Staff was excellent, spoke English, very helpful and professional. It was great having a place to get a cup of cafe con leche every morning without having to buy a whole breakfast (right down in the lobby). We had three people in a room with two twin beds and a couch. Couch mattress was not very comfortable, but besides that there was plenty of room..the little kitchenette was awesome. Beautiful lobby. Would definitely recommend as long as you don't want to be right in the middle of all the action. Free internet use in the lobby. Front desk employees were great with directions, making reservations, getting taxis for us. It was a little too far away from the action, but close to the museums. Didn't realize that Madrid was so spread out....transportation to places of interest added up.

It was in a very nice, upscale part of the City, close to shopping and dining areas. The hotel itself was very classy, and it included a small restaurant/bar part if you wanted a snack or dirnk. One of the big pluses was they had a fully equipped kitchen (in a closet, in the room) so you could make your breakfast or lunch and store food/beverages in a refrigerator. The rooms and clientele were very quiet compared to others we had stayed in, in Spain. They had very professional and helpful staff who spoke English. Their tips for dining were excellent, and they were willing to help us with other travel arrangements (printing airline boarding passes, arranging for taxis, etc.). Their off-season rates were very competitive if you booked at the right time - well in advance, or last minute. We liked this place so much that we stayed there twice on our 10 day vacation.

Very lovely common areas and rooms. Pretty garden area in the back. Ability for three adult family members to stay together in one room. Quiet surroundings but close to main street. Refrigerator in room. Proximity to the museums and Retiro Park. Sofa bed is not a pull out and is very short. Will only work if one family member is under 5'8". Mini-kitchen not particularly well set up.

We have traveled to Europe many times for 2-3 weeks at a time changing locations alot. This is the prettiest and nicest hotel I have found throughout France, Italy, Belguim, Holland, London and Spain. The breakfast is far better than most. The room was spacious and the hotel is full of marble and glistening chandeliers. The staff was helpful and polite and efficient. My only complaint was our room was dusty and in some places very dusty. The grout in shower could be a bit whiter in places. The mirrors sparkled. Oh yes, shower/tub combination needs grab bars as the tub was very slippery. All in all, I was amazed for what we got and would only stay at this hotel if in Madrid and will highly recommend it to friends. There was even a mini kitchen in our room--we did not book a suite---just a room.

All was really great! Perfect location - away from noisy high streets, but near the park and Prado museum. Beautiful building, luxury lobby. Very cosy and comfortable room with the kithcen area where we have had all necessary items: pot and pan, plates and dishes, etc.

The room was quite large and well-equipped. It even included a small kitchen, with a fridge, microwave oven and induction cooking.set. LCD TV set. Bed was quite large and comfortable. Relatively quiet room for Madrid. Nice location in the famous Salamanca area. Close to metro station "Retiro" (5 minutes walk), museum Le Prado, Parque del Retiro, etc.. Breaksfast was rather varied and very reasonable, fresh fruits, very good spanish ham, cheese, eggs, croissants, yoghurts, ... Coffee and/or tea were yet only served once (no self-service with that respect). Room service works very well. We had dinner once in the restaurant of the hotel but we were alone in the restaurant! Though the food was good, one would probably expect more from a 4-star hotel.

It was in a quiet location & the bedroom was secluded & opened onto a garden with swimming pool. Ideal for going to Carcassone (about 15 miles away on motorway). It also has a restaurant.

Our room was lovely with a view of the garden/courtyard area. The outdoor dinner service in the courtyard has an upscale atmosphere and polished waiting staff but is pricey. The room was clean and comfortable with a full kitchenette including stovetop, cupboards, dishes and frying pans. It's in the museum, Retiro Park area with few good restaurants and a few high priced shopping boutiques nearby. Retiro Park is within easy access and a charming quiet park to stroll in the evening. It's a quiet refined hotel perfectly suited for business or museum seeking tourists. I wouldn't recommend it for a family with children.

The beds are extremely comfortable. The room is a really good size with plenty of space for luggage and great facilities. The TV had a range of English speaking shows so my teenage daughter loved that! The noise is surprisingly clear. From revellers outside to people in the room next door. A standard kettle would be good too.

The location was just perfect. The garden is not as big as you imagine when you see the pictures on the website but still very well maintained and a pleasant place to sit and have breakfast. We were a couple and when we arrived they gave us a twin room instead of a double room. The fact that the staff were ignorant and left us to find out and complain to do something about it that was annoying. At the end they pushed the beds together! and told us that we should have noted that we want a king size bed.

Great central position in the city but on a very quiet street. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable and very clean. The staff at the front desk were outstanding. I left my credit cards by mistake in the open safe when I left and your staff sent them out to me by taxi at the airport very fast and efficiently. The front desk staff were also very helpful on any city information. The staff in the restaurant need more training on what they are serving

Beautiful quiet interior patio for lunch or dinners. Ideal location not only for shopping and leisure located between Calle Serrano and Plaza Colon Decoration and room furniture not up to modern standards for a 4 star hotel. Although hotel itself is quietly situated, noise isolation between rooms and the hallways is very poor.

Everything! Lovely room with kitchenette, balcony overlooking garden, convenient for all sights in Madrid. 20 minutes by train from airport. Small. Comfortable and large beds. Large room. In a very quiet spot - no external noise at night. Efficient, easy-to-control, air-conditoning and heating system. Windows that open. On-site restaurant and cafe. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent buffet breakfast. Superb value for location. Poor sound insulation between floors - could hear every step from above on the marble, and scraping chairs. Bell entry to rooms could be heard in other rooms. Bell to signal arrival of lift was irritating. Constant piped music even in upstairs corridors. It was classical music but was often quite loud (though it couldn't be heard in the bedrooms). Restaurant food was good and good value. Hot food in the cafe was poor and expensive for what it was. A kettle in the kitchen area would be useful.

“Very well located, you can walk to the shopping district of Madrid, its also 2 blocks walking of the metro station so you can go anywhere in Madrid if you´re willing to walk and use public transport to move in the city. The size of the rooms are quite well considering you are in Europe. The cold european breakfast buffet its very good.” Bernardo, Garza Garcia, N.l. |

“We liked everything about this hotel. The location is fantastic - right in the middle of Madrid and close to several different areas for bars & nighlife etc. All of the staff we dealt with were very friendly and helpful. The bloke who checked us in even gave us a choice of three different rooms depending on whether we wanted a room with a balcony, one on the top floor or a slightly bigger room lower down the building. This hotel is very clean and well maintained with all of the facilities you would expect from a four star place but at a very competitive price. Excellent value, couldn't recommend this place more highly.” Patrice, Birmingham |
