Hotel Empordà  

Value for money. Parker flooring and nice bathrooms.

The hotel is very dated and the restaurant very expensive. Mind that the hotel is wedged between two roads, ie noise levels are high.

The staff was very helpful and the Dali Museum is walking distance from the hotel.

It's right on the main highway, so ask for a room that doesn't directly face the traffic noise.

The baths are jacuzzi. Was noisy in the morning from our neighbours above. No big deal for us, bot could have been a problem if someone decided yo use it at night.

My wife and I have known the Hotel Emporda for 20 years. The rooms are attactive and comfortable, the service excellent, the ambiance one of a well run family hotel backed by a professional and loyal team. The main reason we go there, however, is because the restaurant is one of the best in Europe. Based on local and classical Catalan ingredients, the food gets better and better. No gimmicks, just exquisite flavours and textures. Excellent wine list but go for the delicious and great value ones from Emporda itself.

The hotel was within walking distance of Figueras and the Dali museums, but the main attraction of the hotel was the restaurant. The quality of the food and service provided was impecable. Staff were very attentive and took great pride in their work. We took advantage of a flash deal but would recommend it irrespective of that.

The hotel was accommodating in letting us stay with the 2 children in one room at a discounted rate.

We were disappointed with the location. The room looked out onto the main road leading into the town and it was very noisy.

Location

The room overlooked the mountains and that the hotel was far enough away from the town but close enough to walk into town.

The breakfast was basically only meats and cheese. There was no hot water for my tea and no suitable bread for toasting.

Good breakfast. Plenty of private parking. Garage parking (10 euros per night is very convenient).

Hot food is no longer available at breakfast . (We've stayed here many times before and this used to be available to order).

Decor of hotel and room was absolutely beautiful. Bed very comfy. Bathroom spectacular in design and spotless. The breakfast was the best we've had at a hotel yet in Spain, with hot egg dishes cooked to order, along with a wonderful array of fruits, meats, anchovies, breads, and cheeses, all in a lovely setting. Others have said this hotel is far from the museum but it is just a relatively short walk, not hard. High recommendation.

Hotel was very clean and staff where very pleasant loved the decor and the spacousness of the room and the view.

The quality of the restaurant and the extensive wine list. The restaurant staff were excellent and the floor was well managed. Prices were very reasonable.
