Hotel AlimaraBerruguete, 126, Horta-Guinardó, 08035 Barcelona (Show map) Very good, Score from 688 reviews“A 4 star hotel, quite new and everything was neat and clean. Good price for a 4 star standard hotel... Although it's already out of downtown, it is just behind a metro station and with that you can go to the city centre directly without changes.”
Ling,
Linkoping

It was nice than we expected. Just five minutes on foot from the metro(subway) and the metro takes 15 min to Plaza Catalunya which routes to main street of Barcelona. So public transportaion is quiet ok. If you arrive at Barcelona airport or leave from the airport, I recommend to take taxi instead of using metro or bus. Costs are just Euro 40~50 in case you trevel with your family. I found a good convenient shops near by the hotel, which is like Tesco, Asda, Waitrose, Saintsbury, and Wallmart, but of course relatively small. It is just 10 min. On foot which is inside of apartment (flat?) opposite-bound of the hotel. There was also pharmacy near by the shop. I think Barcelona is very nice city and if you want comfort on the travelling at relatively cheap price, choosing this hotel is ok. Taking and Calling taxi could be difficult in a certain time. I asked the hotel to call taxi in the afternoon for Airport, but there was no taxi coming after 20min. Airconditioning system is not prompt. If the hotel use the system before the guest comes into the room, it would be quite nice for the service. Complimentory water bottles(Just 1 or 2 bottles a day) should be given to the guest like other hotel because it is given by any of average of 4 star hotels.

This hotel is highly recommended by all means! It has an excellent location in a quiet and safe area, 100m from the metro line 3, which has most of the sites you will visit on it, and the trip to the city's center is only 15 minutes. We stayed in rooms 101 (main road view) and 224 (garden view), they were both absolutely great, clean and sound proofed. The hotel staff was excellent, all very polite and genuinely willing to help out with anything we needed. Breakfast is quite expensive considering 1) the small variety and 2)the quality of the offered choices of the open buffet. The free wi-fi service is offered only in some public places of the hotel (near the reception, the hall and some spots in the dining room that have signal), the rooms are nowhere near the signal, which is unconvienient.

The hotel Alimara has recently refurbished its rooms. It now offers bright rooms equiped with all the usual modern amenities. The rooms are relatively spatious and pleasant. The hotel has also renovated its dinner/lunch area; simple dishes are served. The Alimara is a good stretch away from the main sights but this is amply compensated by the excellent metro link. Line nr 5 brings you without needs for transfers to virtually all of the main attractions down town (passeig de gracia, catalunya, liceu, Drassanes, Parallel, ...). The great thing is that the metro stop Mundet for line nr 5 is a mere 2 or 3 minute walk from the entrance of the hotel (no need to even cross a street). Keep in mind when booking a room in this hotel that the building is right beside the ever busy Ronda de Dalt (the ring road around Barcelona). This results in a constant roar of traffic. With the windows closed the noise level is acceptable but for those who like to sleep with the windows open it might be a good idea to bring ear plugs.

Very clean rooms, located near the metro, efficient front desk staff, The food ran out in the restaurant, and what they provided was terrible(soggy overpriced sandwiches). We asked for a non smoking room and were put in a smoking room.

The hotel was clean and nice, but it was near a Hwy and also residential area. There were no restuarants near by. Had to take the metro to go to the restuarants and shops. Metro was 5-7 minutes walk from the hotel. I wish if there were some shops and Restuarants nearby. There is a rest. On the property but it is pricey.

It's less than 5 minutes walk to the nearest subway station, so it was very easy to reach any location in the city. The rooms which facing the main street would be a bit noisy.

Easy 2min walk to metro and short ride to the main attractions in Barcelona. We chose this hotel for its convenience since we didnt want to drive into the city. Staff was helpful. Terrible sewage smell in the bathroom we had to keep the door close and when we needed to use it we had to hold our breath. Wi-fi only available in lobby and wasnt always fast.

The hotel is located far from the center of the city, next to comfortable highway. Two subway stations help to reach all the beauties of Barcelona. Hotel includes nice yard with trees and sphere-shaped lamps on them. Ample and modern rooms with cozy bathrooms, nice atmosphere, tactful personnel.

Very nice hotel and very close to a metro station, the rooms are spacey and well decorated. Stuff is quite helpful and in general worth the money they charge Bit far from the city center, so after midnight a taxi is needed to go back to the hotel and it is not cheap. Also we booked the room without breakfast included, and the surcharge for that supposed to be euro10 per person as per our booking info, when we decided to have breakfast there one day they just informed us that the charge is 14 euro /person, and the 10 euro only apply if we had informed them earlier !!!

We liked this hotel very much! I think its advantage in its location. 1 - it's far from the center, so it is cheap. 2 - it is 2-minute-walk to the metro station and 10 minutes to the center by metro. 3 - it is popular among businesmen who are more strict to the service and very calm :) 4 - it is located in a quiet place near mountains. 5 - very comfortable rooms. 6 - good sound-isolated, may be because we had not many neighbours. 7 - rather new building with fresh and modern design. 8 - the best breakfast though very expensive. Mini-kitchen or a place for making coffee would be nice, too much weddings at weekends in the restaurant (though sometimes it is interesting to watch how they celebrate weddings in a different country

Very clean hotel, just opposite metro station, nearly 15 minutes to the center, placa Catalunya.A very quiet and rather green neighborhood, peaceful at night though next to a highway, due to its very good sound-proofing.A super market nearby as well as an underground parking. The bathroom was spacious, there were lots of tv channels,a beautiful garden...We will definetely stay here again on our next trip to Barcelona... A small fridge in the room, filled with hotel products,water,drinks,etc...

Room was very nice and clean with safe box which is very important for Barcelona. Although the hotel is not close to the city center, it is very well connected with the city center and some other points of interest. Metro station L3 is approximately 100 meters from the hotel. L3 goes to Parc Guell (stops Vallarca and Lesseps), city center (Passeig de Gracia, Catalunya, La Rambla), cable car to Montjuic (stop Paral-lel), Placa de Espanya (Magic Fountain)... the fact that hotel is not close to the city center is not disadvantage since it is very well connected with the city center and with other the most interesting places in the city

Interior decoration is modern and hotel seems to be new. Natural light access to rooms and hallway. Room was very comfortable. Staff were friendly and polite. They speak English. Location is far from city center (20 mins by metro) but the hotel located just next to metro st. Mundet exit. There are some comfortable seats for free internet users in lobby area. The hotel located quite far from city center; however next to Metro station Mundet. It takes around 20 mins by metro to st. Cantalunya. Our room was facing highway and no air-conditioning unit installed so it was quite noisy and impossible to sleep with window opened. We could still hear some noise even when all windows were close. It would be very hard to sleep in Summer. In addition, as the room facing highway, it is very dusty when in the room when we arrived. We requested it to be cleaned extra but that didn't help much throught the 9-say stay. Free wifi only in lobby and each time you need to use, you must request new login name and password from reception. Do not recommend hotel breakfast.

Excellent Presentation. Nice, clean room. A very friendly service. Location- 8-10 stops away from the Ramblas area. Easy to get into the city, but this is a hotel on the outskirts of town. Based in an area called Mundet. Hotel surroundings is peaceful, not any shops or entertainment nearby. Mainly surrounded by semi- high rise, residential flats.
