It was so very close to the Montjuic area of Barcelona. It was affordable for a family of 4, compared to paying for 2 rooms in other hotels. And it was just 2 blocks from the Metro subway and city busses. Our family enjoyed walking the grounds of Montjuic, cable car ride to the castle, restaurants/shopping at the Arena, and the "Magic Fountain" at night. We highly recommend it for families traveling with children. We would gladly stay at Hotel Azul again!

Excellent location near the Plaza Espanya and buses, metro etc.The kind male receptionist did what he could to allow us our room at 10am, despite it normally being from 2pm. (We had arrived from a cruise ship early in the morning and needed to leave our baggage and freshion up a bit before being out all day). The breakfast was a delicious, large- choice buffet. Definitely worth having. The room was like a furnice on our arrival. We couldn't alter the air conditioning and were told it wasn't working as it was too cold outside. Luckily the housemaid found us the key to open the window so we could air the room and which we left open all night too, despite the traffic noise. Ear plugs are a must if you open the windows... Very reluctantly, the night receptionist made us a cup of tea the first night (which he wasn't supposed to do apparently;not supposed to leave the reception). I'd have happily done it myself had he allowed me. The second night we didn't dare ask. Facilities in the room for this would have been much appreciated.

The location of the hotel is excellent, it's very close to the Placa Espanya where you can catch 2 metro lines (the most frequent l1 and l3), the r5 train towards Manresa which takes you to Montserrat, bus nr. 50 which takes you to the Montjuic. Our room faced to the narrow street and thanks to the double glazed soundproof windows the noise of the street couldn't be heard at all. We heard sometimes noises from the corridor or from other nearby rooms. The breakfast is excellent and much although you can eat cheaper the nearby cafeterias. The staff of the hotel is kind, our favourite was Aurelia who works around the tables at the breakfast. I definitely suggest this place for everbody. The windows were unable to be opened due to safety reasons, so you could choose between air conditioning and hot air.

Very friendly and professional receptionists. Tripple room we booked had a nice kitchenette. The location is perfect for a city trip, near Plaça d'Espanya with several attractions in close proximity: Venetian towers, Montjuic hill with Magic Fountains of Montjuic, Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya, Parc de Joan Miró, Fira de Barcelona fair (was closed for summer), great shopping centre Arenas, Calatrava tower. City centre can be reached in 20 min straight line walking distance however Espanya metro station is nearby with good connections to lines l1, l3, l8. A train station in the same underground connects directly to Montserrat. Excellent connection from the bcn airport by Aerobus a1 or a2 that stops at Pl. Espanya, ~ €5 one way. Some noise from the street, but we were so tired after day that we fell asleep in seconds.

Hotel is very clean, rooms are spacious, good equipped. Good location - aerobus stops 5 minuts from the hotel, to get to airport you need max 30 minutes. WiFi was not working. If you'd like to be close to city center (La Rambla)please keep in mind that from this hotel you need to take metro (4 or 5 stops).

The rooms are very cleanliness, comfort. All hotel staff are friendly and helpful. The location is near Espanya square and the Red Line Trip Bus Station. The musical fountain is at the side of Espanya square. I would like to recommend Hotel Azul Barcelona to other travellers. Karen

The staff were helpful. Metro l3 and l1 is nearby and it can take you to the major tourist location and the central station. All in all, the hotel is not located in the city center but conveniently connected. The rooms facing the street could be a bit noisy during busy times.

well located, 7 min away from the central metro line, close to a shopping mall and to the famous musical fountains. the breakfast was excellent. the rooms were incredibly big, we felt like living in an appartment. we tried 4 rooms until we found a good one. the first 2 had a very strong varnish smell inside, that did not dissapear even after leaving the windows open. the 3rd one was having smoke odor inside. the 4th one had no smell and was perfect, just that the bedroom was quite cold, we had to use 2 blankets on top of each other.

I like the hotel. The room was very spacious. The bed was comfortable. The room and hotel in general was very clean. The man on reception was very nice and helpful. The roof terrace is a real asset to the hotel. I found the room too hot. I could not get the air conditioning to work (even though it was November) and the windows were locked. The man in reception gave me a handle for the inner windows but still the outer windows (on which there was a warning not to open them for security reasons) closed under gravity. I felt that the heat and lack of freshness in the room was a shame because otherwise I really liked the hotel.

Conclusion : Good hotel and services. Excellent locations nearby (2 minutes walk): Placa Espanya,Magic Fountains, restaurants, stores, metro, just 3 metro stops from the beach, bus (city and airport), a big Shopping Mall, Stops for the 2 City Tour Bus. Decent hotel, clean rooms, small cooler in the room, nice bed, quiet. It’s ok if you just want to sleep .We didn't had breakfast included, but nearby was a pub with breakfast from 2E. We went there in November and the weather was 20 degrees and the hotel manager has closed the Air condition in the whole building, because the weather should normally be lower. The room was very hot because the ventilation was not enough to lower the temperature and the outside window cannot be opened because the handle was missing. All the windows in the hotels are without a handle. The solution was to request a handle from the reception and I could open the window, but this lead to another problem: traffic noise. The Hotel is located near a big and busy road and the traffic is intensive until 12 in the night and starts at 5 o’clock in the morning.

The room was huge and comfortable. We booked for a night but we wanted wanted to extend but we could not get the first night price and the website price was not available. We end up paying a lot . This is a good hotel and if you want to book for the hotel and stay for a few days, be sure to book in advance as this hotel is really amazingly comfortable! Will stay again but not at hotel price list but the website price list...

Really friendly comfortable clean hotel - not too far from everything (near the lovely Plaza Espanya) but fairly quiet. We had a great duplex at no extra cost, with lounge area, small dining table, kitchenette (fridge, small hob, plates cultlery etc provided) and then up a spiral staircase to spacious bedroom and bathroom. Great location for the airport bus and the hope on hop off city tour buses both 5 min walk.
