Overlooking the stunning La Herradura bay, Hotel Almijara is located only 650 ft from the beach. Enjoy fantastic views of the bay and mountains from the hotel terrace.
Score from 145 reviews Excellent
Great hotel in the lovely town of La Herradura. How this is just a 1 star is beyond belief. Rooms are lovely, AC is good, wifi is great, staff are lovely and the food is nothing short of magnificent. If you are a "foodie" do yourself a big favour and go stay here, I promise you will thank me!
Breakfast was amazing!
Crossing the fairly fast road to get to town, but still very close to town.
hotel is attractive and the room was nicely decorated. Bed was comfortable. Air conditioning managed to cope with high temperature - just!
bathroom was very cramped. Bath towels were small. Could not get anything to eat, not even a sandwich or a bag of crisps, when we arrived at 10.00 pm.
Service was great and we slept really well Would definetly recommend
Setting is lovely, rooms beautifully decorated. We had an evening meal which was excellent. The staff cannot do enough to help. We are already planning our next visit.
enthusiastic welcome by Mary and very keen to please. great food Quaint decor comfortable bed. Lots of hot water Jed very helpful. Provided sun lounges I would stay again and recommend it wholeheartedly
Busy road in front
It is a very friendly and relaxing \Hotel with a great restaurant and views.
Amazing hotel! We'd like to return.
So ein wunderschönes kleines Bijou!
Fabulous setting, absolutely fabulous food & really lovely hosts
The service was slapstick and shoddy. We specifically booked a room with a private terrace with sea view which we did not get. Neither did we receive an apology for this. The food was appalling! A bernaise sauce that did not pour, a limp excuse of a caesar salad and rubbery chips. The trio of fish was a joke. A tiny portion of bland fish with the third element being just two prawns. The "Chef" needs a lesson on how to cook! A hugely disappointing experience. We certainly won't be recommending La Tartana to our friends nor our many clients.
food was amazing ! Room with terrace had lovely view and was beautiful.
Shame outdoor patio area was not open in afternoon but it was windy so this may have been the reason
Great place lovely couple and made you feel at home
Beautifully decorated, very friendly , good food
The road is quite busy
Facility is lovely. Staff are wonderful and attentive when there. Breakfast was very good.
Mandy & Jed are too casual in their management. They are oft absent hosts. Hotel is locked up tight as soon as cleaning staff leave. Guests arrive to note on door which says call to register. Can't use patio in afternoon because it is locked.
Very frendly and competent staff/owner. Excellent dinner, although rather expensive
Close to busy road
Lovely place. Stylish.
Owners away. Stand in management had loud Late party followed by loud argument. Position not good. On busy road.
Just a great weekend break, with nice staff and good food
The evening meal was wonderfull, really nice hosts. Will go back for sure A REAL GEM !
Lovely boutique hotel with a real Spanish authenticity. Wonderful view from our room and pretty gardens to relax. Food amazing. A revisit is definite ..
Very friendly lovely people great food
The staff were tremendous - helpful, friendly and always with a warm greeting. Breakfasts invariably good with wide choice on offer.
No one on reception on arrival. Hotel bar and lounge facilities locked-off in the evening with no access meant being confined to room. There was a generally casual attitude by the owners with little concern for our well-being whilst in the hotel. Noisy music played with little thought given to hotel guests. Out of town location of hotel meant long walk along dark and unlit road to restaurants in evening. Not sure would return or recommend to others.
House, room, service, breakfast and maybe best of all the food in the restaurant, short walk to La Herradura
Beautiful hotel set back off the road, with typical Andalusian architecture. Wonderful food with hosts who made us so welcome.
