Very good hotel. With a lot of "charme", and very close to the medieval area. Not easy to find a parking, but it is valuable . I would also recommend the Breakfast. Natural fruit juice and good variety. I will be back for sure !

Comfy room with ensuite facility. Lovely breakfast and plenty of choice. Kept awake until early hours by locals parading outside along narrow streets

Recommend you book the car parking as the location is really in the centre. We found it easily with the directions supplied. Room was comfortable with double glazing ensuring very little noise from outside. The breakfast was the usual Spanish faire, which was adequate and fresh.

Have stayed in Caceres several times and at different hotels, but thought we would try The Don Carlos this time. Everything was fine and the price was quite reasonable, but we had difficulty finding the car parking we had booked with the hotel, even with sat nav, as there is quite a complicated one way road system in the city. We eventually parked on a meter close to the Hotel and walked to the hotel to get better instructions. As we had arrived there about 6 pm, we just had to put 1 euro in the machine and we could have stayed there until 10 am, instead of paying for the car parking. Breakfast was fine and the room comfortable, but quite sparse - a typical 2* hotel. Nothing apart from the parking.

The location was ideal for access to the old city, which was very worth a visit. Lots of good places to eat nearby. The parking was secure (essential when travelling with a car full of 'stuff') and easy to find. The staff could not have been more helpful

Excellent value for money. Surprised to find it was only 2 star. Lovely building, excellent location. Good buffet breakfast. We booked a double room and a single room. We found the double room smaller than normal but still very reasonable given the price. However the single room which we had hoped would be a double/twin for single occupation was unfortunately just a small room with a single bed pushed up against the wall. But as we paid a single room rate it was more than adequate.

Delightful and excellent value. Warrants more than its 2 star status. The hotel is a little 'tired'.

The check in staff were very helpful, they emailed prior to my visit the directions to the off site parking with the secure code. They deserved an excellent. The hotel is traditionally but stylishly decorated. My room was small but again nicely decorated with aircon. It was in a short walking distance to the old town. Main dislike was the noise. There was no sound proofing between the rooms or the corridors. All the hallways were tiled and no rugs were used to absorb any noise. I was woken up at 12:30am by the noise of people returning to their room. Woken for the 2nd time at 3am by the sound of the couple in the room next door having sex & then woken for the 3rd time by a group of men returning at 4am laughing, shouting, hammering on doors. This went on for over an hour. I had a 600 km drive later that morning and basically no sleep. I didn't mention it at check out as the staff had changed and the man at reception was surly and only interested in getting my payment. I was too tired to deal with it.

Friendly helpful staff. Clean no frills ensuite accommodation. All you need breakfast buffet. Excellent location with the essential easy car park just 150 m from the hotel. I'd stay again. Saturday night is incredibly noisy outside the hotel. Two nearby clubs and clubbers til 0400. Other nights fine. Poor sound insulation!

the location for visiting the historic sites and bars and restaurants the size of the room. without the airconditioning you can't sleep at night. but if you switch on the airco it blows on your head because the bed stands directly under the aircounit and it's too noisy outside to leave the balconydoor open.

Excellent location, near the medieval core, as well as shops and restaurants. My room, however, was not noisy. The reception staff members were excellent. The free wifi worked very well in the room. The hotel is hard to find, so try to print off a (very) detailed map from an online source before you go. The people I asked for help were very helpful, though, so you will be all right if you get lost. A minibar and safe in the room would have been helpful.

“Location, location. Right in the Plaza Mayor facing the main gate to the old city in Caceres. Caceres has well deserved designation as a World Heritage site, and this hotel is the perfect base for a visit (we also visited Merida and its Roman remains as a day trip). Plaza is filled with cafes and delightful, partly because it is car free. Hotel has good parking arrangement with garage ca 80 m away, but figuring out logistics ahead of time would help. Staff delightful, decor contemporary and elegant, spotless.” Norman, Pittsburgh |
