Space, surroundings, staff, delicate food, overall good value for money. Well suited for daytrips to Gibraltar.
Beautiful place excellent location. Convenient for the things we wished to do.
Breakfast a bit disappointing for such a nice place.
W stayed here for two nights at the end of our holiday in Andalucía. The property has been converted so sympathetically retaining its charm but with modern facilities, the courtyard in the middle of the hotel is stunning and it was a pleasure to sit there with a drink. It is on the edge of a national park with glorious drives or walks.
Nice staff. Great breakfast. Fantastic place with interesting history. Hotel z miłą obsługą z bardzo dobrym jedzeniem. Miejsce klimatyczne z basenem i kortem tenisowym.
No wi-fi in the room
The beautiful grounds and the friendly staff. The room was not large but was perfectly appointed and very comfortable. A lovely serene place to spend a day or two. And it is not that far off the beaten path - it's just 6 miles from the main highway. I loved the place.
It's not really close to anything (I liked it but others might not). My only negative was the internet - no wifi in the rooms and while I didn't really mind sitting in the courtyard with a glass of wine to do my email and things, the wifi there wasn't very good either. This would be an easy and simple thing to fix.
This nice old building (with modern facilities) is a beautyfull place to be on the spanish countryside without the stress of the overcrowded Costa del Sol but close enough for a dayvisit of eg Gibraltar. Having diner on the patio is a must not becouse of the food (which is not bad, but also not outstanding) but becouse of the great atmosphere. The pool is not big, although we were the only users (in August!). The castle park is a great place for walking and horse riding. Speaking of the rooms the bathroom is very comfortable and room and bathroom were very clean.
Room was small, dark and view was on the laundry (must say we booked only 1 day in advance). Lunch is served in an uninviting cold restaurant. The terrace in front of it looked inviting but lunch can not be served there as the waittress told us. The receptionist was chatting on the phone (definitely not business like) and made let us wait a long time to check in and the samen again when we check out!
Friendly staff - do not speak English very we'll but that is part of the charm of the hotel. They counterbalance that with the utmost friendliness and try to help as much as you can (including gestures :-). We had a fantastic stay because we were looking for a calm and relax location away from the costas. And we found the ideal location!
Nothing really !
Fantastic grounds, lovely pool, huge comfy bed and a well looked after hotel. The food in the restaurant and service was outstanding. Beautiful area to go walking and extremely peaceful and quiet.
Quiet calm and beautiful hotel!
Full of character. Great location with excellent facilities. Wonderful food and very helpful staff. Highly recommended. A real gem.
buildings in middle of forest historic period convent with preserved chapel.
staff came first guests second! room not serviced in evening. all rather laid back however food good and all good value.
Located in a nature park Beautiful interiors & decor 400 year old convent Wonderful inner courtyard Spacious rooms Good food Nice parking area
Poor WiFi in room No elevator Noise from staff in kitchen Not all staff speak english
The location is excellent with plenty to keep you occupied nearby.
Poor internet connection
The building and its setting were superb; a beautiful old convent that has been sympathetically converted to a hotel with all modern facilities. Within easy reach of Gibraltar. The chapel that has been retained within the complex is amazing.
Nothing to dislike unless you object to having cows with bells around their necks grazing nearby through the night!
Elegance and style. A excellent combination of traditional and modern (eg bathroom)
Only one chair in room. Not many guests and lacking atmosphere (during week?)
Lovely, peaceful old renovated convent in a convenient setting for the coast, pueblos blancos and Gibraltar. Spacious room and pretty grounds to walk round. Beautiful internal patio to sit and have drinks. Very "atmospheric" place.
Swimming pool not yet open. OK, it was early May, but there was a heatwave... Breakfast was passable, but nothing really fresh or hot, so a bit disappointing for a hotel of this quality otherwise.
Nice setting, hotel rooms are spacious and excellent bathrooms. very friendly staff and good food.
as the hotel is authentic w.r.t. it's original function, rooms may be a bit noisy (in some rooms you could hear your neighbours very wel..)
beautifuly located hotel in an old monaster and quiet surrounding, good quality accomodation
It's a special place - an old historical building and rooms that still show their history. Yet with all modern comforts. Our room (110) had a fireplace, a large, beautiful bathroom with tub plus an extra toilet including bidet and a hydromassage shower. The whole setting is real great
If you need a central position, then this is not your place! But it's obvious that this place is not in the middle of a capital...
Lovely quiet location - easy access for Gibraltar Airport Very well appointed and pleasant staff
Great food! (Almost only localy produced). Lovely surroundings. Huge suite-like rooms. The perfect starting point for exploring the south-western spain.
Wonderful setting. Good size rooms, great bathroom.
Breakfast not very appealing. Everything factory-made and prepackaged. No staff attending, one has to go find somebody to get a cup of coffee.
everything was great, really nice place, awesome patio, perfect location for recreation, not too far from the sea as well. nice restaurant, best olives ever!
no wifi in the room, only cable.
Rooms were enormous and well appointed. Lounge room with fire was so romantic.
Why are the double beds actually two singles connected? Bit odd.
