Very friendly and helpful staff, nice room, breakfast for 3€ in a nice restaurant (Picasso)
20 minute walk to the beach but that's not really an issue
Location is perfect in the older part of town Staff were very friendly and helpful
It would have been nice to have been able to make a drink. There is no breakfast at the hotel altho we were recommended a nearby cafe which was excellent
Very friendly host, very good price, parking no problem, in a lovely old city.
Everything was perfect ! - Our hosts were very friendly and helpful ! - Accomodation close to the beach, easy parking in front or around the Jayma despite the peak season, to facilities (parking, supermarket, tapas bar, restaurant, chemist) ! - Room is clean ! Highly recommended ! Big Bravo and thank you for everything ;-)
This is a lovely hotel in one of the most attractive towns on this part of the Spanish coast. The town itself is worth a visit, since it has a good beach and lacks the grim development typical of Southern Spain. The hotel is on a quiet side street near supermarkets, bars and restaurants and a twenty minute walk to the beach. The welcome was very warm, the property clean (not amazingly clean, I do worry where other reviewers have stayed before!). Highly recommended
These aren't things to not like, but things to be aware of. There's no breakfast in summer as the breakfast room is very small; parking on the surrounding streets is limited and you'll not want a large car; and it is a walk to the beach... but that's part of the pleasure of staying here, in the old town.
Very good, clean, big modern bathroom - shower only The hostal is located in the center of town about a 20 minute walk from beach You can take a minibus to the beach or up the castillo - costs 1 euro. The buses run about every half hour with a 2 hour siesta break at 2 PM. The last bus runs around 8 PM. I recommend taking the minibus to the Castillo just to see how the driver navigates the narrow streets on the way up or down.
We were on the second floor and had problems making a WiFi connection. When conected WiFi was slow - had no problems using WiFi in he lobby area.
It is a small hotel, own by a very nice family; they were really professional and help us with all we asked for;
no fridge in a room, even if is very hot outside!
Super clean, great location and super nice staff.
Friendly helpful & hospitable hosts. Good recommendations for local Restaurants. Would happily stay there again if in the area.
Perhaps a little more choice of breakfast, but what we had was good with fresh orange juice & freshly baked bread. But having said this it was fine & there are plenty of places to eat anyway.
The hostal is clean, tidy and well presented. The staff are helpful and friendly. It is in the middle of the old part of town about a mile from the beach. Street parking is close-by.
The locks on the sliding patio door and bathroom were both broken and would not lock. When I raised this with reception they said it was the fault of guests slamming them. Probably not a smart move to blame the guests for this.
Charming family run the Hostal - most helpful in every way. Comfortable and pleasant room. Excellent power shower.
Would have preferred a shower screen to a curtain.
just excellent and lovely people
Lovely owners, very clean
Hotel staff was very helpful
Very helpfull staff Nice breakfast Clean room
- Location (border of old town, but street is not too narrow for car) - Space in front of hotel to unload your luggage - Very friendly and helpful staff - Bottle of water in the room
Very Charmous and with a lot of efforts. Thanks a lot
Having read positive reports on this site and the rating of 9 we were not disappointed. Staff very helpful and cleanliness excellent.
The staff went out of their way to ensure our stay was first class. Did I mention that the rooms were exceptionally clean? The hotel directions were easily visible by street signs when we entered Salobrena and everything was within walking distance.
A couple of glasses in the room would have been nice but that is getting picky.
The Hostal Jayma is located in the older part of town and the owners were friendly and our room was very comfortable. Salobrena is a quiet seaside town especially in Oct. There are numerous restaurants in town and also along the beachfront. The surrounding countryside was lush with tropical fruit trees - we enjoyed the custard apples.
We only Stayed in this Hostel for two nights and it was excellent!. It was cleaner than a 5* Hotel and the owner was very friendly and helpful. Unlike Hotels where you only get WiFi in the lobby you could get a good reception in the room! You could walk to all the bars and the beach was only about 20 minutes away or in a car 5minutes Would definitely recommend this Hostel, we will be staying again!
Nothing at all!
A very pleasant experience. The gentleman in reception was most helpful in all respects. The Hostal is quite far from the beach if you do not have a car but it is possible to walk there in about 25 minutes. free parking around the Hostal was readily available when we were there.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. My room was the cleanest hotel room I have ever encountered. The bathroom fittings were modern and the shower was very good. WiFi was good. Salobreña is a lovely town, combining a historic quarter, commercial center and a busy beachfront all within a 20 minute walk. The locals are friendly and it has some nice restaurants and tapas bars. I would highly recommend a visit to this beautiful part of Spain.
