This could be (or was in the past) a great BnB. It is seriously lacking proper maintenance, both in terms of the physical upkeep of the building/rooms and also cleanliness in the common areas (the rooms were always well cleaned each day though). For example the communal kitchen and fridge were a mess, and there was (still is!) rubbish dumped on the terrace on our floor. The pool area is poorly maintained also, although the (small) pool is clean. Breakfast was well below par: things kept running out and were not refilled, glasses and dishes were not clean, croissants obviously days old..
Some other things to be improved:
- Towels must be changed when the guest request it (we left one on the floor and it was not changed :(
- One of our rooms did not have a place to hang the shower "telephone".
We liked the place and has a nice time despite all this. With a little more effort this will be a great BnB!
We stayed 1 week at La Olivera (2 couples with young children). The house and rooms are very nice, and tastefully restored (see however our negative comments). It's in a quaint, peaceful village that is only a 15 min drive to nice beaches, historical monuments and pine woods. At least one good restaurant in walking distance and plenty in El Vendrell etc (10 min by car). The owner, Rafael is a nice guy. He seems to do the majority of the work around the place so is very busy.
