Located a 15-minute walk from Madrid’s Atocha Train Station, and 600 metres from the Puerta del Sol, Hostal Fernandez offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi and private bathrooms.
Score from 94 reviews Very good
The staff were so helpful and welcoming, the breakfast was decent and the experience as a whole was value for money. We chose this hotel because of its location next to gran via metro station and avenue also to Puerta del sol.
The room was fair, the bathroom was so tiny you couldn't sit on the toilet seat or take a shower properly, the furniture was old and not well maintained. The main problem was the noise coming from the streets at nights especially on weekend nights were the parties and noise stay till early morning, making it impossible to sleep. This is not the Hotel's problem though as it is located in the night life neighborhoods bordering Malasana and Chueca...
The Gran Via metro station is just around the corner, the wifi was perfect and the room with the small balcony was nice. The bathroom was clean and enough hot water in the morning. The breakfast was ok (I only drink coffee, though). And both E&L are great! Luv ya, guys! I recommend this place whenever you are visiting Madrid for a short stay and need a place to sleep nearby all the main Madrid have-2-c.
Nothing! Tipota! Niente! Nada! Rien! Niets!
Fresh, clean, good location, friendly staff, decent breakfast buffé, working wifi.... Everything you need for a good price :-)
Nothing major, but it might be worth mentioning that the beds were hard, the shower and toilet quite small and the doors are not soundproof at all.
Looking forward to go back :)
It's a hostel with great location, very close to metro station anda Granvia and Sol. I really liked staying at Hostal Lo Zona! Staff was helpful and can speak English unlike the other Spanish people. Breakfast was pretty good and it was just upstairs.I prefer to stay there again.
I know the towels were clean but even so they had some stains on them.
Great location, walking distance to all tourist attractions in Madrid and friendly staff. Clean and safe.
Perfect place to stay in central area of Madrid for good price!
Close proximity to Madrid centre.
Very noisy street outside La Zona especially on saturday night. People shouting ,talking loudly till nearly 7.30 am. Difficulty in getting to sleep.
The position was very central. It was clean. The staff was helpful.
A discoteque just in front of it was really noisy till late in the night.
Excellent location for who like to be close to night life and shops.
If you like to sleep early or don't have a deep sleep, you might have problem in Hostal La Zona.
very well located; clean; helpful staff; not expensive and well worth the price
Neighbourhood very noisy, bring some earplug if you want sleep well; the room was a little small, the double bed taking all the space. For me on my own it was ok, but if you are two, the room might be a little crowded.
Very wonderful and helpful reception staff, good breakfast, clean rooms, fantastic location.
Slightly noisy as the hostel is off the main Gran Via but this was expected (bring ear plugs!) and did not cause me too much of a problem.
Friendly staff, top location, clean
Small shower in 1p room A bit noisy if sleeping om streetside.
the pillows and the rather sad breakfast
The staff, Lio and Estaban were perfect . They make sure you are fine and cater to everything you need. They were most helpful and friendly, always asking if I need anything. Truly value for money. Even the continental breakfast was of high quality .I highly recommend this hotel.
Bathroom is a bit small but the room makes up for it.
staff speaks fluent English and very nice, comfortable and quiet environment, very good location
- Staff was friendly & helpful - Quiet, considering proximity to nightlife - Location was very good. Convenient to metro stations and Malasaña nightlife.
- Building and facilities were a bit dingy - Toilet did not work well and made worrying coughing noises when the shower was running.
Nothing but good things to say about La Zona. Staff was very helpful and the room was comfortable and perfect for someone who is not looking for extravagance and luxury. Simple, clean, and minutes walking from everywhere you would need to be.
The bathroom and shower were a bit small, and could be difficult for someone who is larger. I'm a small person and I found the shower to be a bit tricky to maneuver, but even then it was not a cause of concern.
Very kind and helpful people. Great location.
A night club on the opposite of the street, very loud noise till 5am in the morning.
noise from street
Incredibly nice personnel, very clean and comfortable rooms. Thank you, guys, I will definitely recommend you to my friend going to Madrid, and I will stay with you again when I go to Madrid again.
The location of the hostel is excellent, just a short walk to all the main sights and very close to the shops, restaurants, cafeterias... Friendly and helpful staff, the room was clean and well maintained. The breakfast provided was also good. Nothing to complain about.. would stay again in this hostel.
Very good location
Very clean & tidy. Good continental type buffet breakfast. Great central location. Very helpful & friendly staff. Free wifi in rooms & use of a computer. 24/7 fruit available Great value for money. Very close to the Gay Chueca area of Madrid.
Can be a little noisy at night, but you are in the centre of a capital city!
Location is very good, the stuffs are so nice and kind in helping .
