The town and sea front very pictures and very convenient for Bilbao
I stay here twice every year - to and from the Ferry Ports and southern Costas. Remarkably good value for such a top-quality hotel in my view. You feel like a valued guest here.
Nothing. But it always seems strange to me that there is no extract fan in the bathroom/ shower rooms - and as there is no window in there you can't vent the steam water vapour when showering !
Beautiful room, great bed, large bathroom, excellent breakfast, helpful staff, short walk to old town.
Transparent blind to the bathroom window was a bit disconcerting at night!
Nice quiet location overlooking the sea but only a short walk to the town centre. Also vert well placed if using the Bilbao ferry service, only a 15 minute drive to the terminal. Very clean well equipped rooms with very comfortable bed with good quality linen. Excellent buffet breakfast with great selection of good quality items. Garage parking on site, free for our motorcycles, plenty of safe parking outside the hotel for cars.
I like everything about this hotel.
We were upgraded on arrival to a suite which made the stay very enjoyable.
On this occasion (we have stayed before) it was raining cats and dogs and we were unable to take our walk along the promenade!
Didn't like it, felt like our room window was open even though it was closed. There was a big hole in the window frame and the window didn't fit into the frame, consequently we had to listen to road traffic and men working outside making a new patio. Not the best when you've driven a long way and need a rest.
Having stayed at Las Rocas on numerous occasions while en route to and from the Brittany ferries, our most recent visit was solely for pleasure - and it didn't disappoint. The hotel is very comfortable, and the staff like old friends. It was worth the journey from the Costa Blanca to be able to spend more time here.
Everything was clean, easy and staff great. No problems. Excellent value
The view from our room (5th. floor) was very good and we enjoyed the balcony. Good location
Actually nothing to complain about - but maybe they should update the photo of the hotel from outside. We did not use a GPS - and was looking for a hotel with almost no buildings around it - that is not the case today :-)
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The room had fantastic views of the ocean. The staff could not have been more helpful. The town itself is clean with a beautiful promenade between the old town, the hotel and headland beyond. We are happy to recommend this hotel and we are planning to revisit next year.
Everything about this hotel is excellent stayed here many times
Excellent reception staff Garage facilities Quality room
Excellent location right beside the beach and a short walk to the center of town. The room, a suite for 2 adults and 2 older kids had a beautiful view to the sea and was very comfortable and spacious. We all enjoyed very much our stay there.
Very handy for Bilbao & Santander Ferries. Excellent location.
When waiter spilled a glass of wine over one of our party would have expected more action in clearing up.
Well positioned comfortable hotel with an excellent restaurant.
Comfort, position and helpfulness of staff
Extra charges for dog, 13 euros for one night
Large comfortable room with view towards the sea. Good stop over if going for the ferry in Bilbao, away from the port but only took us 30 minutes to get there. Breakfast was good and food in restaurants was also good.
Its a lovely walk along the sea front into Castro- urbiales, and plenty of places for an aperitif, but no restaurants except a few fast food types . So forget enjoying a fish or seafood meal. there isn't anywhere to go.
We found the staff friendly and helpful. Although most of the staff speak English, they appreciated our efforts at Spanish. The restaurant served excellent local dishes and had a good value wine list.
Shower and bathroom had poor ventilation. This made the bedroom quite humid.
Clean and comfortable hotel in an excellent location in an attractive coastal resort. Very close to beach with pleasant walk along promenade to other facilities. Secure parking available.
Just about everything. Real excellent breakfast. Friendly staff. We Have been here several times and will certainly go again.
Lovely large rooms with fridge and tea/coffee making facilities. Well laid out rooms with good facilities for the disabled. Also dog friendly.
The room was generally clean, apart from the dusty drapes. Nice view of the beach. Location a short walk to the restaurant area. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
The decor was outdated, but interesting. The drapes in our room were very dusty, as was the carpet in the hallway along the edges and corners.
Welcoming staff who allocated us a room with private deck ( we were celebrating our wedding anniversary). Loved the easy stroll along the beautiful promenade of Castro Urdiales to the old town. Breakfast good. Enjoyed it so much we stayed an extra night! Thank you!
Nothing to dislike.
The hotel was nice and quiet and was a shirt walk to the beach and several mi ute walk along the promenade to castro urdiales. The breakfast is buffet style and was very good quality and plentiful. I think you could order eggs etc at additional cost although €11 for breakfast was reasonable. The beds were comfortable and I had a good night's sleep especially I ally with the window open and listening to the waves it was very relaxing. The wifi was one of the best I've had during a hotel stay! In all o would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others. Castro urdiales is very relaxed and a lovely place to spend a weekend. Families enjoy the town together and there's a feeling of calm and a friendly atmosphere unlike a lot of towns you'd find in the UK on a Saturday night!
The only thing I could fault really is that I would advise the hotel to invest in more toilet brushes!! Yuk! Probably best to discard them and let the cleaners do what they need to with their own!!
