlets for charging devices would have been nice, but I managed anyway. I didn't eat in the restaurant and I never take breakfast, so I can't comment on that aspect.

Strange to hear pop music.

The location in Rioja region and the building is just magnificent it seems to be placed naturally in the surrounding countryside but gives you the Wow factor when you come round a bend and see it. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with views of the rolling countryside. This is a tranquil place not really for young families. The restaurant produces very good food and the wine is incredibly reasonable for the quality compared to the price paid in a supermarket in Britain. The staff are all very professional and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. I felt very much at home here despite the grandiose surroundings. There are walks through oakwoods to the other monastery and wild flowers are in abudance as are butterflies. You can hear a whole range of birdsongs. So if you like nature and tranquility this is a location you will enjoy.

It is a very well appointed hotel,with good attention to detail. We had excellent value as we had a secret deal from booking.com. The food is good and we also ate on the second night at the asador at the other end of the village which was equally as good. The staff are very pleasant and helpful.

We would have liked an outside area to sit and read but the garden didn't seem to be available to guests.

Location is very nice. Very romantic. Very good value.

Dinner was nothing to write home about....

I can hardly beleive the restaurant in the hotel is really "Michelin recommended". Food quality was worse than poor, as well as extemely unfriendly service. Probably, the worst dining experience during our tour in Spain.

Located in a spectacular monastery of major cultural value and in the beautiful Rioja for those who like to track or a good glass of whine.Really very recommendable.

Beautiful view and very helpful staff at front desk.

THe restaurant service was awful and the dinner food was terrible. Our waitress on the Friday evening was positively rude. The front desk staff were nice but knew nothing about local walking options, which is almost shocking given how little else there is to do in that area. There are trails (beautiful ones) around there and they should not only know about them but have maps and guidance to offer. That's essential.

Luxury and chance to tour Monasterio de Yuso

Stunning location and historic situation. Well worth a quick visit of both stunning monasteries.

Inmejorable entorno. Paz, serenidad, relajación. Vistas magnificas al Monasterio y al entorno. Muy buen restaurante. Desayuno perfecto buffet. Recepcionista muy majo y agradable. Detalle de botellita de vino del Monasterio de Yuso en la habitación. La visita incluida a la bodega estuvo muy amena y los caldos muy buenos.

Todo perfecto.

En realidad solamente pasamos una noche, pero nos dió tiempo para ver un poco el entorno, y es muy bonito y relajante.

El desayuno de buffet, es un poco tacaño para ser de 4 estrellas.
