A wonderful position in the centre of the city. It is close to the Gran Via, the Plaza Mayor, Metro stations, cafes. A major department store with supermarket and Post Office is just across the road.
Great value for money. Excellent location, helpful staff and the room we had was exceptionally quiet
Very helpful staff , location, cleanliness
15 minutes walking from everything.
The location of the hotel is excellent. All the restaurants and shops are nearby. The staff were very helpful and there is a really nice seating area inside.
I couldn't connect my fone to the wifi
Location it was fabulous. The hotel itself was very comfortable and spacious for three people. The rooms were clean.
The room had very poor lighting. It was lit by two bedside lamps and one wardrobe light. It was very dark
This hotel has an excellent location, helpful staff and good restaurant. Wi Fi worked well. Room is a bit small but very comfortable. New York Times as well as other international news papers available daily.
although we only spend a few hours there, we felt a sense of luxury and comfort. lovely beds and bedding
too short stay to notice
The location was central but quiet. The hotel was next to an old convent which is on the top 10 things to do in Madrid but other places to visit and shopping is nearby. Did not have the air of a large chain but a more individual hotel. Lovely old lift .
There are a lot of homeless people in Madrid and some slept in the square outside the hotel. They did not bother me butbeggars were out in force in Madrid and are a general issue.
Lovely vintage feel and excellent location that is walking distance from many major sights. Spacious rooms and nice ammenties. Front desk personnel very helpful with recommendations.
Check in process clunky. Rooms and lobby could use updating as the furniture and decor seems a bit tired. Breakfast was expensive and not that extensive. No onsite parking.
Location . Size of room. Good restaurant .
No tea, coffee making facilities in room. Only one comfy chair in double room.
We were very happy at this hotel. The beds were very comfortable, and the location was perfect. The buffet breakfast was expensive and the bathroom was small. The hotel has a lot of character and is well maintained. Service was excellent. They answered all our questions and were very helpful.
small bathroom, expensive buffet
The location is ideal for the many bars, restaurants and shops in the area. The hotel is very clean, with helpful and polite staff. I would use this hotel again.
The location and breakfast were very good, the hotel is located in nice building and has charm.
Beds could have been better, two singles instead of a double/queen bed is not comfortable for couples.
Very well located Friendly staff Very good room quality Excellent reception services provided
Hotel staff (except reception) do not speak English Wi fi - hard to be used. There are a lot of internal networks but with very limited range and it is needed to be changed very (too often)
Location of this hotel is superb! Close to the Gran Via, Opera house, Palacio Real, Puerta del Sol and Plaza Mayor!
Close to all you wish to see and do.
The service was fantastic! Great location!
Nothing bad to say
Staff ..very friendly and helpful. . The best in Madrid ..
Parking is too expensive ..no free parking a property ..
What a stay!!! Super!!
Location was close to 4 "supermercats" & all other needs, rooms were great, staff was friendly & helpful, you name it! Air con was not working in our room so they changed us immediately, no questions asked. Very cost effective as well. Can't recommend highly enough.
1st night room didn't have any windows
Location, cleanliness, wi-fi (which is a standard now)
Although on a booking.com website hotel informs that rooms available are on a ground floor it does not give a true picture. Advertised rooms are half underground and there is no option of opening a window. There is no view as well from the room as the glass in the window is frosted and it has bars in it. Room decor was a minimalistic! White and black. The general impression was as we were in a prison cell. None of the pictures on the website gave the true image of the room. Very deceiving! I can understand that a 4* hotel has some rooms that can not be charged as others with a view and balcony however this should be clearly mentioned on the website. If I knew what a room I was getting for that money I would choose other hotel, possibly 2 or 3* and pay the same money for a better experience. High marks only for location and cleanliness. Staff at the reception was looking down on us as we had the cheap room. And one day when I went to reception to ask for the clean towels that the maid probably forgot to leave, after cleaning the room, the porter looked at me as if I stole them and was looking for replacement. We didn't opt in for breakfast so can not comment on that. So if you are booking via booking.com this hotel and it say "ground floor room" be assured to sleep in a cell! I'm sure other rooms are much more beautiful and have a fantastic view overlooking the square. Much more expensive as well. So for that money look for some other hotels with at least a view from a window or a window that you can open to bring some fresh air!
