Old hotel with character and a "quirky" atmosphere in a very picturesque town. Excellent, friendly, helpful staff. Great restaurant with an excellent menu. Decent buffet breakfast. Room clean and comfortable but expensive for what it is. It would have been nice to have more cooked vegetables with our main course at dinner, instead of having to order a salad. However, this seems to be the same throughout southern Spain.

Very nice Hotel, super stylish, great restaurant (with a fantastic breakfast). Nice little loungy bar on the roof. All in all a super deal. Lost of nice restaurants in the area. The ladies at the reception didn't speak a word of english. That's fine, what else is to be expected. But they weren't that friendly. Gave the feeling of a big hotel in a big city. Don't think that was a language barrier issue. The rest of the people at the hotel (maids, restaurant) was super friendly. Too bad, starts off the place

Quirky little hotel with a maze of corridors in a lovely setting. Rooftop bar is a great place to relax and the restaurant is good too. Not for the elderly. Too many stairs. Our room, number one, faced the lane way, hence the noise from people leaving the restaurant and bar.

The staff is very helpful. The restaurant is wonderful. The room smelled a little but it is in a cave. Next time I'll bring a candle.

Excellent restaurant. The "Sol" junior suite looked over the garden, which was quiet. We booked the "Sol" junior suite because it was advertised "with balcony" - disappointed by just a juliet balcony. It had plenty of space but no comfortable chair to sit on. Steep stairs and low ceilings on the stairs.

Great restaurant and setting. One of my favorite hotels during my three week visit to Spain The sound traveled into my room but wasn't a significant issue because it was quiet later in the evening.

The Califa is a beautiful higgledy piggledy building with a wonderful atmosphere. Lots of different rooms on different levels up and down small staircases and through lovely passage ways all beautifully decorated. The dining room and courtyard outside it are stunning and the menu interesting and different. We loved our stay and will be back. Probably not suitable for anyone with mobility problems though. It was all lovely.

Beautiful view from the patio area outside our front door. Quaint hotel with lots of cubbies and seating areas for relaxation. Excellent restaurant. Unfortunately, the town plaza in front of the hotel is being renovated and closed down.

Very helpful staff, brilliant location in the old town of Veher. The hotel was formed from about 10 old houses in Veher and had an olde world, intimate feeling, but was modern in its approach.

Nice ambience and decor. The restaurant was very good. Everything was good except mosquito problem. Electric mosquito repellant might be an idea worth considering for the rooms.

I love the Hotel La Casa del Califa. The setting is magnificent, with views to the Vejer valley on one side, and the town square to the other. The hotel facade is 18th century, but with much earlier parts - the cellars are late medieval. Staff here are friendly and attentive without being intrusive. And the food is excellent; Moroccan influenced dinner, and quite the best breakfast I've ever had in a hotel anywhere. The introduction of pvc doors here and there. It's quite out of keeping with the age and feel of the hotel.
