La Flor De Al-Andalus is a miracle of efficiency, cleanliness, and clear hotel vision. Officially a "hostal," which in Spain means minimal services (no workout room or computer lobby etc), La Flor De Al-Andalus is an excellent and very pretty little hotel, with smart design evident everywhere. The breakfast is continental and basic but very inexpensive per person. The staff were courteous and excellent; it is a family-owned and run place. Our room was quiet and lovely, though I can imagine the street-facing rooms might have a little bit of traffic sounds. It is not on a main street, but still there are regular cars going to and fro. Great place and around the corner from Merida's historical sites.

dog friendly was our main priority but our room was beautiful and we will come again not being able to leave our obedient, mature dog in the room so if wee wanted to go out to eat he had to come too in the HEAT he would have slept in his bed on the floor and not barked or been a nuisance at all

Good, clean, convenient place to stay for one night while exploring Merida. The room was pretty small but we only stayed there for a brief time. The beds were pretty hard and not very comfortable for my middle aged body.

The position is very nice. Easy to find if you come with a car. It's few minutes walking away from all the main touristic attractions. Breakfast (3 euros extra per room) was simple but enough (even if the orange juice was horrible). Friendly staff. The room was not very clean. The bed was absolutely horrible: very short (1.9m long maximum), the matress was old and uncomfortable, one of the pillows was stiff like a stone and the other was so used that it felt like having no pillow at all. The orange juice during breakfast was very bad, probably some orange-flavour powder mixed with tap water. For 60 euros a night I would expect something more than this....Capitolio Apartamentos Turisticos it's just few meters away and has a wonderful stylish apartment including full-equipped kitchen, washing machine and huge bed, for the same price (no breakfast included, but in Merida you can have breakfast for 2/3 euros in any bar).

Close to ruins and main centre of town. Freindly staff. very hard to find parking spot hotel is on busy street with many appt blocks nearby. No lift so you have to carry bags upstairs I had a single room , which was small. I noticed a few small red stains on the bed quilt and wall, when I woke in morning I noticed some type of bugs on the wall when I squashed 3 of them they had red insides , not sure if it was blood , i was not bitten.. No Bfast available.

Beautiful decoration of the room. 1. The room was not very clean in the toilet; 2. We found a huge Cockroach in the bathroom and the staff didn't mind a lot when we told them; The cockroack came from the ventilation; 3. The cleaning ladies made a lot of noise in the morning; 4. Localization could be better; 5. We cannot understand what the Lonely planet was thinking when they advice this hostal has one of the 10 best things in Spain on the last year!!! It is a joke!

Charming place to stay in Merida within walking distance to archaeological sites and city strolling. Room was clean and pleasant with atmospheric decor. Friendly staff. Good value for money. Although you can pull up to the front door to unpack, parking is where you find it on nearby streets. I was lucky to find a good spot, but apparently, it is hard to find parking in "el casco antiguo" of Merida.

Five of us were cycling on the Via de la Plata and needed a secure room for our bikes overnight, which we got. The reception staff were very friendly and made great suggestions about where to eat. Rooms were spotless and colourful and the breakfast was served to us in the patio downstairs. Good value.

Great value for money, staff very friendly, rooms comfortable and beautifully decorated.... close to all the main sites. A family run hostel opened two years ago.....I've paid a lot more for a lot less in other places....and even the bathroom, although small was well appointed.
