La Ciudadela  

Location and view from the window (our room was right i front of the park).

For us it was not a problem, but our friends (they stayed in the next room) didn't like the noise of a road (which is between the hotel and the park). But you always may choose an interior room.

The Hotel is ideally located for a city break to Barcelona. The Hotel is very pleasant with basic but clean & tidy rooms. The Hotel has it's own bar & restaurant which are reasonably priced. I would definitely stay at this Hotel if I was visiting Barcelona again.

Very hard to communicate with staff as they do not speak very much English. If you have a problem it would be hard to let them know.

The location is superb within easy walking distance of Barcelona city and the beach area. I did not use the restaurant as I wanted to get "out and about". The staff were great when I needed help to print my boarding pass. I have now stayed in four different hotels in Barcelona. All were fine but La Ciudadela would be my 1st choice for location and value.

quiet room in good location. large room, good bathroom ,plain, no problems

This was a great hotel, especially for the price! The location was wonderful, very central to everything in Barca. The beds were comfortable, the room was spotless and well organized. The staff were helpful, and our room was ready when we arrived.

The towels were crunchy, maybe some fabric softener? The shower was very high pressure, and being short in stature, felt like I was going to drown! lol Really, not much to say in the negative, I would stay here again!

It was the perfect location, we could stroll through the park down to the port & back via Las Ramblas. The price of the room was very reasonable & we also enjoyed the odd glass of wine/meal in the restaurant below. We would definitely go back again.

Our room was facing the main road & it was a little noisy during the early morning rush hour.

Friendliness of staff, comfort and cleanliness of the room, restaurant, proximity to park and Metro, walking distance from key sites around the city (waterfront, Picasso Museum, La Rambla).

Wi-fi was not reliable, despite being touted as such on their website. Do not book if wi-fi is an absolute must for you.

We arived at ciudadela on a motorcycle tour of spain and found the staff very help full, the food very good and the location excelent On arival we parked the bikes in a car park under the park area opposite the hotel but this was a little expensive so the hotel staff organised cheaper parking for us around the corner in a secure car park making our lives so much easer. The hotel is centraly placed in a lively area with resteraunts all around.very good.

The room is simple but clean and the staff is very kind. The position is good because both close to the center and the beach. Wifi for free

I loved the location. I had a view on the beautiful park de La Ciudadela. It is at 3 mns walk from the Arc de Triumph metro station, and 5 mns walk from the El Born, a very lively area of the city. 10 mns walk from the beach too!!! The single room I booked was big enough for me, very clean and air-conditionned. Hotel staff was very friendly. I did not pay a lot for the 6 nights stay, only 414euros. No meals included but you will want to have them elswhere so much variety there is there!

The hotel staff was friendly but hardly spoke English. However, they always helped when needed. The hotel itself could be noisy at some times. But the room was well insulated from outside/street noise (in any case, the hotel is located in a quiet area of the city). note: you should get an "exterior" room (with a view) as the hotel seems to be lacking light otherwise.
