Score from 491 reviews Excellent
There is a kitchen, we didn't know it so it was really good.
I liked the colours although I don't like IKEA :)
I missed some picture or decoration from the empty wall surface and some carpet next to the bed in the room :) Few hot water.
I love the feeling of the hostel, looked really nice. The location is great, especially if you want to walk around the old city center. Staff very helpful, he explained everything, gave us map, recommendations where to go etc.. quite big room, nicely done.. great value for the money! I'm sure I'll be back.
If you are traveling in winter, make sure you wear something warm to sleep in since the heater in the room doesn't really help much... also you can hear everything though the walls cause it's an old building so be prepared.. And the kitchen could use a new equipment soon (plates, mugs, knives). But if you stay just for one night like us, no problem.
cleanliness dirty bed covers - after cleaning they were lyeing on the dirthy floor old house
Good location, nice decoration , facility and nice staff!!!
Unfortunately, the wifi seems not working the day we live
Very central Suitable for our whole family group which ranged from 15 to 60!
This hostel is located in a little lane, very quiet. Also it's easy to get anywhere essential. The staff are quite friendly, suggesting us a very good restaurant which is brilliant! The room is very clean. A kitchen for cooking is also available. We bought some seafood from the market nearby and cooked in the kitchen, very nice! Will definitely recommend to anyone who would like to visit Malaga!
Great value. Clean Comfortable. Francisco on reception was so friendly and helpful.
The hotel design is beautiful, a lovely little porch outside and the room was basic, ikea-fitted, but comfortable overall with all necessary amenities. The lady who welcomed us was enormously helpful and friendly. Wifi service was excellent, room comes included with key for security deposit box. The room was very big, with small hallway and sofa/extra bed.
There is no one working during the evening/nights/early morning which is a problem if there is an emergency. The room is nice but it is basic, with little place for putting clothes. There is no heating or heaters, which can be tough in winter, and the outside patio is open air, meaning that it is very loud if it is raining outside (which was our case) and bugs from outside can get into the hotel easily (we had one in our room).
Personal attention from David who gave excellent local knowledge of the area. Location was superb and offered all what we wanted for an overnight stay to see the Christmas lights before returning to the UK early the following day.
Wifi could have had a faster connection but this did not affect our stay.
Dark room. Moreover, The hole in the window makes room very nosy and cold. Cold bathroom and so crowded very often.
double lockers provided safety, the reception was competent and friendly, downstairs the computer was available
it was quite noisy as the rooms are in parts situated in the middle of the building. the privacy was not actually given as everything was hearable.
good location - a lot of bars and night clubs - perfect hostel for young people . clean room
Traditional Andalusian home. Location 5 min walking from Plaza Merced. Very clean. Staff very nice, friendly and helpful.
Location and the staff was good.
The room we stayed was used to be a balcony and it was so cold and moist. We couldn't have a sleep.
Massimo the receptionist was superb, so welcoming and friendly. Hope we can go back one day soon!!
Only 1 bathroom to share between 3 floors.
Ideal location, friendly, loads of facilities you can use free its my 3rd stay
Really helpful staff went out of their way for us
Excellent location (just 5mins walking to get downtown) and staff always up to provide with suggestions and info. Had a good stay for three days, gonna choose it again whenever I'll be back in Málaga someday.
Location. Very close to the centre.
The strong smell of bleach as I walked into the room made me a bit sick. The bathroom is very small, the shower cubical is not for turning or bending down. The bed sheet had stains and the sofa in the room is really extremely dirty. My room was on the ground level so it's quite noisy at night with the windows opened to the street. Though I only slept a few hours there, it was rather expensive for that quality of room but I guess Malaga is rather expensive compared to some other parts of Andalusia.
Staff was excellent, we had all information about the city center we need. Good Wi-Fi, nice location just in the center of old city. 20-30 minutes walk from main train\bus station, 15 minutes to the closest metro station.
Room for disabled people wasn't so nice as on picture, looked like room in old building.
La Casa Mata Central and in particular, Juan-Carlos, understand the art of hospitality. In this lovely styled hotel you will want for nothing, because you can ask for everything. I had an amazing stay and I would definitely book again next time I'm in Malaga.
The only down side I can think of was that my room was right next to the reception desk and the late check in of one couple was somewhat noisy. But then, you can't win the all :)
The young staff provided good service and spoke well english, and the location was perfect. In a sidealley, no trafick and walking distance to downtown.
The house was old, for maybe two wellbeing families, or three generations, then painted up and renovated with improvised standard. But, OK, it didn't cost much and we did not complain.
