Paco was a lovely host. Alhama is a great little, quiet town to spend a few days, do a few walks and relax with a few good bars in town. Great little escape with good bus links to Granada.
Location/view. Food excellent. Owner Paco very warm and engaging despite lack of english. Lovely room opening on to terrace.
Beautiful place in the heart of the little town. The best views from the sunny terrace, where you can also dine in the evening. Very friendly hosts, many thanks to Paco!
Superb location, Fernando (owner) was helpful and friendly and the hotel has a quaint charm. Also highly recommend Bar La Placeta, in the main square just round the corner, which has very friendly staff and serves excellent, imaginative tapas.
We had the family room, which actually had two rooms, each with two beds. We paid €100 per night plus taxes and feel this was a bit high for the standard of accom., although admittedly there were only two of us. €75 or €80 would have been a fairer price, we think.
Location, location and terrace
Unfriendly attitude of owner. Door locked when we arrived, no smile or welcome or info about facilities within the property. Very grumpy at both breakfast times, had expected a different stay from previous reviews.
The warmth and heart of the proprietor and staff. Personal and attentive. respectful and intimate. Not intrusive at all. Wonderful food, and views from the balcony, and a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing room.
The owners were very friendly and helpful. The hotel was centrally located and had a nice feel. The room was comfortable and had everything I needed. The Wifi was fast and reliable in my room.
The wonderful friendly welcome by Paco...a true host. So helpful too. Lovely jug of fresh orange juice with breakfast.
Restaurant was closed on Monday night, and such a poor selection of restaurants in the town itself ...all close on Monday, except for a couple of bars, and a pizza place serving disappointing tapas!
We both loved staying at this hotel. We were in southern Spain for a wedding. Our room was clean and very comfortable with lovely views of the gorge right outside our door. The food at breakfast was very nice - eggs, toast, olive oil, ham, avocado, orange juice, coffee and a variety of fresh fruits available. We ate in the restaurant every night that we could because the cuisine was just excellent on every occasion. And such good value too! However what made our stay so memorable was the friendliness and hospitality shown to us throughout our stay by Paco and his family. We had a wonderful time and would love to return one day. I guess you could find more luxurious accommodation but you'd be hard pressed to find anywhere which leaves you with a greater sense of warmth and well-being. Our sincere thanks to all at La Seguiriya, Tony and lynn
To attempt to find fault with this little gem of a hotel would be petty and irrelevant. We just wish it wasn't so far away from Jersey!
The host The view The breakfast
The staff were very attentive. Really was the best omlette. The balcony gave you excellent views of the gorge. Easy to walk to all the old town sights. The bedrooms were comfortable and clean.
There was nothing to dislike about this hotel.
The position, the terrace, the owners. It was a true gem. We had had an enormous lunch on our way to the property and were so sorry not to be able to sample the cooking which sounds fabulous
We booked late so we had the family room between four of us. The only problem was only one bathroom in one of the rooms but we knew each other well enough to creep in for a wee in the middle of the night!!!
Paco was an excellent host The food was really good with a mixture of Spanish and English cooking
We had the last available room which although dark it was very cool especially as the temperature in the day was very hot
Beautiful location and property. Owners made you feel very welcome and traditional Spanish breakfast is delicious. We asked for a special room and arrived very late to the property and that was not a problem at all. We had the best views on 2nd floor. We only stayed on an overnight stay due to travelling around other areas in Spain and we felt like we wanted to stay more nights and unfortunately we could not. We really hope to return again and again. You wont be disappointed and don't forget to try the chocolate soufflé.
There is nothing not to like about this property. If you want a little taste of tradition and culture and warmth in Spain, visit La Seguiriya.
Friendly, great food, clean, comfortable, lovely terrace. Liked everything.
Lots of character and a beautiful terrace with orange trees above the Alhama gorge. A very friendly welcome, and an interesting owner.
Paco and his family were the perfect hosts. This small hotel was perfect if you want to experience the real Spain. Location at the edge of the ravine was wonderful and the town was well worth a visit although very quiet. Have no problem recommending and would enjoy visiting again.
Lovely friendly hotel and would definitely recommend.
The location was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast (toast, cheese, fresh squeezed orange juice, and tea/coffee) was simple and delicious.
This hotel's listing on Booking.com says the rooms have views of the gorge, so we were disappointed when both the rooms we were offered looked out onto the street. Then we realized (after looking around a bit) that the only space in the hotel with that fantastic view of the gorge is probably the terrace. That being said, our room was beautiful and comfortable, and the views from the terrace were incredible. I hope we have the opportunity to go back!
The hotel is a family run business, who go out of their way to make you feel welcome, and at home. They are very helpful, and will go that extra mile to try and help you. Paco, the owner, is a lovely, fun guy, who knows how to make guests feel special, and obviously has a passion for his business and people. The restaurant serves very good food - the best we found in the town by a long way. The breakfast was also the best we had all holiday. The outside terrace is a nice setting, and would be lovely to eat out on during summer months. Our room was comfy and clean, with a large walk-in wardrobe There are some nice walks straight from the hotel, and also a bike hire shop just round the corner that is great. The town is not as picturesque as some of the more remote villages we visited in the Seirra Nevada region, but there is still some nice scenery around the local area, and the hot springs are definitely worth a visit.
The part where the shower attached to the holder was a little broken, but it didn't really effect its usability too much.
I liked everything about this place. The owner and staff were relaxed, cheerful and made visitors feel welcome. The views from the rear of the property were majestic. The building was ancient and had been beautifully and lovingly restored. Breakfasts (included in price of room) were delicious. This was a most memorable and original place and I hops to return.
Everything at La Seguiriya was perfect. But it is hard to get to by public transport and bus times from Malaga are not convenient. I hope that the houses in the town are more fully restored (many roofs have collapsed).
Nice welcome and good spot for hiking.
Our room looked out at a blind wall and breakfast was very limited in choice.
Paco and family are amazing. Like visiting new friends. Only 7 rooms. Delicious food. Stunning view from the terrace.
Nothing. The town was very quiet - but it was also off season.
Paco is a charming host
