Good location and clean and comfortable beds. Good coffee. Surrounded by construction so hard to find. Tram noise from 6 am to 11 pm. Breakfast pathetic unless you augment like we did. Staff not very friendly.

Immediately helpful staff, parking directly underneath the building, bright spacious room with lots of natural light, very comfortable, good and interesting location. Breakfast was so minimal, I wondered if I'd arrived too late.

Proximity to the city and the Guggenheim was great. Basic but clean room and the staff were most helpful . Great value for money . Walls thin- noisy at times and with train line and construction opposite could be intrusive . However if you are out all day wasn't a problem. . Breakfast very basic but sufficient .

The location is quite OK. It is close to the Guggenheim Museum (some 600 meters; on the other side of the river). The room is nice and good value for money. This hotel is much better than the ones situated in suburbs like Bilbi (prostitutes, drugs) or Zorrotza (very far away). Tourists misbehave during breakfast.

Very helpful Staff and rooms spotless. I arrived a couple of hours before the 'official' check-in time and they prepared my room straight away so I could unpack and change and get into town without my luggage. Basic breakfast was OK for me. Free Wi-fi but it does have good and bad moments. There IS a lot of building going on in the area due to the underground being extended, but I expected that due to other posts, but that won't last forever. The walls in the hotel are rather thin ...I just hope my snoring did not upset too many folk! No English tv ( I was expecting to get CNN, Sky News or BBC News, but not a big problem)

The hotel was excellent. On first arrival the location is a little off putting but once you find your bearings you realise it is conveniently located. The rooms are very clean and the water pressure in the showers was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. The best part of the hotel though is the value for money.

It's close to everywhere. The staff are nice and the room was clean. It was a good and one of the cheapest hotel in the bilbao. Unfortunately the government is making metro next to it. So after 10, it was imposible to sleep. But it was ok for us because we went for traveling and woke up early. The breakfast is bread, jam and coffee. Dont expect much, it's a pension.

For 10-day stay in this hotel nothing aroused my claims. The location is very convenient, the Guggenheim Museum is about 10 minutes walk right over the bridge, not far from the hotel there is a lift to Funikular Plaza where you can eat well and cheaply in the cafeteria "Mandobide". The room was very clean, bathroom too, beds are comfortable. For breakfast I have no complaints. The staff is very friendly. I want to thank individually Reinier González and Maria Paz

Secure parking, pet-friendly - and free for pets. Since we were staying for just one night before catching the ferry to the UK, it was perfect for our needs. The entire environment around the pension was a building site - so not very pretty. And the noise from the builders started at 8:30am - it would have been impossible to sleep after this time. If we'd been looking for a romantic city break in Bilbao, we would have checked out and gone elsewhere after the first morning.

A friendly staff helped me to find my car which was towed by local traffic police. Because of road construction nearby the hotel, it was very difficult to find the hotel.

The Staff were absolutely lovely. Very obliging, very helpful, very cheerful ;o) The room was rather small, the double bed was really small - would have preferred 2 singles together. Unfortunately there was a lot of road works going on, so incfedibly noisy which didn't leave time for a lie-in in the mornings (when you're on holiday!) plus you could hear the toilets flushes, shower running next door - thin walls! Breakfast was really basic - toast and cakes. No cereal.

Value for money is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful. The room was spotless and towels changed each night. This is our second stay despite anticipating metro works noise. This time it was quieter and we were there for the opening of a new, larger breakfast area, now quite adequate for the number of guests. The Guggenheim and town are easily accessible with a short walk. The only 'problem' is the fact that, especially if you have children, there are hardly any restaurants for evening meals with less than a 15 min walk. However, towards the old town, or across the Salve bridge one can find a variety of small bistros to eat well, as early as 8p.m. The walk by the river at night is spectacular and an evening outing in itself.

Personnel is friendly and helpful, the room was clean, the location is easy to reach from the station, not far from the Old town. Problems with wifi: most of the time it was unavailable. The personnel speak some English, but not quite well. They tried to do their best still.

Nothing. I would only stop here again if hell froze over The hotel was at the top of a hill in the middle of major roadworks. The hotel itself was covered in scaffolding. It was like living in a building site. If that wasn't bad enough there was building work going on in the hotel immediately under our room with a hammer drill until 8pm The room was dirty with dirty hand marks on the floors. We had to pay 10€ extra for parking although it would be impossible to park elsewhere. Even then they tried to charge us 5€ more than on our Booking.com receipt. The receipt showed breakfast included. Not only was it not included but there was nowhere for it to be served. There were a few tables and chairs and a fridge in reception but no water so to make coffee the kettle had to be filled in the toilet. This is a DUMP an I will NEVER stop here again.

the staff were fine even helpfull when we asked for directions to get to the port. the room was clean to have to pay for a small space with 4 tables chairs under a stair well and tea coffee etc on a bench..butter jam and milk in a fridge that was none to clean and juice in cartoons that were all half open and stale ...then when we asked for food we were given a loaf of bread and a small bundle of stale buns this was NOT worth 10 euro. also the fact that we had to pay another 10 euro to put the car under ground in a car park was not good. to find the hotel and then trying to park to get cases of was not easy..it needs better directions. our room was so noisy the windows wouldnt open the shutter was stuck and wouldnt open but when we looked the out best left unlooked at. the staff were so nice to us it did make it a better exsperiance tho'

Our stay at the pension La Salve was good the only problem was the walk up the hill to the pension. The view is not the problem of the Pension but the extension of the Metro which will only help the all ready excellent transport system.
