The view was beautiful

No air con, dirty walls,small bed, old furniture and fixtures, felt dated and unclean

No parking available and nearest public car park closed for repair - so long walk with luggage. Bed room was noisy when other guests wake at 5AM shouting. Furniture, curtains, fittings all looked tired and need of replacing

Excellent location ... I have been coming here for 4 nights/year for the last 8 years.

New car park charges. €17/Day is not acceptable. Rooms are dated, and I have never been given a decent room with a nice view in 8 years. Other hotels upgrade when quiet, this one never does. Breakfast is pretty poor for Spain. This hotel is basically for package tours of Chinese tourists ... wake up, work harder ! Keep yourself price competitive, and give guests free parking !

the location and the view .near rail station .city views would have been disappointing so glad uopgraded to sea view .

no tea /coffee mking facilities in room the price of the breakfast and the limited fare available .better to go out . in front of the hotel on the balco de mediterranean promenade thewre were dossers who stank and urinated in public and acostede passersby for money

Location is perfect. A good value for your money.

Only pillows were inconvenient. Breakfast and wi-fi were too expensive.

Everything about this hotel was shocking, we booked and paid for a superior double room the first room they tried to get us to stay in was dirty, the carpet had holes in it, the widow and door to the balcony was nailed up so no access (fire hazard) the plaster was falling off the walls, the door lock was broken and wouldn't lock, and a twin not a double needles to say we refused to stay in this room The second room was cleaner but in no way a superior room and a twin again paint was pealing off the walls, the room was just shabby and everything in need of repair reluctantly we had to stay one night in this room . Third room was again not a superior but adequate. The staff were just not interested and we got the impression they were used to guests complaining the policy seemed to be get rid of the problem asap. There were several other things not up to standard for a four star hotel but too many to mention, we will never stay at this hotel again, We would recommend Tarragona to travellers but not the hotel.

The first two nights we stayed here in a normal room which was shabby and dated. The second two nights we booked separately. I paid for a superior room to have a balcony with a sea view (the room was somewhat better, it was average). However I was not impressed to find that the balcony door was not able to be opened having paid extra for a sea view. I booked with booking.com because it said "free cancellation" however this also was completely misleading and untrue. We wanted to cancel our second booking but would not receive any money back. So over all not a good experience.

Wonderful location,nearness to Roman remains, lovely town full of real Catalan life and tradition

The staff might as well not have been there, not at all helpful. The window in our room didn't work, tap in washhandbasin worn and difficult to use.

The hotel is situated at a very central point with great views.

We had lovely views from our room but unfortunately we could not get on to the balcony to enjoy these. The door and window had been locked for safety reasons.

The location in the centre of town, and at 8min walk to the beach make this hotel ideal for a short holiday. Nice views over the sea and the roman amphitheatre and city walls.

Staff very friendly, rooms clean, food excellent. Rooms with sea view are the best. Did not use spa so cannot comment.

Building work going on at present and they started around 7:00 in the morning, so if you want to sleep in you cannot because of the noise.

Very good value and close to the old Roman city

Unparalleled views of the beach and the Roman Amphitheatre, excellent location for exploring Tarragona and dinner was very good. I would recommend this hotel on the provision that any interested traveller was made aware of the possible discomfort caused by the strong offshore winds.

Unfortunately the downside of the location of the hotel is that when the wind blows from the sea it is impossible to get any respite from the howling noise caused by wind blowing across the hotel facade. Unlike our dinner experience, breakfast was very poor.

The location is the best thing I can say about this hotel. It has a panoramic view of the sea and Roman ruins.

However, the hotel is old and musty. The indoor/outdoor carpet was moldy and dirty, and I had to kill an oversized bug in the bathroom. The bed was not very comfortable. Because of my allergies to mold I would not stay there again. due to the dirty and moldy carpet.

The location - it overlooks the Roman amphitheatre and a little of the old town.

The hotel looks tired, it needs refurbishing. It's not a hotel that will live in my memory.

Hi Myself and around 20 other guests unfortunately had an awful time at the hotel which rates itself as 4 stars - the staff were extremel rude and unhelpful and I have never encontered anything like in my life. We had arrived for my sister's wedding and they even insisted the bride move her clothes from 1 room to her honeymoon suite on the day of her wedding and were not accomodating at all! Shocking and the other guests had similar stories. We arrived to a twin room when we had booked a double and our double was frankly of a v low standard - we then moved to a suite, walked through the front door to a huge stain on the carpet, threadbare carpets, old radio, lukewarm water in the shower, fabric stapled to our ceiling with all the staples showing and this is ranked as 4 star...I Think people would have been ok with the rooms as they were at least clean if the hotel was ranked as 2 or 3 star but this hotel should not be promoted as 4 star and people felt v let down and disappointed. When we all complained the staff almost took it a personal insult and were then surly and rude but the hotel should not set itself forth as this kind of establishment when it is not....v upsetting that we spent the wedding in this way and would never return again.

After reading some of the reports about this hotel we were a bit unsure whether we had booked a poorly rated hotel. Well we thought everything about the hotel was excellent. The room was clean and a nice size, the beds were comfortable and breakfast was very good. We were there durring the SantaTecla festival, so a lot of the restaurants were only serving drinks in the n=main square and the others in the old town fully booked. On the Sunday 23rd Sept 2012 we ate in the hotel, a fixed price festival meal with a lovely wine and it was excellent.

Fantastic location overlooking many most important sights, as a family we received lovely large room. Tarragona is wearth a visit any time of the year. The staff was friendly if they work more on english skills, they are even better.
