Originally part of the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, this historic hotel is housed within Yuso Monastery, a UNESCO Heritage Site. It preserves some of Spain's oldest manuscripts in Spanish and Basque. Elegant rooms at Hosteria del Monasterio de San Millan are decorated with dark wood, artworks and antique furnishings. They all provide views of the surrounding vineyards and are equipped with satellite TV channels and a pillow menu. I can hardly beleive the restaurant in the hotel is really "Michelin recommended". Food quality was worse than poor, as well as extemely unfriendly service. Probably, the worst dining experience during our tour in Spain.

Beautiful view and very helpful staff at front desk. THe restaurant service was awful and the dinner food was terrible. Our waitress on the Friday evening was positively rude. The front desk staff were nice but knew nothing about local walking options, which is almost shocking given how little else there is to do in that area. There are trails (beautiful ones) around there and they should not only know about them but have maps and guidance to offer. That's essential.

We had dozens of flies in the room upon arrival, the staff was not helpful and we spent almost an hour to kill flies. The lady at the cafe was unfriendly and left us before we paid for cofee so we needed to chase her to pay. The place is hugely overpriced. The food is also overpriced and poor.Also, this hotel has no double beds, which was not clear at the time of booking.

Magnificent, total silence, & peace. Beautiful place & gdn.excellent bar opposite, but closes at 7.0 ish. Not good eating in nr, by village. Did`nt try hotels Dining room. Nice lounge, & little bar/snack place. Nothing other than, having owned hotels, cannot imagine how anyone can justify 11Euros for breakfast, we would not pay that.

The location of this hotel is wonderful and the accommodation is excellent. The restaurant was not acceptable for a hotel of this standard. We had, at best, some mediocre meals during our stay. The restaurant was characterless and without charm, which was surprising considering the standard of the rooms and the location.

The hotel matches the description on the site. We were at the end of May 2011. Booking offered by Twin very, very good price. And that was just fine. We arrived on Sunday, and all the cafes and shops around the hotel were closed. But there were very few tourists, we found ourselves in a magnificent atmosphere of silence, the architectural and natural beauty. Keep in mind that on Sunday and Monday all closed, and at other times comes a lot of tour buses.

It is a beautiful location, and a very nice hotel. It is very hard to get to San Millan if you do not have a car. There is essentially no bus service.

We love the ambience, staff, cleanliness, and the position is second to none We love this hotel and have stayed there 5 times But the food is awful would never eat in restaurant over priced and just not good food

It is historical site nicely converted into a hotel. Good dinner and excellent wine from the local bodegas. Excellent place to relax and enjoy exceptionally fresh air, bird songs and nature walks. Large warm rooms, tasty breakfast.

Las habitaciones están muy bien. Viajamos con un bebé y todo fueron facilidades. El sitio está apartado pero cenamos dos noches allí. Tienen una minicarta, de cenas más ligeras y precio muy ajustado. Cultura y naturaleza juntos.

Es un hotel recomendable 100%. Habitaciones súper amplias. El personal muy amable. El desayuno bueno. El precio incluía la visita guiada con una degustacioón unas bodegas de un pueblo cercano, que está muy bien. Por poner un pero.... El pueblo exceptuando los monasterios y tres bares tienen poco más, aunque mucho campo por donde pasear
